Drinking first cup of coffee. 62° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 78° with chance thunderstorms. Got front yard grass cut yesterday. Also got a new shower bench assembled. All Plastic instead of aluminum that always corrodes after afew years in shower. Made it off to local frozen custard shop for first one of the year. Need to spread 10 bags of mulch today. That will be enough for today.

Everyone stay well and safe.

Good Morning All.

good morning all, we've made it to Saturday
after long day yesterday, slept well, hope to have a quiet morning likely waxing the rv and probably riding the mower.

then this afternoon I go over to go swimming with my handicapped friend, mostly to help his wife so she
has a chance to go chit chat with others. Last time I took my friend into the pool he sank, for sure not going over
the four foot line today. Sadly I think his neuropathic condition is spreading and he is losing his muscle strength, so he can't
overcome the leg weakness through upper body strength. Going to have a quiet talk with them about getting in some help during
the day. They can afford it.

coffee pot beeped, thank goodness.

Good Morning from Central Texas,
At 5am 70.9 degrees and 70.6 dew point. Yet again mid to upper 90's forecast for the next few days followed by a little cooler (low to mid 90's) spell.
The USAF continues development of CCA (collaborative combat aircraft) drones, most often referred to as loyal wingman drones. The YFQ (Y=prototype, F=fighter, Q=unmanned) designations are used to name the currently developed YFQ-44A from Anduril industries and the YFQ-42A from General Atomics have undergone ground based testing. These CCA aircraft will eventually be all mission capable.

Good morning TBN!!
67 this morning and supposed to get mid 80s. Clouds and humidity today. I hope

Today is Cday...concrete. 8 yards coming in an hour or so ready or not. We ended getting an inch and a half of rain yesterday which was totally unexpected. Not the rain but the amount. Looked yesterday evening after my son arrived from Fla and a lot of what I wanted to pour on was in the river. Will need to go back down and get another look. Doesn't matter. After Thur night it would cost nearly a grand to cancel not to mention all the help the wife has gathered for the day. Shouldn't be this wet in mid August.

Time for another cup.
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

Wish me luck. Or as the wife would say "send good juju our way! :)

/ Good morning!!!! #210,487
64 going to 83. Feels goos outside with lower humidity...local weather man says our temps may go down into the 40s next week...August is so nice!

juju for you, Happ!

Roasted coffee yesterday...enjoying a nice cup of a Tanzania peaberry this morning.

Did a couple of hours of battle with poison ivy and bindweed walking the backpack sprayer through the woods. I have a tip for you...tighten the cap real well if you plan to bend over to re-tie your boots, or you may feel a waterfall rundown your neck and back and around to your belly. This was a rewalk of an area I've spot sprayed before, and I was real pleased at how little PI I found...but that just meant walking further to use up all that I had mixed, and covering a new area.

BEF, we have a second fiber company laying orange conduit parallel to the first company's that was put down a few months ago. I guess competition is good, but this new company should have notified folks that they were coming just before the first company went online, rather than just recently. I must say the first company was unprofessional in their install, but this new company is even sloppier...even made me have a dream that they brought a line right up my house without my knowledge and when I came home found a huge trench excavated and my shrubs and a tree torn out.

Good Morning Randy,
Yesterday I contacted the Wine Faeries to let them know that my Mate from Brisbane had depleted my wine 'collection' = a couple of emergency cases are on their way. Whew.
Wow, similar deal up here in Vermont. Youngest son and wife’s brother and sister and families deleted ours also 😳 Good thing we brought some replacements 😉😂

Good Morning,
Vt, 57 to start going to 80 or so. Nice relaxing afternoon out on the lake with our friends. Then we came back up to the house and and got ready to head out for dinner. I drove to a restaurant about a half hour north of here on Lake Bomoseen , The Lodge Restaurant, overlooking the lake and we were rewarded with a spectacular sunset 🙏

Today we will be heading out to the horse races at Saratoga Race Track. We will wave to LouNy on the way by 😉. Then we need to get by all the protesters at the racetrack 😏
Should be a nice day out, and who knows maybe I will get lucky 🍀😉

Got the grass mowed yesterday and did a good part of the trim, so place is looking fairly good for not taking care of it for a few weeks.

Hope all have a wonderful day 🙏

62 outside right now, may get to 80 today. Wow. What happened to summer? I just got acclimated to the heat and humidity. LOL.

Wife, MIL and I cut about 300 feet of privets down to about 3 feet. Darn things are not very cooperative around the driveway. Found a new way to entertain MIL. LOL. It was a long day.

Finally picked up my taxes, from last year. LOL. This year ain't looking any better. No comment. LOL.

Today I really, really, really need to start mowing grass. Still have landscaping to do around the big stump that is now mulch and dirt in the front. Need to get some more roots out and level it off as best I can.

Hope all enjoy the weekend.

#wngsprd, I could use your help with the poison ivy. LOL.

Be safe.

nothing new at the racetrack
I get the horse cruelty part, we did ban cockfighting didn't we?..., but vegan protests?
we don't eat horses do we?....
maybe we do...or our dogs do.
No, I looked it up, use of horsemeat in dog food banned in 1970.

Protests at the Saratoga Race Course are organized by animal rights and vegan groups who oppose horse racing, which they view as animal cruelty
. The demonstrations are motivated by horse deaths, dangerous racing conditions, and the exploitation of animals for entertainment.

dragged the hose around and got everything watered before a nice sunny day. Just lovely out now.
will mow the lawn later, then stopping at Popgadget's on way to my friend's home, hope to pick up some pulled pork
and see if we can swap out heads on my string trimmer. I'm betting we can't and incompatible. But all set to be
happily surprised.

on this day 12 years ago the sunflowers were blooming
and the veggies were coming in from our garden at a friend's farm.
my wife made a lot of homemade chicken parm red sauce with those tomatoes
growing sunflowers is fun but you really have to support them when they get big and topheavy,
particularly the mammoth varieties where the heads can weigh several pounds. Lot of bird seed.

Morning all, 72 to 84 and sunny, off to drop son at college.
He overpacked for the little dorm room, so we will see what we come back with :)
His GF came over to help him pack and she is coming with us to help.

Will be a long day,

Be well,

Good Morning
71° not a cloud in the sky and low humidity. Not much to complain about.

Yesterday was a good day for me at the model field, not so much for one of the other guys.
IMG_7159.jpg

Went down to the pond and sat on the new dock/deck nice fire in the fire pit, citronella torches kept the bugs at bay. Probably as relaxing as Thomas’ porch. You can see the bridge in the second picture. The fountain is further away than it appears in the picture.

Got the pork shoulders rubbed and in the smoker yesterday evening, a little earlier than usual, but DIL had a couple of spatchcocked chickens to put in, and wanted to get them done before their bedtime.

Pork came out this morning around 8:30, and turned out great. Filled lots of containers.

Today looks like the day for some fence post and gate work, youngest son is onboard to help, so I’ll follow his schedule.

Morning all;
Going to be a lazy day for me today. I never use enough sunblock to counteract some of my medicines when I get out in the sun a lot. Danged nose was seeping and weeping last night and my lower lip is all swollen up, makes drinking an interesting experiences with some dribbling involved.
Out for the out of the field tractor pulls yesterday morning. After my pull (disastrous), we had the tire pressure wrong and the weight balance was off, only made 149 Feet, last place in class, my brother with a very similar tractor made 249 and first place.
Was outside with my second cup of coffee this morning and saw something I hadn't seen in quite some time; a walking stick.
