on this day a few years back I harvested so many things in one day I had to lay one of
each out on the counter. Lots more not shown, all the early veggies like lettuces and bok choy, potatoes, etc
those okra plants would just grow taller and taller and taller, up to twelve feet until a storm knocked them down.
And then they started growing back up again. That is one tough persistent plant. And since each new flower is at top of the plant,
that's where the okra grows, and up it goes like a beanstalk. I don't happen to like the veggie or I'd grow it here. Plus it likes it hot and sunny.
In NC the food pantry clamored for all I could grow. Most folks had never seen red or orange okra, much less those little beer
barrel stubby types. Lot of fiber in okra and low calorie.
I loved to grow it, but would have to do it from seed to get the good colored okra seeds from Baker Creek seed in Missouri.
