I just received my Successful Farming magazine and they have another one of their giveaways. It is a Bush Hog Trail Hand 4400 UTV. Drawing to be held 9/30/08. I would give you guys the web address to enter but I don't need the competition .

Last year it was for an Arcticat (Arctic Cat ??)UTV, I did not win.

I enter giveaways with several magazines I receive. Compact Equipment is always having a drawing for something I tried for the TransMule, rock bucket, ASV RC-30 skid steer and a JD skid steer, did'nt win. They always publish who won and the guy who won the ASV was going to expand his landscape business. He now had a ASV skid steer, lawnmower, and hand rake .


I did win a SpongeBob computer game at an RV show!

Have any of you guys won anything big or had a friend who did?

I've never won anything, of course I need to play (register, enroll, participate, etc.) to win and since I don't play...well, therein lies the reason.

I was at an event recently and passed by a booth. The man in the booth was trying to get me to register for a free drawing, I don't even remember what the prize was.

I told him that if mine was the only name in the hat, they'd pull out the tag that reads "Made in China".

I bought twelve tickets for $10 as a donation to Children's Miracle Network. I won an RCA 42" projection TV. That's the only thing that I ever won except for an Allis Chalmers cigarette lighter at my dealers open house. It's still in the box and that's where it will stay. The lighter not the TV.

I love those booths that you can enter for a Free trip to Disneyworld or some other place. Anyway, you fill out your information and guess what, everyone wins this free trip. They called me the one day and it was only going to cost me just so many thousands of dollars for my free trip. Well I politely told them no and told my parents about it. Well, the next day they won the same free trip

It is a good way for travel agents to get people interested and sell "free" trips.

I have received emails a couple of times telling me that I have won over a million dollars in a drawing of email addresses.

I did not respond to these emails because I figured that there must be people out there who can use the money more than I can.

A friend of mine's dad won and Oldsmobile once. Everytime I was at his house he had a T.V. tray with post cards and envelopes on it. He registered for every give-away he saw. He would win the occasional trinket, but the car was his one big win. He said he figures that broke even over the years worth of stamps he used.

Years ago, I won $1000 at the annual REMC members meeting (rural power company), but we had already left, so I didn't get it, friends told me later. Didn't stop to consider the odds: 200-300 people present. Since then, the best was $64 in the Hoosier Lotto, decided I'd better quit while I was ahead.
Always tell my wife not to put in name, address and phone no. in every little drawing at the county fair (and me likewise on the internet). That's a tried and true way for sales people to get prospect lists.
