Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 12.9C and it's presently 18.5C, lightly overcast & fairly calm.

Yesterday's 'into town' was successful. Arvo turned very warm, for here, at 30.1C.
All was 'going well' and then... I received an email that I had a message from "myGov" regarding my OAP application. Bugger. Yes, more information was required and, of course, what 'they' required was confusing (with acronyms) as all get out.

I called the provided phone # and, after a half hour on hold, talked to a very helpful bloke who was able to explain what I needed to do to. <sigh> Well, this is the reason to apply months in advance... it's never simple or straight forward.

So, today will be spent getting the 'form' required, then waiting for it to be completed by the relevant authority. I have an evening supper/meeting later on.

That's about it, take care all.

Back home from a fun day in PA.
Went up to Raystown lake, then a visit to wife’s 1st cousin, who is Mennonite. She had fun showing us around. Her “retired” husband still helps their son milk cows, 3AM and 3PM, plus helps his family also on their farms. Went to one of their kids butcher shop, where they gave us a tour, they had just cut the head off a cow. They gave us some frozen beef sticks to bring home. Went to an Amish store, lit with kerosene lights inside. Had a great supper with them. Took 2.5 hours to get home. They also gave us homemade potatoe chips they fried last night

good morning all
house warm this morning, low 60's out going up to mid 70's. Very nice Fall weather but
we sure could use some rain.
taking rv to shop this morning, friends who live in Lederach will pick me up and we'll go back to New Hope and have
brunch at Duck Soup in New Hope, nice cafe with good food.

Dennis, that's a wonderful picture.

hope to keep working on shed this afternoon. I have a solar powered light to install inside.
very pleased with how well this shed is made, even the two windows operate smoothly and are nice quality.
Now I paid hundreds extra to get those heavy duty barn hinges, but the rest of the hardware is good.
The two foot deep potting bench on one end was well supported on one end, but not the other other, so i reinforced it
all with heavy brackets.

quickly became clear that an 8x12 shed will not hold all my stuff. I just don't use the Club Car golf cart enough and on a one acre lot, I should be walking anyway. Although yesterday it did help with hauling limbs but I can pull a little wagon also.
anyone on East Coast need a really nice golf cart with pickup bed in back? I might deliver...
not free but reasonable and cart looks like new

got word back from my friends with cabin in Arkville NY he would be ecstatic to get my Gravely tractor, and promised it would be well taken care of and always garaged. Not sure when I can haul it up there

big batch of blackberries ripening, hope I get them before birds do.

   / Good morning!!!! #199,047
Drinking warm cup of coffee. 46° with partly cloudy skies. Heading to 57° with partly cloudy skies. Got neighbors lawn roller and rolled back field trails. Rolling them makes it much easier for me to take Sassy for her walks. After getting it done found Moles had already put their mounds back up. Put Traps out.
drained water out of roller and returned to garage. Took Sassy for a walk on trails. She likes the smoothness also. Grocery shopping this morning. Then some leaf control.

Everyone stay well and safe.

Good Morning All.

Ron, some old roller pics for you
learned not to have trucks come to barn in the Spring, what a mess.
Roller worked well but this was the job I knew I needed ag/R1 tires for back of Gravely.
Which are on there now.
older pic, still had original KT19 Kohler in there, was replaced with 23 Briggs Vanguard and ag tires.
white stuff on mower deck is slippery plastic, specifically for mowing close to graveyard headstones.
I rarely hit them but when I nudged one, no red paint left.

Good morning TBN!!
62 this morning and going to a nice 77 this afternoon. Going to be nice for a couple of days with some more rain expected on Sun. Yesterday turned out much nice then expected.
First order of business was to pull my makeshift walking bridge out of the river. Turns out I didn't need to pull it out but better safe then sorry. I should find something different to put on the ladder. I have a steel plate about 10 ft long for part of it and it's quite heavy even to get a chain around to lift. I'll put it when we need it.
Talked to FEMA again and looks like it will still be another week or so before they send someone out to look.
Also talked to my "bridge guy" and he is still looking for another steel tank.
Oh well, I guess these things take time.
Did some leaf wrangling in front of the garage but not much as leaves are wet. Just want to keep them away from the doors because apparently there is a rule somewhere that says rogue leaves shall blow in to open doors!!
Got 9500 steps in and called it a day.

Everyone have a great and safe day!!

60 outside right now, heading to upper 70's.

Hopefully I am home on the farm for the next week or so. Met car appraiser yesterday at in-laws. He was impressed and said so. Thanked me for being honest and giving good evaluations. Said the dollars jumped and will provide figures by today. We have some issues getting the in-laws to agree on giving up the car collection and getting contracts on the house. They are waffling. They really should have no say in timing and direction on any of this as they are not in the state anymore and their state of mind is IMHO not right. Personally I just spent the last three weeks cleaning up their place and trashing mine in the process to get their house on the market. It was not fun.

Too bad I never remodeled/renovated or replaced my large equipment shed, the cars could have come here and sat for a while until the waffling stopped. LOL. I am at the point where car projects are a thing of the past. It's all turn key and go for me now, almost there with renovating/remodeling/building too. Speaking of which, I need to get a cabinet hung in the Milk House and another on built up for the water heater cover.

We still don't have a fridge in the farm house. LOL. I think that makes it two or three months trying to order one. Seems there is a void for simple white refrigerators in the market at this time. Freezer on bottom. Pretty sad.

Got lots of ketchup and planning to do stuff, today. No movement on my dad's estate, Lawyers and the government are holding me up. Yet another SMH situation. Stuff should not be this hard.

Hopefully all are having good days. Be safe in whatever you undertake. Stay positive. Speaking of which, I need to get the battery back in the ZTR and mow...all this warm weather has stimulated the grasses.

65 going to 80, maybe a shower.

Waiting for a little rain before I tackle the leaves. It's just too dusty to mulch them with the mower. May cut some firewood, or just take Della for a hike and swim again like yesterday. Such a warm day even the cold river water felt good (up to my knees).

Drew, that is indeed some mud you have there !

🙏
did have Scott, sold the farm four years ago
thankfully took so many pictures I can revisit any time I want

yes, that mud was a learning experience, was getting a diesel tank installed and that Kenworth was coming in.
what a mess. Took me months to get it looking normal again
ten acres of lawn, always liked mowing
I know it's not ecologically sound, etc etc.
but to me it was just another plant and I do love gardening

David, that last picture looks like you are trying to cut down the Amazon jungle.
I'm amazed your tractor will mow that.

Morning all, 65 going to 75, cloudy, no rain.

So it seems the engine is trashed on wifes car. Calling scrap places to come get it.
We were hoping to get another 5 years out of it. Now she is shopping for our next used car.
Really bad timing as need to keep putting money away for sons college.

Seems my retirement moved farther away again.

BEF - now that sounds like a great visit!

Weirdly enough, still getting blackberries and tomatoes in November...

Happy birthday Scotty!

Be well,

Hornets nest wonder if I can get it with pellet gun? Only about 70-80 feet up!
