The dog had a great time, though she decided that since we weren't playing in the surf, she was going to follow our lead. She had a great time pouncing on and shredding the sea grass and bull kelp stalks (2" diameter chunks). The beach is just below part of the area that burned out in the 2020 CZU fire.

Greyhound rock and beach: Greyhound Rock Beach & Fishing Access in Davenport, CA - California Beaches

The beach was almost totally empty. Two couples surfing, with a cute small husky cross and a couple with a friendly black and white mix. The harbor seals were watching us from just offshore, which is why I wouldn't be surfing in this area as the density of sharks matches the high density of seals. Still, it sure was tempting to go for a swim as it was very calm, and the water was pretty clear. (54F water temp) There were flocks of brown pelicans that were ground effect surfing along the waves. We didn't see any whales, although it is the season.

Both going to and from the beach were delayed by accidents, at least one of which was fatal and completely closed the highway and sent 2x2 lanes of highway traffic down winding back country roads, creating even more congestion there. Our return trip went from ninety minutes to three hours due to the closed highway. All to bypass a half mile section of highway. I would comment that the highway is narrow, winding, and has far more side turnoffs than one might desire for safety. Despite having driven it for close to thirty five years, I feel as if I am in a two lane luge run, and I feel I always need to bring my A game to driving it. You definitely do not want to be evacuating if the forest has started burning as there are so few ways off the hill.

All the best,

Peter

I had those for decades, then I discovered these-
No more ball hanging at head level when the car is out.
Those are nice. But a short piece of tape on the garage floor that I aim for with the backup camera is about as cheap and unobtrusive as one can get. We back our vehicles into the garage, easier to pull out than pull in, and the tape mark works perfectly.

Wag, have you got mushy peas
I understand... however mushy peas are best on a meat pie floater, especially from "Harry's Cafe de Wheels"

WOW, that goes to show you how long it's been since I've been to 'Harry's'... I had no idea that they were home delivering or had franchises.

Oh, and 'Takeaway' = 'Take out' = 'To go'. :)

Poured first cup of coffee. 16° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 18° with chance of some sun shine. Got some Christmas shopping early yesterday. Hardly anyone in the stores. Spent rest of the staying warm and watching birds around feeders. Going to do some house work today.

Everyone stay safe and well.

Good Morning All.

I used a tennis ball for years also. Then switched to Chamberlain LED light similar to the one you posted. Recently installed a Pyle curb stop for Car and Mule. Pyle Curb Garage Vehicle Floor Stopper for Parking Safety 1PC Heavy Duty Rubber Parking Lot Driveway Stopper, For Car Vans Trucks Tire Wheel Guide Block Protect Bumper- Pyle PCRSTP11 Amazon.com .
Works good for these 2 vehicles.
Also uses the same stops on tractors. But they are not bolted down.

good morning all
heater roaring away trying to keep warm while it's 13 out now and only going up to 28 today.

I use a HF rubber chock on front left tire of suv, it works great. Beepers are already screaming but that is expected.

nice beach pictures Peter. Looks a lot nicer than all the rocks at Muir Beach where my sister is.

no plans for today other than going out to lunch with old friends on a cold day

coffee maker beeped, thank goodness, yawning away
but I did sleep well last night Thomas, surprised my legs didn't cramp.

11 heading up to 33. At least the wind speed has decreased.

Kyle, that will be wonderful if your daughter can break that horse.

Pony, beautiful beach. Sounds like fun with your dog. The only time I ever swam in the Pacific was either there at Greyhound or at Bonny Doon. It was about 50 years ago, so can't remember, but near Santa Cruz. I definitely do remember how cold it was. Worse than when I went swimming in Maine. But beautiful, nonetheless.

I don't understand how Brown can say no threat to students when they picked up the wrong person and so far don't seem to have any idea
who did this shooting.
Providence is one of the centers of the New England mafia. When I was there I remember the long black limos at times.
Should have brought some of the goombahs up there to restore order...

keeping your kids safe is getting harder all the time.
I hear what is said about not living in fear
but now we have to live smart too.

Good Tractor Morning,
Ct, 9 to start going to 24 with wind. Might be a bit tough working outside today 😉

Had a couple of our friends over for pizza last night. Nice time but I was starting to fall asleep just after 9. I can’t do late anymore 😂

Billy, we had a great time with Riley our youngest son’s black lab. She is really a great dog.

Plans for today are to try and make it through the day and get home so I can sit in my recliner 😉😃

Hope all have a blessed and safe day 🙏

Good morning TBN folks from Houghton MI again. Yes, we got home late yesterday and found it snowed much more here in town than at camp, but we still lived the good live there, at least for the weekend. :giggle: Got in our 1st ski ever there. Top photo is coffee on the couch.

17 outside right now, may get to 30 today.

Need to check under one of the houses this AM when the sun comes up. Seems the daughter is saying no water in one of the bathrooms. probably a frozen pipe. That place is so warm, she keeps it at 70 and you can feel the warm air just opening the door. LOL. The wind yesterday pushed the feel like to zero. Pretty uncomfortable on the tundra feeding the horses last night. LOL. The RTV ride out was like not good on the face. LOL. Darn cold.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe.

Good morning TBN!!
11 very cold degrees this morning. Supposed to be sunny and mid 30s.

Jeez, somedays it is hard to turn the on morning news. What happened to "tis the season to be jolly"?

Got the last lead injector cleaned up and put away yesterday. It was the worse one and will now last another 75 years.
Started to clean up the Magdrill. Won't be restoring it. Just getting it back in good working shape again. I'll finish cleaning up the Case and then try to track the ground short. Or as suggested I may just swap out the GFCI to a more robust wall plug. All of the garage is on GFCI so I can't just move top another plug. Plus it only has the one receptacle on a 30 amp breaker.

This thing is a beast. Probably weighs a good 60lb
At some point I need to go back to working on the buggy but no hurry.
But for now...

Time for a second cup
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

10.9 and that’s the low

Lost power at 7:29 came back on at 2:35. 202 of us out. Fireplace logs kept us warm. Holly slept like log I did not high in low 30s today the 40s rest of the week

Nice pictures Peter and ArlyA

Prayers for all our Country

We back our vehicles into the garage

But then I would want to relocate the charging station to avoid running the cable to the diagonal corner. This would be further complicated by it not being up against a wall.
But if I didn’t have a plug in hybrid, I really like the simplicity of your design.

Morning all, 15 going up to 30 and cloudy.
Dog still loves tunneling in the snow, but it's cold enough she only does it for a few minutes.

The electrical short in the jeep is most likely in a box called the TPM. It has lots of stuff and also every connector for fuses etc. Known to have issues like this unfortunately. All the wiring up to the firewall looks fine and none of the harnesses from what I could see even have the coverings worn.

Paul, lasers on the ceiling. Probably wouldn't hear or notice that with all the alarms and flashing lights in the car from detecting front/side approaching objects. Wife's car gets very noisy with walls around it :)

Neighbor never did get his tractor started, battery time.

be well,
