An update to my post about the 12-year old girls indoor soccer game I watched a week or so ago. I went Monday to the 9-year old grandson's game at the same arena. If you haven't seen indoor soccer it is played on a court with walls like a hockey rink. Well the boys were aggressive. They went after the ball with as much skill as the older girls. Maybe a little more skill and a lot less roughness. I saw no tripping, no pushing with both hands, no elbowing. Unlike the girls it was aggressive play but no mean stuff. Plenty of being knocked around and knocked down but not deliberately. Not at all like the girls with all the tripping, elbowing, and pushing with both hands. The game was extremely fast paced and the grandson scored a goal with a kick from the centerline that went over the goalies head. Daughter said it was his third or fourth from the center line of behind while playing defense this season. Anyway, I guess it is just the girl's nature to be that mean while playing.
Their high school football team was runner up in their class in the state this year. Kid has a leg like a cannon. I think I'm gonna get him the equipment and get him to start practicing kicking a football.
