Morning all, 44 going up to 57 and rainy

Talent show went well, son did a nice solo of a song he wrote. They all went out to dinner after.

M7040 - sounds like good progress all around

House across the street finally sold, asked 6.9 mil, got 5.4 mil, 19,000 square feet and indoor pool. The couple that owned it were nice, he is a developer so got the house from floors and walls to complete and sold. Bet he made a tidy profit.

Back to the day job, meeting with some directors today to move my side project forward.

Be well,

Good Morning!!!! 56F @ 5:45AM. Sunshine and clouds mixed. High 74F. ENE winds shifting to S at 10 to 15 mph.

Got a couple little jobs done in the morning, and vacuumed out the pump house. What a mess. Then got the mortices for the door hinges cut using a vibratory tool, a first for me. About equal difficulty as with using a wood chisel, but the wood chisel is more manoeverable and does a better job. But this was rough carpentry, and the wood chisel here is about as sharp as a screwdriver. Two coats of paint later, and now all I need to do is mount the door knob and that job is finally finished.

Realtor lady brought along a side kick/body guard, and both put on something of a show. They acted like they'd been drinking or something, they were so bugged out about the view of the lake. Spent most of the time outside commenting on it, about how well it would show in the videos they'd make, bla, bla, bla. Not many questions about the various systems here, they were comfortable not being present when other realtors were showing the house, and they wanted the full 3% commission. So the first realtor still has a strong lead in the competition. Number three shows up at 10 this morning, so we'll see.

Neighbor is supposed to come over this afternoon so we can take another stab at getting the firetruck running. Holding my breath on that one. Still need to get some limbing done while the pole saw is here, same with some pressure washing, and if I don't hit the weeds before I leave they'll be huge before I get back. Guess I know what I'll be doing for the next couple days.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin!

Good Morning Mike ,
It's not one house or two, it is entire lots that used to be farms carved up and developed. Sometimes hundreds of houses
I hear you Mike, it’s tough to watch that happening! We saw a lot of that here in Ct also, but a lot of the farms here were sold to the state and they can stay as open space !
Up in Vermont not so much, we have been there since right after 911 and not much has changed in that time frame ! 🙏

Probably will be felt in assessments to all adjacent home/lot owners over the next few month/years.

I always looked at our homes as a home, of course the investment value is well documented in real estate, we took an opposite path.

RNG, what is final destination for fire truck?
Ken, you have a very talented son. Where did he get that from? as Holly smiles....

despite it saying it's raining out, it's not, so went out and trimmed some bushes, and discovered
I had to give last rights to two Makita batteries. I tried them in multiple chargers and as soon as plugged in,
light goes red and fan stops. Unhappy charger, likely a protection circuit shutting it all down.
one battery was at least 12 years old, oem Makitas are wonderful batteries, but....
125 for an oem 5 volt vs 2 for 54 for 6ah clone.
I've had good luck so far with 8ah clone, but I doubt any will last as long as oem.
I think Makita must make a lot of money on those batteries, like HP with cartridges...

one thing for sure, first time I charge a non oem battery I do it on concrete and several feet from anything.

Morning back!

My county is big on easements, visual, conservation under a Protect Development Rights program. So they grab what they can, when they can.

A neighboring county, not so much. They have been rezoning, slicing, dicing, developing and trashing policy and rules that they had in place to "protect" rural lands.

One can see the difference when one crosses the county line.

Some people call it progress.

Good Morning,
Ct, 30 to start going to 51 ! Quite overcast now with a threat of rain but so far not much ! We are heading up to Vermont around 3, so hopefully the weather will cooperate! Our oldest son and family will be coming up tomorrow evening at some point, so hopefully the weather is Ok for them also !

Plans for today is to pack truck until Kathleen comes home and hopefully get a walk in between rain showers ! Maybe some odds and ends done around here !

Hope all have a good day ! 🙏
Good luck with the Vt. trip. It is warm muddy and sloppy here, 32F predicted 42F with a half inch of snow on top of mud were the snow was cleared about 6 inches of white cement on the rest. Driveway all soft and easy to rut up right now.
