That's one nice chimney log. I save those for special event fires!

Yes, that's what I was asking.
I have factory SSQA, but I was just curious.Horst was the manufacturer in Canada. It was a heavy duty unit. I think there are now much lighter units available for the Kioti and I'm sure for Kubota.
I've picked up snow with the grapple for the heck of it. We might get some snow Friday. I might have to make a snow man and then crush it with the grapple.

 I like it! You should inscribe that on the face of your grapple!Grapple Man's Creed
This is my grapple. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
My grapple is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.
My grapple, without me, is useless. Without my grapple, I am useless. I must clamp my grapple true. I must haul brush straighter than my enemy who is trying to out-haul me. I must move my brush pile before he moves his. I will...
My grapple and I know that what counts in life is not the limbs we collect, the crunch of our lid closing, nor the smoke we make from the burn pile. We know that it is the results that count. We will generate results...
My grapple is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its tines and its lid. I will keep my grapple clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will...
Before God, I swear this creed. My grapple and I are the defenders of our land. We are the masters of our property. We are the saviors of my life.
So be it, until victory is America's and there is no brush to move, logs to haul, stumps and rocks to engage, or roots to grub. Then peace and harmony will reign on our tracts!

The heavier duty SSQA bucket on my LA724 weighs 365 pounds. By the time you attach a bucket grapple it's as heavy as a real grapple. You also give up a bunch of visibility and the ability to shake dirt out.But on the plus side you don't lose an ounce of lift capacity. The obligatory photo is happily attached <img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=454323"/> gg

Well I guess I miss understood as I often do. When Dragoneggs said he wanted a grapple and you said "A no lid grapple is the worst" I thought you making a joke about no grapple. So I came back with what I thought was a clever joke about no grapple. I forgot grapples are not a joking matter on this thread
I like my grapple so I will keep my grapple

Jokes go over the heads of some grapple nuts. Something to do with too many lids obstructing their view.
A no lid grapple is still useful. I managed to rip off one of the control hoses a few years ago and couldn't get a replacement for a week. I still used the grapple in wide open mode and got a fair amount of work done. I found I could dig out trash trees by the roots and then spear the root ball to carry them away.
Nice view in the background of that 1st pic!
A no lid grapple Is definitely the worst.
I built a "no lid grapple" many years ago and it still gets used a lot.----------------
