So I am working on a construction project as a surveyor and they are lending us a Polaris diesel UTV that has a front and back seat. I do not know the model number. Somebody dumped one on its side a couple of months ago a hurt his shoulder. They limited the speed and/or the throttle setting. Not sure what there goal was but I think 15 mph. I drove it yesterday and it was cold and it was running about 4 mph and on the return trip maybe 7 mph. This project covers an area about 10 miles by 7 mile, so a large area.
I do not really want to screw around with it and get in trouble but would like to bump it up to at least 15mph. I lifted the dump bed long enough to take a quick look. I did not see anything at the throttle where it hooks to the engine to look like it is limited, I could grab it and rev it up. It feels like the throttle is limited and it痴 not held back electronically by speed. Any ideas how the thing is governed?
