Look in your gutters and you likely will find a large amount of media. I had a 40 year laminated dimensional shingle roof that was about 10 years old. When I inspected it closely it looked like someone took a hammer to the edges of the shingle. and there were places that the fiberglass mat could be seen. The insurance Company paid for a new roof on the house and garage.

Had a decent hail storm a few nights ago . Got out wifes car in a hurry hoping it would get it but it missed the yard and took out 20 acres of canola to the side !
