Hey guys. I was able to hook up and mount my tiller today. I had to cut the PTO shaft as expected. I didn't put it into the dirt yet but I am ready. Thought I'd share a few pictures for those deceiding on a small gear drive tiller for their compact tractor. I did run it at several different RPMS before going to the 540 range. It seems very well behavied (balanced) and given it weighs around 600lbs. (Per owners manual) I am glad.:D

When I get dirt and or dust flyin I'll let you know, EL.

I know, I know my rear tires are off of Barry Bonds old tractor but the tiller sits about 6 inches off center. (That is what the pic is supposed to be displaying) I like having gear drive as opposed to chain drive too. Really I was going to try it today but when I got it all finished my wife came home. I figure it is better to think I am just crazy instead of just stupid so I didn't try to till snow.:D Hey she don't need to know the difference.;)

good deal,

I am rebuilding, fixing a used FL 850 for my Kubota, replaceing the PTO, joints and finished a full service. If anyone has things to help me do it right the first time let me know!

Great looking setup. I had a Bolen Iseki 172 (I think that was the model). I always felt it was a little lite in the front end with something on the 3 point. Suitcase weights were a great improvement with stability. I would guess your model is more stable. Guy I sold my Bolens to called a year later asking about parts sources as he had flipped the tractor.

Maxfi....you are right, it is light in the front with just a 6' rake on it. I have been bidding for suitcase weights online due to dealers wanting about $1.00 per pound for them, new or used.

Yeah and Randy, my wife says it's like a new Tonka truck when our son was small...I know you just can't wait to play in the dirt with it.:D She also mentioned something about men and boys and the price of the toys;)

Hey I am glad to see some snow in the last picture. Heck here we have over six feet so far this year and I am still in the snowblowing operation. Won't be thinking tillers until late April to mid May.

Looks good though
