GRUBBING

It doesn't look like you have too much grubbing left to do...

Let ole Mother Nature have her way.

We had strong gusty winds overnight last night.
About 3 years ago the wind blew down a 30" diameter tree. When it fell it broke the end of a 12" branch on another tree.
I kept an eye on this broken branch as I was piling brush on the brush heap near the broken branch.
I would not drive the tractor under it for fear it would fall on me.
I figured I'd have to saw the branch off of the tree at the trunk.
Well, when I went up there today the branch was laying on the ground 2 feet from the brush pile.
Last nights winds blew it off the tree.
Mother Nature had taken care of it for me so I just pushed it into the pile with the tractor.

Got 2.1 hours of seat time on this today.
Had 3 of my neighbours here with 3 chain saws cutting trees up into fire wood.
Gave the firewood to one of them.

Sounds like you've been busy... When are you going to spread your dirt?

I was planing to have somebody come in to plow and disk the area now that the grubbing is done.
Now I'm wondering if just having them till it instead would be better?
After that's done I have a spike harrow that I could drag over it to smooth and level it out.
=====
About 30 years ago I had it plowed and disked then used the spike harrow.
The difference between then and now is there weren't masses of roots under ground from grubbing trees like there is now.

I'm wondering what problems these roots may cause with plowing or even tilling for that matter?
When I get this all worked out I'm ready to go with it.

I really think it would depend on how much seat time you would put on your tractor versus how much seat time you want to put on your tractor.
