To use cat 1 implements on a QH it needs to be adapted up to cat 3 pins. 1 1/4 top and 1 7/16 inch bottom. One inch water pipe doesn't fit on a quality QH. Plus the ID is wrong unless a bushing is inside. For the OD it will work on the top of a cheap out of spec one such as the Harbor freight.

Land Pride QH10 seems to be $400~500 per a brief search.

HF what? $129?

Either is fairly priced. Depends on what you want.

For what I use it for, the HF is sufficient. (And was half of today's price when I bought it). But I don't rototill with it, that's the one implement that can't be made compatible.

There are other low cost QH out there that are closer to spec vs the ones HF sells.

The HF quick hitch could be decent if the clearance issue with the top hook was fixed along with making the pin fit closer to specifications. It is durable enough.

I bought my HF QH for $59 plus tax when they brought out a nasty dusty old box that was likely in the back for years. It was discounted to $79 but I offered $59 and the manager said fine but it can't be returned unless it is physically defective. I said fine and never turned back. I figured I could make it work for most of my implements and so far I have. I found one QH I would rather have that is a true category 1 at all three points. However until I get more attachments it is not worth it to switch.

I think SpeeCo and Land Pride have cat 1 quick hitches that use cat 1 pins. The Land Pride is a QH10. There are a few off brands also.

I'm modifying the Harbor Freight hitch to fit tighter. At $12 total cost (Rural King) it's not that expensive for precision upper and lower bushings.

I had Cat1 & 2 3PHs for a while so I put Cat1 pins on all equipment & slipped TSC Cat2 bushings onto 'em as needed to hook up to the Deeres. btw, never used my HFT QH, I'm off the seat checking/adjusting top link and sway chains/bars, hooking up PTO, warming up, etc anyway.

The word "Clearance" is part of the item description, not the status as to whether HF is going to continue carrying this item.

Do a search on the HF home page for the word clearance, items that are being phased out are denoted by the word clearance in a yellow arrow.

Well maybe. Today 19 of 21 stores in California's Central Valley - Red Bluff to Visalia, they're 300 miles apart - show In Stock plus 3 stores Limited Stock.

HF can't be losing money at $130. It was half that when they first sold them.

But I won't be surprised if they re-label it then price the 'new' one at double today's price.

I don't have a 3 point QH, but it seems since day 1 there are, have been many complaints about what it takes to make them useable on many or all attachments.. Are they any better now ?? ?? No worse ?? ??

The problem isn't so much the quick hitch as older implements that weren't built to modern quick hitch standards for compatibility.

had my HF QH since 2015, no problems unless you count operator errors. And yes I bought a bunch of the cat 1 to cat 3 adapters and one of Ken's Bolt on Hooks adapters and the top linkage adapter from Ag South. And I run everything from a 1954 JD P 198 Bush and Bog Harrow,1969 Hardee T 52 LT rotary cutter Pop bought these new and I still have all the owners operator manuals on these, since then I have bought Taylor Way 410 tandem disc's,
9913 Scarifier, Sunshine brand 16 disc tandem discs, had to work on this to make QH adaptable, and L P 1572 blade, Terra Force 062 Tiller, couple of TSC Country Line implements, some other stuff I can't remember right now. And all of them work with my
HF QH, from the old to the new. Best money I've spent cause when you get older and can't muscle the $hit around like you used to, work smarter, not harder. Good luck to all on your projects.

Stores in my area still have them at the "clearance" price. I've been using one of them for about 5 years, and it works fine with QH-compatible implements; the older ones may need to be tweaked.

I replaced the bolts and nuts that hold the hook in place, with hitch pins, so I can quickly raise or lower the hook, for the one or two implements that don't work without repositioning the hook.

The HF QH listing specifies

27-3/16 In. Clearance

This is the open distance between its lower hooks. Measure your implements to see if they will fit on it. You can shim the implement's lower pins (within reason) using washers, if needed to get to this width. If your implements are non-standard lower width, forget it.

The QH upper hook can be adjusted to fit near anything but replace the fixed bolts there, with hitch pins so you can adjust the hook up/down. And Speeco sells a $20 replacement upper hook with its holes offset so the hook sticks out a little, to avoid interference there.

It's a mystery whether

Clearance

means Closeout, or that word just triggers something in HF's listing software. The Closeout notice has been a part of the QH listing for years.
