If penndot is like VDOT each jurisdiction is allocated so much money. How they spend it is up to resident engineer. Back in the day VDOT was proactive now reactive and it shows. I81 is a mess for example

Precious really likes the farmers dog feed. The turkey seems to be her favorite. She has slimmed down some and much more active. Hopefully this turns out to be a good choice. I have come to the conclusion that the food our pets eat has shortened their life span

26°, partly cloudy and a high in the 40’s for today. Looks like 50’s and two days of rain on the horizon.

Yesterday went by quickly, some computer work, got the “spare” RAV4 inspected. It needed nothing, which is always good news.
Helped a friend measure the spacing for shims mating the transmission to the final drive on a VW automatic transaxle for a KubVan.
Vet came and put the alpaca down, we take them to the large animal crematorium in Quakertown, so I used the loader to put her into the back of truck to take her there.

Not sure what is up for today, but I’m sure the day will be filled with something interesting.

Morning all, 21 going to 48 and cloudy.
Didn't get much done after work, trying to get some project tasks closed for the year.
Plastic snow shovel broke, ordered a heavier grain shovel. Metal shovel still works fine as backup.

Phil, your skills keep impressing, that mantle is amazing.

Our local roads are pretty good, with one getting done every 2-3 years around the corner. Now that the politician who lived there moved wonder if that will change.
Our road is a little rough, I talked to the local guys and they are redoing it bit by bit so it stays pretty good

Jeep off to the garage, oh well, I tried. But no blower is a show stopper and no time to rip apart the fuse box and it's myriad connectors.

We mix baked chicken breast and rice with our dogs food (Nutro) most days and she does her little dance when she see the chicken going into the bowl

Driveways all clear and steps are up to normal again. Cody reacted to the group of deer close to the house on green grass patches not covered by snow

Going to Costco to get tires mounted on daughter's car. She is very happy for the donation since she is struggling to stay afloat holding down 2 full time jobs

Cody is fed Blue Buffalo dog food sparingly but eats a lot of cabbage and celery. He loves it but lots of pooping for sure

Arrived home last evening to find that the Christmas baking had begun. Black bottom cupcakes and depression cakes were cooling on the counter. Here's the cupcakes.

39F and mostly cloudy @ 09:00, calling for a high of 44F.

Up waaay too early but it is what it is ...

Possibly a nap somewhere in the not-too-distant future ...

Pumpkin containers labelled and stowed in the freezer.

Dishwasher unloaded and dishes put away, reload started for Round 2.

On the agenda for today:

Dole out another week's worth of meds (Done)

Start van up and let it run for a bit, just to keep the battery up.

Take fuel cans over to the barn and get diesel for torpedo heater.

Grab more 2 x 4's while I'm over there.

More cleaning/organizing in the garage while I have it warmed up.

Move tall stepladder and MoJack into the garage now that's a little more room.

Get tile saw moved out of the garage down to the basement.

That will allow me to set up the rolling scaffolding so the furnace can be hung from the ceiling.

Probably do some more processing of pumpkins and winter squash since I seem to have gotten that started.

Put together that next 8' section of studs for the north wall in the utility room. Drill the holes for the wiring and get the boxes for the outlets installed.

Get stove pipe caulked and sealed where it enters the chimney thimble. Should be fun ... given the location (behind/in-between water heater and furnace)

Beyond that just see what else comes up.

Sure! Until it didn't.

I still think it was the garbage disposal wasn’t draining, like it was full of something, so the tube backed up. Wife adamantly insists it wasn’t.
