Grapple for L2501

Hello
I知 buying a new L2501 with a grapple
The dealer recommended a Titan ERG 60
It weighs 650lbs isn稚 that too heavy
I want to be able to move logs for firewood around
I was thinking Landpride SGc0660
It weighs in at 250lbs
What do you think?

You're right 650lbs is heavy. But I like that style of grapple with the long lower tines vs the clamshell type. Lets you pick up multiple short logs or a load of rounds. I also use mine for brush and it's got more capacity there too. It's more versatile at the cost of some added weight. If you're only picking up logs there's special grapples made just for that. Frostbite is one.

650lbs is half your loader capacity.

Everything Attachments makes some great grapples and they have free shipping within 1000 miles of North Carolina.

It would be way too heavy. It would pick the grapple up but not leave much left over to pick something up with the grapple. The 2501 just doesn't weigh enough. For example I bought 100 6' t-post a couple weeks ago. I parked my tractor next to the bed of my truck and raised the forks bed height. I then put all 100 t-post on the forks. Just as I finished I put a half a roll of barb wire on top of the pile of post and the rear tire came off the ground at least a foot and I thought the tractor was about the flip on its side. After the fact I looked up the weight per post and they weighed 7.5lbs each. So 100 post was 750 lbs. my tractor has the rear tires loaded with rim gaurd. My 2501 is great and I love it but you have to watch how much weight you pick up.

Your dealer is WAY off. 650 lbs grapples should never be put on small tractors. You are right... it’s way too heavy.

I recommend a wicked grapple from Everything Attachments. I have a 54” model and it’s excellent. It is very strong and weighs around 300 lbs. I have it mounted on a L3301 which is like a L2501.

The weight of the grapple is 450lbs which is a little better
I purchase items from everything attachments prior, good people

This is a new tractor and 殿 one shot deal? I feel better buying it from them
They are hooking up the 3rd function and make sure it works correctly

450 lbs is still too heavy for the L2501 loader. What width are you looking at?

I just want something to lift logs
12-20 at most in diameter

No digging

E/A had emailed me they recommend the Wicked 50 or 55 inch

All comments are welcomed as I never had s grapple prior
