Thanks for letting me vent.
Vent away, Mate. That's what we're here for...

--------------------------------------------------------------

Good (Monday) morning. Overnight Low of 16.6C and it's presently 23.9C, mostly clear with some wind.

Lovely Sunday, although the baptism was postponed due to 'illness'. Very humid what with drying out from the rain.

Hopefully I can get in a mowing today after clearing that wattle branch that came down last week. More rain predicted for tomorrow.

That's about it, take care all.

30deg,
Home from VA. Took about 40 minutes longer due to double detour because of I81 backup. Was going up Rt11, but it backed up for miles by people jumping off of I81, so had to take another route. Been that way before. By this mill, the water wheel was turning
IMG_9046.jpeg

Cat's did fine, we left Tiger loose in the car and he mostly laid on my wifes lap most of the way. We gave him his meds before we left, and they worked.
Got hose off the hose bib, it was dry, the water had leaked down. But also undid the hose on the ealy reel itself.
Water tank will get drained tomorrow.

Morning all, temps have been in the 20's at night, 45-50 daytime. We got a quick 1 1/2" of snow last Wednesday night, but all gone by Friday.

Maybe a little better here at the homestead..... I was able to bring Dona home yesterday, albeit probably for only a short time.

Her back is really messed up, definitely requires surgery. It's affecting her walking ability and any movement other than sitting. Unfortunately, now on a "back burner".....

Her bloodwork was so out of wack, that became the primary concern. She was teetering on the edge of major collapse. Almost a liter of fluid was aspirated from her lung.

Then came the really bad news.... the abnormal labs are being caused by cancer. They did three biopsies, still waiting on results of "what type" of cancer. We talk to the oncology team on Monday.

Needless to say, we are trying to wrap our heads around this. Need to plan for the road ahead if that's even possible......

Thanks for letting me vent.
Ted, prayers for Dona, you, and her medical staff. Also for divine healing.
Please vent all you want, that's what we do here.

A Blessed Advent Season to ALL!
Yes, a special time of year. Lit the first candle at church today.

My buddy with the new house, just bought a 98" Samsung TV for $4000 on sale from $5K. I told him I might have to sit on the back porch to watch it. He still has some plumbing and electrical issues. Has to get the tradesmen back over.

Really nice day here weather wise. My son had his girlfriend over almost all day. She went to church with us, and we had a nice lunch after. They watched The Princess Bride (1987).

Big football game did not go our way. Back to work tomorrow. Will focus on helping students learn and earn their degrees this week.

RNG, I need clarification. Were you going to ride ebikes to intentionally slow down traffic?

Popgadget, too cool. Do you have to deal with O2 supply?

Buppies, my buddy with the new home project has 2 Goldens that we spent a lot of time with last week. He takes them all over town in the back of his truck. They love riding. Prayers.

TxDon, the traffic thru our town was bad for all the travellers. So many. I kept trips to a minimum.

Prayers for our team, America, Ukraine and ******.

21°F and cloudy this morning, got up to 33° today with some sunshine, which helped to melt some of the snow. We got about 2", as expected.

Shoveled off the concrete pad at the top of the driveway yesterday evening just as it was fading to flurries. All clean after today's sunshine. Going down into the mid-teens the next two nights, then a high of 50° for Wednesday. Weeeee!

Got a whole lot of nothing done today, and did it to the best of my abilities. OK, that's not entirely true; I did get some laundry done.

Thanks for all of the kind comments about Samuel.

We're all thinking about you and your wife, Ted.

Good evening, gents.

Good evening all. 32ºF for the start, clear sky, light breeze. Light wind, clear sky, and high temp was 60ºF. Made coffee, help setup chapel, attend, and tear down chapel. Went to breakfast with group, cleaned leaves off front porch and around golf cart door, nap, watched some football, split wood, made chicken chalupas for dinner, and shared with stepdaughter and her hubby

Went out and packed the snow into the gravel driveways anyway. Lost one customer, he doesn't have a car any more.

Hwy 11 (the primary way to get from Toronto to North Bay) is closed. It has been closed for two days due to snow and stuck vehicles. It is closed for 64 miles. Gravenhurst (right in the middle of the trip from Orillia to Huntsville) got 55". The weather guessers are suggesting flurries for the next two days and then more snow. I have seen me plow 18" of flurries from an overnight dusting in the past there.
I am happy that I got my 'down south' trip taken care of on the 14th.

good morning all
mighty cold out, 20 going up to 40 in sunshine today

am off around 9:30am to take rv down to winter parking spot.
Need to wait til after rush hour traffic, friend is picking me up at 11am.

got email last night from neighbor saying the lights were no longer spinning inside my giant snowman outside.
lights still on, but not spinning. She lays in bed and watches it across the street, guess I'd better go investigate this morning.

I wonder if Popgadget knows how to fix snowmen? ;)
Ted is doing ok, dealing with a lot of bad news and life changing realities. Lots of prayers for his lovely wife.

   / Good morning!!!! #200,053
23 shooting for 40.

Nice ice, Ron...always fun to see the designs in the bird baths after a windy freeze.

BEF, where's that working mill/water wheel?

Completed all of our outside decorating yesterday in the cold wind, but that made it feel like winter. But first removed all the pumpkins my wife used for autumn decorating...so many that it required the use of the FEL bucket...and since I was bringing in a load of firewood anyway, tractor got a pretty good workout.

   / Good morning!!!! #200,056
good morning, 22 going to 37 very cold for this area

Leaving this morning for Cardio check ups for wife and myself. Lab work already done

Picking up groceries on the way back

Shopped at HF yesterday and found a few things I could use among those the dog eared hose clamps I was missing and larger flip out ICON work light. Can never have too much light in the shop when working in tight places

Good Morning,
Ct, 19 to start going to 38, supposedly! 😉 Kathleen is going shopping with a couple of her girl friends today ! So far the only responsibility I have is to install the 4 ft snowman outside our front door !😉 Hopefully that’s all !

Looks like I may work Wednesday, some light snow coming on Wednesday night into Thursday!

Before we left for Vermont on Friday I noticed the lower radiator hose on my Ford Model A was leaking when I ran the engine for a few minutes, I may get in and replace that if it warms up enough ! 😉

Hope all have a good start to their week! 🙏

   / Good morning!!!! #200,058
22 outside this AM, heading to mid 40's.

Still a lot to do stuff on the list in the Milk House. Kind of cold for painting in the barn so I will have to rearrange stuff in the MH to get the bathroom door in there to paint. Managed to get the kitchen counter tile cut yesterday. I think I got more water on me than the tile due to the wind. It ate up a good portion of the day, and day light just doing that. Just need to set it in place now. Getting the equipment setup and tore down I lost some more time. Day light is a premium now.

The wood stove got used again last night. Nice and toasty took the chill right out of me. Still need to get into the back forty while it is dry and recover some some candidates. It is on the list.

Not much else going on, the end of the storm I guess. It would be nice to have the Milk House finished this week. It has been a long project, interesting, fun at times, frustrating....but way too long.

I hope all have a good start tot he work week. Be safe.

We were above average temperature wise for so long that it's hard to get used to reality.
26 now at aboot 8AM rocketing to low/mid 30s today.
No precip. so we're good that way. Sun cloud mix.
I had been delaying a number of jobs because...
1) I'm lazy
2) It seemed like the warmer weather wouldn't end.
3) I'm a master procrastinator
Now I'll have to do some things in the cold.
I deserve it.
Best wishes to all needing them.
Santa is watching, be good... or bad if that's more fun.
The old SOB doesn't scare me anymore.

   / Good morning!!!! #200,060
Good morning! 36˚F heading to the mid 60s, sunny skies , N wind.
Prayers for Dona and LS during this difficult time.

Christmas decorations and outside lights are up. Only a 3 foot ladder was needed, hedges are full of lights instead of the dangerous roofline.

Ron, your pond looks like a crater.

I saw a giant 20' Snowman at the AT HOME store and thought of Drew. It was huge! But I cannot compete with Drew. Our community does not allow plastic blow up figures and that's ok with me, saved $200.
