Good Morning!!!! 36F @ 5:45AM. Sunshine and a few clouds. High 56F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Was thinking maybe I can wrap with rubber or silicone tape. Any thoughts? Initially was just gonna replace, but if not leaking, maybe not yet.
A neighbor uses sections of old fire hose to cover his hydraulic lines. He gets them free from the local fire station. I put some on the hoses to the grapple and 4in1 bucket and it's been holding up well.
I've been working on getting some old stuff running and trying to get ready to sell it. Old 2003 Impala, looks really good cleaned up but has a P0300 misfire code. Not sure if it is bad gas or what since it has been sitting.
Might wanna take a look at the air filter to see if there's a mouse house in there.

Your "yard art" photo makes my back hurt just lookin' at it, Mike.

I'll bet you saved a pretty penny on that axle, Paul. Nice work!

I use the reflection of a hand held light to judge the right amount of paint to spray. And I still get runs. Getting pretty good at cutting them off with a single edge razor blade, and can sometimes smooth them out with the edge of a paper towel if I can catch them before the paint dries.

My condolances, Ken.

I had just enough time to clean the rain gutters out before the home insurance inspector came waltzing down the driveway yesterday morning. She had software on her phone that told her what to photograh or video, and it took a couple hours. Good thing I got the gutters done, as she had to photograph them. Don't know what either of us would have done had I not brought up a ladder from down south; she didn't bring her own. She said the house passed inspection, but didn't know how long it would take to issue the fire safe certificate. I'm hoping the certificate will open up more opportunities for the new owner to purchase homeowner's insurance.

Weatherman was predicting rain for yesterday afternoon, but it held off until late in the day. I got several stacks of pallets moved down to the bottom of the property, out of sight from the house and closer to the burn pile. Put the land plane and 4in1 bucket on and groomed the gravel driveway to fill some rain ruts and spread new gravel on the uppermost section. Refuled the tractor at the very end of the day, getting wet in the promised rain, and stung by surprise hail.

Finished the day with a vegetarian stew and a couple dark brown Guinness stouts. I forgot to wear green.

Realtor and photographer are supposed to be here at 8:30 this morning, and I'll probably be busy moving stuff around for the pictures and videos. I'd like to finish spreading gravel, and drag a few trees to the burn pile if there's any daylight left. As of yesterday's forecast, most of the rest of the week was suppoed to be wet. Now they're guessing cloudy to sunny. I'm not complaining.

RNG, did you get the firetruck running? found a forever home for it?

Jackson & Perkins climbing roses came in, two reds and one yellow.
instructions say to soak them for a day so in the pails they went.
very nice looking plants, full of growth

this afternoon when warmer will transplant more of the lettuce and radishes.
beans in pot with insulation on top seemed to survive 30 degrees last night.
ones in ground, not so hot, kinda like that darker green your lettuce gets when it freezes
in the refrigerator...
beans definitely do not have the built in antifreeze that lettuce and radishes do.

47°F and thin clouds this morning, going up to 75°. Maybe 80° over in STL. Going to be windy here all week.

Condolences to you and your family, Ken.

Nice use of a boresighter, Paul. Clever.

Good morning, gents.

I think the washing machine needs a new board. Guy has worked over 20 years fixing these things.
something about there being a plastic tube that goes from the sensor on the board and tells the brains in board
how high the water is. He first checked tube for being clear.
He left, said would know more later.

well, since I'm not going to be washing clothes, best to head out side on a very
nice day and get some more clothes nice and dirty

interesting part about this morning was the small electronic box he had plugged into the washing machine
and was reading device on his phone. He was able to remote operate the washing machine on his phone with this box.
he said it was only done on GE family washers which include Hotpoint.
so their washers have a kind of simplistic OBD port.
unfortunately not very bright software since no fault codes

I went to bed after 11:30, but woke up 3:30 then couldn't sleep, so came downstairs. Watched a bunch of youtube, like some from Trex deck building and flooring, etc. Fell asleep probably around 7:30 in the lazyboy, and just woke up after noon. I recall my son saying something to me before he left for work. Was 25 deg when I fell asleep, now 56 deg out. I had turned the pellet stove on when I came down last night, wife turned it off while I slept beside it.
Paul has more scheduled today then I do all week. 3D printing looks cool, I can't think of anything I need.

66°F and .03 inches rain

Happy hour a good time. We managed to disappear 8 lbs of corned beef.

Guess I’ll be taking my side link to a hydraulic shop this morning with the hope they can match up the seals.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good Afternoon David,
I know you are totally off grid. And maybe that’s because the grid isn’t available where you are possibly.
Just curious if you ever figured out what your monthly bill would be if you were dependent upon the grid ?
Unfortunately in Ct they tack on all these extra charges on top of the electricity that you use. We even pay for the electricity that the poor can’t afford on our bill. 😒 That extra is called Public Benefits , along with a bunch of others. Anyway just curious 😉

The power company said I used very little power in February and congratulated us. Ha Ha we were without power for 10 days.

must be the day for washing machines
The new one was delivered and hooked up. The drain hose had to lengthen since I had moved it a bit to make room for a table. Very simple controls which is what I like. However it cost 3 times the cheapest one

landlady calls, says would you please go to local appliance store and pick out a new washer, old one needs a board and?
and they said not to fix it. Less than five years old, pretty sad.
So I picked out a basic GE with a 4.5 cf tub and it will get delivered.
I guess I may move one of my surge protectors and put it on the washer line, since that is 120.
could have been fried during surges caused by many outages

sure isn't going to be a nice one like Frits is getting but the repair guy said even Speedqueens have electronic boards in them.

Wife went to check supper, forgot to turn oven on... so we went out. Got a crab cake, was OK, but expensive. Loaded potato soup was very good.
Went to Lowes to show her the trex they have, only I forgot that Lowes didnt have it in stock, the other Lowes in town has it, but showed her the sample. Going to check if I like the next color that HD carries. Another day.

Dad was interviewed and on TV today for his 101 birthday coming up this weekend.

Good (Wednesday) morning. Overnight Low of 11.4C and it's presently 23.9C, clear & calm.

Yesterday I did call an arborist regarding a few jobs. I had to leave a message + emailed for a quote. No return call/email as of yet.

Today is 'into town day' for groceries.

That's about it, take care all.

Drew, I get snakes in my dug well every summer. Mostly Copper Belly Water Snakes. A first cousin to a garter snake but way nastier. If you are a mouse or a vole then you are in trouble, but a human not so much. I still don't give them the opportunity to bite me.

About 20 years ago there was an old lady that was complaining that her well water smelled 'funny'. When the top was taken off the well it was jammed full of snakes. Copper Bellies and Garters.
