How hard is it to groove Industrial Tires?

What tools, how wide, how deep, unit of measure?

Assuming this will not decrease the life of the tire?

Might be a good summer project as a proactive measure.

No, grooving tires is a little bit more intrusive.

Siping is just cutting a line. Grooving cuts a small trench & actually removes rubber. Siping doesn't remove any rubber. Its suppose to let the tread flex a bit more & give more corners to dig in. Sipes are OEM on a lot of road tires these days. Basically a industrial razor blade or knife for siping. Grooving uses a U shaped chisel or heated U shaped knife.
