Drinking hot cup of coffee. 1° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 30° with partly cloudy skies. Got walkways cleared yesterday. Spent time getting my HP printer working so I can print out tax and HSA papers. Used a APP that HP has to fix HP print and scan problems. Did not watch Super Bowl. No plans for today yet.
February's Full Snow Moon will happen on Wednesday. But may not be visible here in Michigan because of clouds.

Everyone stay safe and well.

Good Morning All.

35 foing to 44..a few flurries out there now. The local weather guys differ in their forecast, but call for up to 8 in of snow tomorrow.

Had a good hike to the river, increased weight in my pack. Della got wet, of course.

Tried to watch the game but kept finding something else that I needed to do from time to time.

good morning all
should be a sunny day with high of 38 and nice
forecast for big snow storm tomorrow has dropped a lot for this area, half of what was earlier predicted

a miserable morning planned, getting mouth ground on to accept a crown is pure torture with my tinnitus.
going to find some happy pills before I leave

then with a major headache and neck ache, will go from dentist to deliver a meal to a friend.
She brought me home made soup, I'm returning the favor with a lentil dish.

hope you all have a good Monday.

I looked at forecast for friend's home in Milton DE
once again looks like more snow south of here, not usual
his forecast is 5-8 inches, mine is less than half that.
I think being close to the coast adds humidity and precip, but ?

my friend doesn't mind the snow, not a big driveway, smaller than mine, and out comes his cherished
Sears snowblower with a briggs engine from almost 30 years ago. He says it always starts and runs fine.
needless to say he takes very good care of it. He is the same guy I gave my Honda atv to 20 years ago because he took
such good care of machinery and it was being used at his NY cabin anyway.

This Spring I haul the Gravely garden tractor up to Arkville NY where it will join the Honda, each in their own mountain shed.
there it will haul firewood for generations to come.
my first Gravely traveled up there a lot, giving his kids rides. Now the girl in the wagon has her own three kids.
Now his son owns the place, and is getting my Gravely. it needs to be run a lot more than I use it.
and he will take awesome care of it.
everything is always free, this is pure friendship.
sometimes the best things in life are the joy you create for others.

Good morning TBN!!

42 this morning. Going to about 60 and cloudy. Rain probably all week. Probably more since I am going to try and get my bridge in.
Mostly lazy Sun. I did get some cleanup in and outside of my lean to storage and puttered around the garage.
Laid down to watch the game. That lasted about 10 minutes and I was out.
Wife had the dog most of the day but we still got 7k steps in.
Not sure about today yet. Might load the genny welder and plasma cutter on a pallet to make it portable enough to get the bridge site. Going to take some time to cut the ends out 8'x20' steel tank. Need to get my torches down there too as I will enlist some help for this project.

Time for a second cup and too see what this day has in store for me

Everyone have a great and safe day!!

33 outside this AM, heading to mid 40's. Under a winter weather watch for tomorrow. Should be interesting next couple of days with the snow.

Managed to clear some dead trees off my back fence line yesterday. Moved them to the burn pile which needs....burning. Oh boy, it's big. Dealt with farrier and animals for the better part of the day. Cooked dinner while everyone else watched the Super Bowl. I am the model house hubby, Grill meister and wing commander. LOL.

Hope all have a great day, a good start to the work week for those - working. To all, be safe.

Good morning! 45˚F heading to 55˚ with NE wind and cloudy skies.
It was cold on the tractor yesterday. It was 57˚ but the wind and clouds made it seem colder. There were few people there so I got to go home early to warm up and watch the kick-off of the blowout game.

The big news is the tulips started blooming, not the whole 200,000 but several hundred red tulips were on display. The first blooms are small and did not show up in the pic I took.

Don, those tulips will look wonderful
here they are like a red flag in front of a deer/bull...come eat me.
I've done better than I thought but deer population here, once suppressed by township wide cull, now
back in force.

still some ice left on trees from yesterday

Good Morning!!!! 38F @ 4:15AM. Sunshine and a few afternoon clouds. High 52F. Winds NNW at 5 to 10 mph.

The PO down south isn't good at looking for changes to an existing mail hold. I tacked on an extra day to the hold a few days ago. That, and there's a substitute carrier on Saturday. So that's the one that fouled up. I'll only wrangle it if the package is missing. So far, I've had no hits on the front door camera that would indicate a porch pirate snatched it. This load has my parcel box in it, so there will be a hopefully short learning curve to get the various delivery folks to start using it.

Spent most of yesterday bouncing around the house loading whatever wasn't nailed down into the van and trailer. Still have a few last minute items, like a garbage bag and the portable sleeping pad, to go in this morning.

I also found my mislaid squeege, so got all the windows washed, and cleaned out the tracks on the outside of the sliding doors. Need to bring back the silicon spray to give the tracks a good drink on the next trip, which should be the last.

One of those windows on the south side of the house has some kind of film on it, probably to reflect heat. It has gotten cloudy, and I haven't decided if I want to remove it or not. There's a fantastic view of the canyon out that window, but almost next to it is a sliding glass door, so having the window crystal clear hasn't been a big deal for me.

This'll be the last trip for the 7x16 trailer, and I hope to get it sold in the next few weeks. It'll be replaced with another drop ramp box trailer, but a smaller one, maybe with just a single axle. Then I'll also sell the 5x8 utility trailer I refurbished last summer to make enough room on the side Drew parked his RV when he visited.

No football for me yesterday, just not much of a fan and had too much other stuff to keep me busy.

Hope everyone's week gets started off on the right foot!

Good Morning to All who Celebrate! Currently 32° going to a high of 39° and cloudy. No ice on the truck this morning.

I've been grappling with a cold since Friday night, a pretty nasty one that either my mother or my boss kindly managed to gift to me. Hate being sick on Fridays because you know the whole weekend is shot. And that was indeed the case this weekend. Ice Storm was a flash in the pan here, still watching the storm on the horizon. Hopefully this is the last gasp of winter, despite what that oversized mouse out west says. (Punxsutawney Phil).

Came to work mainly to not abandon my boss on Mondays, which are usually crazy. So far it seems pretty sedate. I'll probably pack up here in a little bit and continue nursing my cold.

Main goal is beat back this cold, then schedule a time to go look at the house up north, figure out what the tractor needs for it's 100 hour service, then the farm boss and maybe look at the mower if I have time.

Prayers for those ailing or recovering!
Y'all stay safe out there and guard your health! Enjoy the week!

Morning all, 29 going up to 38 and sunny.
Late night at Cousins, they had about 5" of snow up there, roads were all fine.
Eagles won, what more to say, certainly glad did not have to travel anywhere near there last night.
Did get to see the Empire state building light up green when the game ended and we were on our way home.
Also passed the radar I worked on when I was in my twenties outside Newark airport. I worked on this exact tower when it was back at republic airport in Long Island. Hard to believe they are all still operational so many decades later (and decades after they were slated to be replaced).

Found out my pills went up t0 $240/month now that the discount ran out , that's with insurance.. :(

Be well,

36°
Let my class out 5 min early, got home start of 2nd quarter. First supper bowl (cause we eat) or pro game I’ve had on in years. What did they do with the kickoff, where everyone stands and watches? That was weird.
Anyways, had chips and queso, and was hoping for good commercials, but that was a strikeout.
Latest snow prediction for tomorrow is 3”, down a good bit from early hype, and coming later than predicted also. Will mess up my son’s work day, not mine.
Need to hop on bike soon

Good Morning.
32° and sunny with a high in the middle 30’s. The sun should help melt the ice.

Yesterday, I made real progress in the shop, tweaking my thread cutting setup, verifying my newfound knowledge from YouTube university.
Cleaned up and organized quite a bit. It’s amazing what a difference just organizing and putting things away can make.

Had a nice visit next door with son and DIL before starting a fire and putting my feet up.

IMG_6092.jpg

A rare event for me, I watched the game, I’m not usually a fan of professional sports. I have flown clients to previous super bowls and declined free tickets to the game.
I still think I had a better seat here in front of the fire.

IMG_6091.jpg

Not sure what I’ll get into, but I’m headed over to the shop shortly.

good morning, 34 going to 40 with winter storm watch in effect for tomorrow afternoon, wind gusts to 16 MPH

Seems that the predicted snow fall is less that than the previous forecast

Changed the filters on the mini split with the spare set and cleaned them with soap and water and left to dry for next time

Plan to return the cleats to ups place. More firewood to bring up to the house to last through the next few days with weather fronts with snow and ice.

Wife got some bug that caused her vomit, feeling very cold etc. Hope she can get over it. I am always very careful with contacts to not carry it home and expose her with compromised immune system.

64°F and no rain

Mostly successful with rototiller yesterday. Got a planting plot nicely tilled for Canada Dave then started on my guinea clumps. Likely take 2 or 3 passes to get desired results but even a single pass was a dramatic improvement. Just gonna take time.

Nice afternoon watching the game. Congrats Eagles.

HH this afternoon at a neighbors. I’m making a variation of my roasted curry kabocha soup with shrimp

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
