Groovy tires

I think I'm a little off. I see a tractor tire and it gives me the same effects as when I see a plate of chocolate chip cookies.

I siped the fronts thinking that will help more with turning.

Please let us know if this pattern makes a difference.

I was curious after reading and tried to do some research on the topic and I could not find anything about groove patterns or why this would help with turning.

I would like to know if this will help prevent the front tires from sliding sideways when turning in slick conditions demonstrated in this video Do Front Tire Chains Damage 4wd Tractors? - YouTube

I just grooved the R4 tires on my TYM T474, first snow have been snowman snow and very moist wet snow. Could barely make it up in 4wd on death hill on my steep driveway on R4 tires, after grooving them I can go up slow in 2wd. 200% improvement.

Well, it has an 8% incline with a little dip where it starts a 10% incline, and it stops most vehicles if there is a little but of slush or amounts of snow.

Worn tires on Kubota M59, 1100hrs were slipping in mud and pasture. Grooved with carving chain on side grinder. Noticeable improvement. Ran them for a couple of years before replacing with extra deep lug, 12ply for loader work.

B26 fronts grooved with heated tire groover. Helps mowing wet grass on our hillybilly farm. Works good with what little snow we have. You’re right, R4s wear a long time with small tractors.

Think grooving R4 helps traction without being as aggressive as R1. Kind of a homemade R14. Prefer high ply R4 for loader work.

I like the pattern on the B26. Looks to be very effective.

I have the Ideal Tire Groover as well and I helped a buddy of mine groove the R4's on his JD 1025R. Made a night and day difference in traction. We also discovered that grooving tractor tires is best done on the hottest day of summer. The hot tires cut way faster and easier, the groover stays hot and you can open the shop and get the fumes outdoors while still working in the shade!

No doubt about doing it when it's warm out. I did mine on one of the last ~65F days of the season, and outside in the sun. It definitely got easier as the tires warmed in the sun.
