Found a great reason for two lids vs one too. You can shove a debris pile into a tree to condense it, and then close the lids around it. Try that with a single lid!![]()

Actually it was one bite! What I didn't show was that it was one bite out of a huge pile so the pile acted as a back stop. Also, the brush was very sticky and dry. My grapple jaw was at least a couple feet from the front of the load. More typically I roll brush over to compact it but I have used tree backstops too. No doubt your trick with the double jaw would work better around ornamental trees. I just push against trash trees and don't mind scraping the bark.Did you do it in a single move and bite? Didn't think so...I'm not going to argue one is better or worse. I just pointed out a method singles can't do. I have a 12' wide lane I'm working. With the grinder out back my tractor is 24' long. Pushing and crimping from multiple directions isn't physically possible like shown in your wide open field.
