Good morning, the low is 55 and going up to 79°F. Wind E 6 mph. 30% chance of showers.

I might get after some of the bondo work today. I can sit down to do most of it.
I need to fire up my wire wheel and clean up the anchor pins for the loader and recoat them with anti-sieze. I have an extra wire wheel so I wont be greasing up the one I plan on roughing up the body rust with.

Have a safe day all

good morning, 52 going to 78 cold at night but getting hotter during day

Lots of house chores got done and laundry yesterday
Fluffed up wifes bed stuff in the dryer and she said it was more comfortable and slept better

Mowed some overgrown areas and took the opportunity to mow normally wet areas. Only got the mower stuck once and hiked back to get the RTV to haul it out
So got the steps in at the same time

I love your creativity, lots of people can turn things on a lathe, but only some have the ability to be truly creative

That is certainly the truth, I can make all sorts of things that work well, but would only look good to a geek.

This became very apparent when I designed the old folks home. The township required plans stamped by an engineer or architect, so I gave my CAD drawings to an architect ( that drew everything by hand, he didn’t use CAD).
The changes that he suggested made a vast improvement in the design, most of his structural changes didn’t make sense though, I got him to roll them back.
So apparently it works both ways, if you have the artistic vision, you might not be as practical. But the combination yielded a stellar result.

Good Morning
It’s 54° and another glorious day out there. High of almost 80 under a brilliant sky.

Yesterday started with a visit to the RC club, then a quick bit of troubleshooting on the new geothermal install. The motorized ball valve that regulates the water flow was misbehaving. It was a bit different then the valves that were usually installed, same manufacturer, but different electrical configuration. He had it miswired, so it was an easy fix.

Next stop was the lathe for one of those projects that would only look good to a geek. A nut to retain the propeller and also attach the spinner. 5/16-24 thread in one end, 10-32 in the other.

This project is about ready to fly, but not this weekend.

Last task of the day was to load up the trailer for the band. We are playing at a fall festival today and tomorrow, so that will consume the weekend.
Looks like Monday afternoon, I’ve got to go to Boca Raton and back.
So maybe next week for the plane.

50 outside right now, may touch 80 today. Looks like a good day for the grass attack. All equipment fueled up and ready to go. Just needs to be a little more dry.

Got most things off the honey do list yesterday. Wife started clean up of the house, we lost a few rooms this year with all the estate moves. Lots of furniture to go through and nick knacks. Sad thing is I remember a lot of it and don't want any of it. I think the wife though is having a hard time letting go.

Kyle it helps with the SSA process if you have doctors on your side. My eldest had to get some documents from her doctors and those put a somewhat end to the questioning. Good luck with the process.

Hope all have a good day. Be safe.

Rswyan is garden starting to slow down?

Yes ... for a several of reasons:

1. I haven't been watering it.

Came to the conclusion recently, that this good weather we've been having isn't going to continue forever and getting some portion of the fence done (and those holes filled in) before the weather goes south is high on the list of my priorities.

Local weather dude was talking possibility of frost in the next week or two.

Our average fall frost date is October 16th.

2. It's just that time of year ... and stuff is looking like it's just about finished.

82.6F and sunny @ 13:30, heading up to around 84F for the day's high. Low this morning was 49F.

Spent the entire afternoon yesterday working on coating 8' and 12' square 4 x 4 posts. Didn't keep track of how many sides I got done.

Probably back to more of that today.

Moved the 12' round posts off of the wooden saw horses with the forks and onto the hay wagon to make more room for recently coated posts to dry.

Have one bill that needs paid.

At a minimum the hopper feeder needs refilled so probably get to that as well.

Beyond that see what else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a decent Saturday ... (y)

Ordered 15 quarts of Mobil One European Formula 0-40 to change oil on the van.

Fritz,

IIRC, your Sprinter is an NCV3 ... not a T1N like ours. And requires an oil that meets Mercedes spec 229.51.

I haven't really kept up with this stuff, but last I knew the correct oil for that vehicle was Mobil 1™ ESP Formula M 5W-40:

Mobil 1™ ESP Formula M 5W-40

From the link:

Mobil 1™ ESP Formula M 5W-40 is an advanced performance synthetic engine oil designed to help provide exceptional cleaning power, wear protection and overall performance. Mobil 1 ESP Formula M 5W-40 is engineered to help prolong the life and maintain the efficiency of emission systems in both diesel and gasoline powered automobiles that require an oil that is approved against MB 229.51 specification.

AFAIK, the 0w-40 does not meet that spec.

FWIW ....

Thanks for checking

It says it meets the MB specs 229.5 but has an expanded range for viscosity

View attachment 4184419

If you use that oil it may cause problems with your emissions systems (cat converter or dpf ?)

229.5 is not the same as 229.51

Good (Sunday) morning. Overnight Low of 8.6C and it's presently 13.0C [heading to 20C, according to the 'Liars'], light overcast & calm. Apparently that's all going to change this arvo/evening with high winds & rain. 'Tis the season.

I've successfully transitioned 'into the future' by an hour = my radio/clock woke me at the correct time and all of my clocks have been changed. I'll get my ute's one prior to heading off to Church, which will be happening in a few minutes, and then the rest of the day will be His.

That's about it, take care all.
