those of you that own Kias or Hyundais, have they been stolen yet?
apparently a tiktok video in 2021 showed that Hyundai did not install standard anti theft
devices on ignition key like almost every other car has. So apparently it's very easy to steal these cars
and Michigan attorney general just said fix them all. Huge number of cars between 2011 and 2022.
They have to install a sleeve of some sort. A really cheap part initially that failing to install will cost them a
hundred times more.
of course if you don't like your Kia, just leave it out by the curb...
personally I think their new EVs are impressive cars. Inexpensive Kias have a history of catching
on fire too.
I owned a Genesis sedan for three months, used, until I found it was sold to me with a known defective rear end.
Problem was dealer really, not the car.
and since I'm not a mechanic, having a decent dealer is so important. I have sure experienced some bad ones.
actually now I'm leaning towards a private repair shop. Very clear to me why car dealerships make all their money
in service, not sales.
but sometimes no other choice, if I want that drip of mine fixed, local repair shop said no thank you finally, said they worried about getting
it apart and not having right tool to get it back properly adjusted. Toyota has something like six specialty tools for these cars, just for suspension.
There is another shop in Doylestown, Zygmunts, that has done foreign cars since forever.
likely worth calling them and ask them if they have experience/bought the tools with these Toyota/Lexus drivetrains.
I really really do not want to pay the dealer 2900 bucks for a drip.
let's see, do I want to stop a tiny drip or use the same amount of money to fully pay for a summer rv trip.
hmmmmmmm.
speaking of drips, I gave my well to do nephew with all the collector cars
a box of white oilsorb diapers for Christmas. His "clue", we all do tags with clues, is
Because You Are Such A Drip
apparently his Porsche 930 is a dripper. Bet that's expensive to take apart...
