I got the bondo work done and painted again. It has a 60 mph paint job but at least now it is all black instead of black and rusty brown.

Good evening! Temp was in the low 90s this first Saturday in October. 900 tickets sold (online) before the "farm" opened and another 300 were expected to buy at the front gate. Every trailer was full after 11:00 a.m. A good comeback from the flood in July.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 57° with with mostly clear skies this morning. Heading to 85° with plenty of sun. Check of filters and oil for oil changes went god. Have everything needed. Found that a float valve that controls keeping water in garden pond level was worn out. Replaced it. Spent rest of the day relaxing on back porch. Not sure what I will get into today yet.

had a lovely day yesterday with my elderly friend here. She is 20 years older than me, 94 this year, amazing she is still getting around so well.
I chauffered her in her 2008 Lexus LS430 which she bought new and has 157k miles on it. Drove like it was new, what a pleasure

today off with another friend for lunch and hope to sit on her deck overlooking Pamlico River.

one year ago today I was marveling at the view the owner of this home had
of his part of the Rocky Mountains. Bet it's pretty in winter

Lovely day yesterday. Did some more mowing in the back 40 wilderness areas. Managed to get stuck one more time and it was a long hike to go back to get the RTV to pull it free. But on the bright side got my steps in

Frits, that sounds so familiar. I admit at the time it felt more like "losers walk" instead of getting steps in, seemed like half a mile back to the barn. And you usually have to do it twice unless someone has a golf cart and gives you a ride back.
I think those zero turns are pretty easy to get stuck

Mostly, right now I still have that box at the corner of the house that Popgadget explained in an earlier post. Everything is working properly in the house now, and we are expecting an excavator sometime this coming week

Frits, I like your idea of added cushions on your Z Turn seat? But wouldn’t it be better to mow those rough areas with a tractor ? Or is your tractor too heavy to go in those areas ?

Ct, 55 to start going to 80. Should be a beautiful day for my grand daughter’s birthday party. My youngest son told me they are expecting close to 50 people.
Kathleen made a bunch of cookies yesterday along with a large potato salad and a macaroni salad to help our DIL out with some of the prep work. She was in the kitchen all day and by last night she was pretty beat

Church is on the agenda this morning and then will go down the street to my son’s house to help him prep for the party.

Yes for sure the tractor would be much better at it but the spacing between trees is 6 to 8 ft making it difficult to maneuver without damage. Usually only do this once or twice a year to keep the weeds down. Once the tree canopies shade out the ground no more mowing is needed as is the case for the most of the areas. Some of the White Oaks are getting really big and will be around for a long time

you catch a rear wheel on a tree and lots of damage happens quickly.

when I bought my farm in NC I had to remove several pieces of twisted up implements thrown off into the weeds, one side bent back several feet. The economy brands of implements don't have very strong "arms" and they sure will bend in a hurry.
but then...do you want the implement to bend or something to break on tractor.

Taking a break from the buggy. It is frustrating me. Some place the kill switch is grounding out and I can't figure out where. Tore the new harness apart, the new switch and the kill switch with no success. :-( So I'll step away for a couple of days and see if it comes to me.
