Good morning!!!!

Morning all, 30 going up to 35 and sunny.
Most of the snow is gone now.
Had a few hour power outage yesterday, so ran the generator.
It stopped once, for unknown reasons, and then worked fine until power came back.

Talked to my coworker, at his new (to him) house he has 16" on the ground, bit north of Toronto.

Network issues this morning.

Got assigned an extra project at work, so will be busy, good.

Be well,

Good Morning!!!! 51F @ 6:00AM. Cloudy early with peeks of sunshine expected late. High 56F. Winds NW at 15 to 25 mph. Higher wind gusts possible.
Picked up almost 3" of rain yesterday, half of it in just an hour. Water on the back patio got 5" deep due to a clog in the drain line to the street. Tried to clear it with an electrical type snake, bt it wasn't stiff enough to punch through. Forgot I have a regular plumber's snake, so I'll give that a try today.

Got a few boxes unpacked and put away, and also called three realtors. Only one returned the call, and she gave mixed results to my questions. In one breath she said the market is brisk, then turned around and said that hard to get homeowners insurance and high mortgage rates are making it difficult for buyers. Leaves me wondering what is selling, and what is sitting. Hope to get the others to call back today.

No luck getting my weather data uploaded to Weather Underground. My system is reading the weather station just fine, and the data is going out over the internet, but WU isn't listening for some reason.

Good Morning
27° with a high of 33, clear sky and a brisk wind.

Yesterday I did make good progress on the electronics bench, to put it in perspective, this is after about 3 hours of work.

IMG_6110.jpg

IMG_6112.jpg

I will resume the effort today, the actual impetus was a place to put the new 3D printer when it arrives. It will go at the far right end of the bench.

I managed to give away another rack case, but still not a noticeable dent in the pile.

I changed the LED floodlight on the front of the shop, which isn’t a fun job. It’s about two feet above the end of a 24 foot extension ladder, the longest one that I have. So it puts me with the end of the ladder about my waist up in the wind and cold. When I took the old one down, the problem was obvious. It was almost out of blinker fluid.

I did take the bell box cover down with the light so I could prepare the cable and strain relief on the ground, as well as tin the wires. Fortunately it fit on the old bracket, so I didn’t have to deal with that. At any rate, the new one was shining last night.

Looks like today will start with fixing a flat on the “retired” RAV4. It’s going to get new front struts, tires and an alignment next week. However the tire decided it wasn’t going to wait.

After that, it’s back to the bench, and then who knows what.

Be well,
3.5 hours north of Toronto and I cannot see the top of my drilled well. It is 16" above ground by law. Some of my snow banks are 8' high.
The flood light that wasn't working last week all of a sudden magically started working again. I'll take it down and replace it in Spring.
Happy VD all

Good Morning to All who Celebrate! Currently 31° going to a high of 35° Partly cloudy and a little breezy. No ice on the truck this morning.

Snow amounted to barely a covering, but was pretty. Work was slower this week due to a big sales powwow south of here. Hey, after the hours we've put in. I'll take all the slow we can get. Realtor called me back about the property up North. Yes, I definitely want to see it, but not when they're still calling for 6" of snow! Perhaps March will be better, If I like what I see then it's time to start talking to banks and other various bloodsuckers. GF loved the flowers and chocolate I sent her, so I'm safe from that angle.

Still need to look at the Farm Boss, finish taxes now that I have all the documents and also need to get out and look at the mower. Spring's Coming, I can feel it.

Prayers for those ailing and recovering!
Y'all stay safe out there and be well! Enjoy the weekend!

66°F and .02 inches rain.

No tilling yesterday

Took way too long cleaning the wound up debris from the rotor. Worse than previous. Need to find a better way.

Guys won cards, but it came down to last hand.

Off the Hilo this morning. Sophie has followup with her ophthalmologist.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Got hit big time down here. 11” at Pearson Airport, and maybe another 10” coming over the weekend.

Daughter is scheduled to fly out to Houston to go on a seven day cruise Sunday morning. Worried that her flight will be canceled due to the snow and of course you can’t arrive late, because the boat will be gone! 😬
Hope she is flying in a day early if her flight is delayed. She might see if there are any cabins available on the RC 5 day cruise leaving Monday out of Galveston.

good morning, 29 going to 35 with snow this afternoon

Brother passed away last night peacefully with family around. He was not in pain was a good thing. Lots of memories of him growing up

Picking up prescription . 400 dollars ouch and that is after insurance and using lowest out of pocket plan
Condolences, I liked the picture of him on the Yamaha. Looked like a 2 stroke model street legal model. Somewhere overseas?
Scotty, sorry about friend.

Buyers have higher rates to contend with. Hope they come down. I'm glad to hear you're nearly ready to sell. It is always some math to figure out what it costs you to sit on the market, and buyers will try to beat you down too.... there is a term for properties that linger on the market..."stale" listings. Hopefully you find a buyer who appreciates all you have done for the place. Some will wish it had this or that, but let them change things on their dime. My home buyers had an inspector come, and I had to replace some wood that was water damaged, and put some paint on the back wood. They had already beat me down on price. I sold at the worst possible time in the Austin suburb market. 10 years later the home was worth 3X what I sold it for.

Della looking good in the snow and water....burrrrrr.

Ron, great pics.

We have my mom here. Been a bit of a roller coaster with her UTI care. She took an oral, 1 shot powder med, but spit some of it up. Had fever, but has since gone back down now for a day and a half. If this doesn't work, she will need 7 day regiment of IV antibiotics. Which means I have to take 5 days of sick leave to take her to the hospital daily on an outpatient basis.

Popgadget, now I know where to come when I'm ready to rebuild my old McIntosh MC2205 amp. :)

Work has been busy, but getting things done.

Prayers for our team, our nation, and peace for ****** and Ukraine.

Any decent piece of land I’ve looked at has a contract on it within 4-5 days.

good afternoon, 35 going to 38
High winds last night. Plan to get out in the back 40's to check for trees down

Picked up groceries including Surf and Turf for today. Also brought wife flowers that she liked. Hope she will feel a little better. Watched Casablanca for the umpteen time and enjoyed it as always.

Kyle, pictures are from Denmark. He recently rebuilt a car from the ground up with his youngest son. In the last phone call he was taking about how much he had enjoyed that experience

RNG - did you get the fire engine running?
What are you going to do with it?

Flowers and balloons acquired.

Popgadget, the power supplies and other stuff reminds me of my days as an EE. I do miss those days, especially when chips were all components and simple PIC types.
I stopped doing any real EE work not too long after ISA bus went away.
Did build up quite a few bus connected boards in my day, now they would all fit on one or two chips.
Some of our larger frame buffers had dozens of memory boards, with many, many fans.
There were a few test items on our planes, which were experimental that I see in the newer planes you fly many generations removed.

This was under contract, but the deal fell through. The house needs some work, but isn't hopeless. Not the best, but far from the worst.
I've seen places around me currently fail to even hit the market, handshake deals and done before the recorder can even keep up.

33 years ago this place was put on the market as a 'power of sale'. Over the next two years it didn't sell and the bank was slowly lowering the price. I grabbed it at $52,900.oo with no well, but a septic system (whitby bed), 3 outbuildings in questionable shape, 1456 sq feet with a full unfinished basement, a steel roof and 5 acres of land. Financed it all through the same bank that sold it. Been in it 31 years come this April fools day. 25 year mortgage paid off in 15 years.
I now have 2 wells, a hand dug well 21' deep and a drilled well 176' deep. It was heated with electric and wood when I took possession, now heated with furnace oil and wood. I probably could have done better IF I hadn't spent the first 20 years of my working life partying. But I did and this is what I have and it will be the ONLY house I will ever live in.

RNG, hope the rains aren't damaging anything. Seems feast or famine there.
not sure I'd want to be driving at night in rain on any road that could have rock slides.

Frits, hope your wife feels better. Happy wife, happy life.
of course you have a few others to worry about, and get joy from.

Popgadget, there will be a quiz to identify the number of tools on that bench and what they do.
Any man with an oscilloscope is THE MAN to me.... :giggle:
Got a THD meter?
I wonder if the base background distortion is now higher due
to politics
when you think about how much RF in general is floating around now, plus every form of microwave.
every car emitting radar waves in every direction, every microwave oven "mostly" contained...
we have a meter for background radiation, wonder if we have one for total
airborne microwaves reaching us.
need isolation and insulation
Ken, did you wear any "protection" near those big towers?

I think if I get one of those lead shirts from my dentist and make
a nice tin foil hat, Reynolds Wrap commercial, heavier stuff..., I'll be just fine.

Actually, United Airlines was so nice that they let them change their flight to tomorrow instead of Sunday, giving them a one day buffer. Also, the snow tomorrow looks like it’s not going to be very heavy before their flight leaves at 3:50 PM. Great outcome!

Good (Saturday) morning. Overnight Low of 12.7C and it's presently 19.3C [cold front came through], overcast, wind increasing with rain this arvo. There was 0.7mm in the gauge @ 0900.

A few tasks to do out at the 'tin' shed this arvo, but nothing 'pressing'.

That's about it, take care all.
