Morning all, 38 going to 50, rain later, ground getting mushy.
Making my plans to go out to San Diego for next week.

They have not paid homeowners of car insurance for a long time. Brother is taking care of that. I will go down to follow up on anything he hasn't been able to, like did they pay fed/state/property taxes , HOA etc. His GF is totally gone mentally from the stress, but still being a PITA.

Happy birthday Dan

M7040 - happy birthday to the Missus

Be well,

When I look out our bedroom window ice storm destruction almost naked not sure what to do with it. Pine trees took down poplar trees and some water oaks. Might plant in wild flowers just not sure yet. Nature decided for a reset

There has been a lot of development around me as well. Fortunately for me, I’m surrounded on 3 sides by hundreds of acres of preserved farmland, the fourth side is the road. But with in 5 minutes, I can be stuck in traffic looking at 4 story luxury apartment buildings being built.

The only real upside to the urbanization is that I can leave my oasis and be in a grocery store in 5 minutes or so with only one stop sign to impede my progress. Lots of choices of restaurants, a Wawa, a large new hardware store (that unfortunately doesn’t have number drills, but has a great selection of Yeti tumblers).
Must be an Ace. I think ours has an entire aisle dedicated to Yeti items.

Good Morning!!!! 64F @ 6:45AM. Sunny. High 72F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
I was awakened about an hour ago by the wind causing the range hood flapper door to bang in the kitchen. Got up and went outside to retrieve a large sheet of cardboard I'd been laying on under the firetruck yesterday. It had only gone four feet from where I'd left it, but it was on its way to nowhere.

Did some paperwork yesterday to start, filtering out receipts on the solar power system to up the cost basis for this house at tax time. Then the last realtor showed up with pretty much the same story as the others told. Properties are in short supply, but demand is down because both interest rates and asking prices are way up. Add to that the super high cost of homeowners insurance, and not many buyers are left. Still some people are either financially blessed or have to move into this area for one reason or another, and the only way to tell if a property will sell is to get it on the market. A neighbor passed along another realtor's name, but after a few minutes on the phone with her I was still left thinking the first realtor I interviewed will do the best job. He was supposed to have a proposal to me on Monday, and unless he screws it up, he'll get the job.

Got a tank of RM43 sprayed before a neighbor showed up to work on the firetruck. He'd brought along a spare fuel pump, but we couldn't get anything to come out of the tank. Used my transfer pump to empty the tank and got seven gallons, so it wasn't for lack of fuel. I heard bubbling in the tank when he blew through the fuel line, so there must be some kind of check valve in the line. There's a 1/4" pipe thread plug in the bottom of the tank, so we'll use that to run a new line to an inline filter and then on to a new fuel pump and into the carb. Probably get everything from Amazon and finish it on the next visit.

Ran another five or six tanks of RM43 before the side-by-side overheated and I had to stop. Not a new problem, but one that wasn't remedied by replacing the water pump last year. It's not a problem until I start running up and down the hill at slow speed while spaying. Easy to live with because I don't spray with it very often. If the wind calms down I'll finish spraying this morning, otherwise tomorrow.

Power washing and limbing on the agenda for today.

TGIF gang!

65°F and no rain. Seriously dry.

Nothing major accomplished yesterday.
May have to remove fuel tank from honda EU7000 generator to remove water and clean.

Guys lost at H&F. Won 1st hand decisively and downhill from there

Made an interesting turkey meatball with eggplant, pupils, and sweet potato casserole.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Breakfast with the gang today, decided to skip the trip for today to PA for locust posts, will do that another day.
got word the pipeline work at the farm will commence on monday with tree cutting. Surveyors have been marking the ROW. We must have been one of the last holdouts, and a key one at that.
One of the breakfast gang couples is leaving for Hawaii tomorrow. On big island staying the kona side. They are meeting with family, so kind of a reunion trip.
Some success trying to clone hard drive yesterday, but one partition failed, so did chkdisk on it, and will retry another day, just not today probably. All the newer types of drives, and different sector sizes makes what used to be a simple job a lot harder.

Missed my bike ride yesterday, might try to make up for it today, which means I need to get going.

successfully picked up rv and have it back in the driveway plugged in.
lots of fun jockeying two other cars around but got it done.
Now going to relax with a cup of coffee, then headed out to start washing.
going to hook the water back up, tomorrow I can use it too, then getting very cold on Sunday.

time to scrub a dub dub

usually when I get in rv there is a big mental shift I have to do
since it is long and wide and to some degree tall. Was easy today, after driving expedition around.
I'm already swinging wide for that, I think anyone that has driven big trucks just naturally swings a little wide.

Buckeye aced my driveway but it does take some care, two big black mailboxes standing guard at the end.
I had to park both cars on the lawn and thankfully that part did not rut; pretty squishy out there.
If I owned this cottage I would sure put a driveway in front with a turnaround and then parking in the rear.
instead this is like a city alley. ah, like RNG's alley! surprising what you can squeeze in there.

time to go burn some calories and get some sun on my face.

learned a wonderful new word today, involving rv sales practices, which certainly fits cars too
there is a term called being "pork chopped" on the agreement when the load in the extras in excess of normal.
Like padding the freight or the dealer doc charge.
I'm sure I've been pork chopped a time or three
all little pigs go to the F&I guy to get slaughtered...

2 hours of scrubbing and that was enough for today. Got all but one side of rv cleaned up, will finish rest tomorrow.
worked up a good sweat

fiddled with nav system on volvo and reset home to my sister's new address in Princeton. Could not see where to delete
all old addresses. I think she uses her phone anyway.

Good (Saturday) morning. Overnight Low of 11.6C and it's presently 23.6C, mostly clear with some wind.
Randy, hope swelling comes down and you get some relief soon ! 🙏

Hope tooth gets better wagtail sounds like abscess.
Thank you for the 'well wishes' and things have improved... a lot.

Living in a small town, albeit one large enough to support a Dental practice, Medical clinic and a Chemist, can lead to scheduling problems... the short story is that the dentist is closed on a Friday, the chemist doesn't have any "over the counter" antibiotics and the Clinic was fully booked.

I opted for a telephone consultation, if my Doctor could fit me in, and then waited. Finally I received the call at 1610, I 'raced' in to the clinic to pick up the script and then to the Chemist. I also got some pain tablets & an antiseptic mouthwash. YAY!

Home to transfer the horses to Paddock #3 [for those keeping track at home].

Now then, the split part of the tooth was wobbling like a 'baby tooth' so, with the assistance of the antiseptic mouthwash, I was able to 'pull' that portion of the tooth. No abscess... I know what that's like. <whew>

A very good night's sleep was had (only one glass of Merlot ;) ) and the situation has vastly improved today.

I'll even get some 'tractor fun' in this arvo chain-harrowing Paddock #2.

That's about it, take care all.

The snow storm is upon us. At 1800 hrs there was 4" on the deck. It is supposed to end by noon tomorrow.
I'll do everybody thoroughly and give this place a lick and a promise. Sunday I can do this place properly.

M7040, Happy Birthday to your wife.

Wagtail, good tooth problem is NOT an abscess.
