Grease trailer sleeve coupler

Hello I have a PJ 12ft utility trailer that has a slide style sleeve coupler. It has become increasing difficult to lock/unlock the coupler and I'm not sure how to grease or oil it. The style is like this:

It only slides maybe and inch or so (by design) and there's no want to disassemble it that I can tell to clean and grease it up good. I can spray something like WD40 under the sleeve but I'd like to use something that will stick and last longer but there isn't much of an gap to spray into and it neesd to penetrate fairly deeply. Any recommendations?

Never seize ... Pull it back, add a little ... A little goes a long way!

WD40 is not a lube. I'd ask/call PJ themselves.

You could try a motorcycle chain lubricant. There's also lithium grease in a spray can.

I use spray white lithium grease on my hitches. I also spray the ball every time before hooking up. Less messy than axle grease.

I would probably use Fluid Film spray lube. Smells awful but sticky and works great.

I use graphite spray on my hitch shank and white grease on the ball. While graphite in spray form will rub off, some does remain. I don't know if it would work it's way inside of the slide on your "bulldog" coupler or not?

It is most likely a build up of grit and garbage. Brake clean or WD while exercising it, then a powdered graphite to lube it. And grease or oil is going to attract dirt and dust and gum the works up.

I use this where I need a lubricant that wont attract dust.
