Most of you recall that my "city boy" grandson came to live with us ... he is now 14. Grades in school are A's and B's with an occasional C ... thats good compared to the F's when he first came here. He is playing sports, gaining confidence and friends ... Not to mention he has become my right hand.
This morning about 9:30 the school calls and reports that he has managed to let off a stink bomb in his first hr class (he's a freshman this year)... well I explode and tell them I am on my way to get him and I will deal with this.
The lady on the phone tells me to settle down ... he will have 3 days of in house suspension. He is in a room, no other students and they will bring his lunch to him, no extra activities and will not be participating in the Thursdays ball game ... I asked if the principle had given him a good whipping? No we don't do that!
Then I sat down in the shop and started laughing ... darn thats something I would have done!!
So I've decided he's having hard time in school for the crime and I plan on asking him this evening how his day went ... when he tells me about it, I'm going to tell him that it sounds like the school has it under control ... so lets get our chores done...and leave it at that.
When I told his grandma ... she too started laughing and said well maybe he is a typical 14 yr old afterall.
