40 heading to 58. Got some rain yesterday, unfortunately it came while we were hiking far from the truck.

Ron, why would they shut down the freeway for so long?

They've been installing fiber underground all around here...finally. It's interesting to see the boring machine going under roads and farmland.

Fall colors on the maples are getting near peak. The yellow poplars are pretty much over, but the hickories make up for them. Oaks are still green. Seen above average acorn crop...the wildlife service does a survey of the mast crop each year and says this year is very spotty.

Cleaned up some old fence wire and posts and made a dump run. Today may be Costco and flu shots.

Wngsprd, they have been working on this freeway project for 3 years. Nothing makes sense with what they have been doing with shut downs. The county dirt road I live on is like a freeway some days. Today freeway is already down to 1 lane in each direction. This is a 4 lane freeway.

Ct, 36 to start going to 54 ! No rain in sight but we need it !

Got my Flu shot with a dose of 19 serum. Have a sore arm this morning.

GM Ron, yep sore arm was with me for a day or two ! Other than that everything seems Ok !

Got garden cleaned up yesterday and even pulled in a few stragglers, some peppers and cherry tomatoes! Also took the canvas top off of our little gazebo on the back deck.

Went down to the local auto parts store and bought oil and filter for the Ford F150 along with a couple other odds and ends. Managed to get the oil and filter changed, and then brought the 5 gallon can of waste oil down to my friends garage since he has a waste oil burner.

Not sure what’s on tap for today yet !

Good morning! 40 here this morning with a high about 60 today.
Not ready for the cold yet. Supposed to hit the freezing mark tomorrow morning.
Uneventful day as I gave the tractor and my body a break. Ran some errands and took the dog to a park. Seems kinda dumb because I live on 22 acres of wooded land. He likes it though.
Nearing the end of the rock and stone gathering I think. I have at least 40 tons waiting and ready to go.
Just waiting on a steel tank. If anyone knows of 8 to 10k tank available in WNC please let me know.
Still dealing with FEMA but not holding my breath.
Probably get back on the tractor and clean up my hauling and recoup what I can from where the bridge actually washed out. That takes waders and labor.
I am getting to old for this s**t.

Good Morning.
40° under a clear sky and a forecast high in the low 50’s.
Still no rain, I’m running sprinklers on the seeded areas, keeping my fingers crossed they turn green.

Yesterday was partially consumed by the test flight, but I still got to check off a few boxes when I got home. One issue was that I had made a mirror frame for the bathroom and mounted it to get approval from the missus. Then sent it to the glass shop for a mirror. In the meantime I installed the light over it. Of course when I went to hang it up, the light was in the way. So I had to lower the wall cleats 1-7/8”, fortunately the old holes remained behind the mirror.

I cut up a batch of stainless tubing for closet rods, hopefully they will get installed in my absence today, along with towel rods robe hooks, toilet paper holder, etc. hopefully the inspector will be pleased with what he sees.

I’ve got to get going, off to Palm Beach this morning, can’t wait to get back and see how things went.

Popgadget fair skies, don't get blown around in this wind

Ron, it would be wonderful if they paved the road in front of you.
But then folks would do 60+ there...
what's bad is when someone usually in a pickup is rocketing towards you putting up a huge plume of dust, and it's coming for you. Good thing you changed your air filters.

my rv gets dirtiest on the rear, from light road dirt I can usually squirt off with a hose.
road crud is heaviest on driver's side, I think due to more truck rubber on road there.
I usually drive right on line, on far right side, often hit those whirry sounding strips,
annoying as can be because it sets up a harmonic in rv and rattles like mad.

I've gone all this way and not hit rain yet except for shower couple of days in.

all the West had a haze, never saw it crystal clear

if this rv was a boat, I'd go put another line on.
wind gusts are entertaining, though it's picking up my cover on front windshield and magnet ends are wacking onto something. Surprised my folding chair is not knocked over, must be in lee of rv.

39 outside this AM, heading to mid 50's. Frosty outside.

Managed to cut some grass around the houses yesterday. Cleaned up the barn aisle ways from my construction projects and blew some dirt and leaves around.

Maybe another road trip this AM, will see when wife wakes up. In-laws relocated to FLA on Monday. Lots and lots of issues there (with the in-laws and handling). We have yard sales planned for this weekend. And the next, too. Will see.

Good morning! Fall is back! 61˚F with the high only in the 70s, YEA! Tonight it is suppose to get in the 40s, time to put on a few screens and open up the windows for the first time since we bought this house.

I picked up 4 Texas Sage bushes to plant in the back yard, today it will be cool enough to plant them after Shoulder PT which is starting to get quite intense.

The "Adventure" farm has put me on the Fall Festival tractor driving schedule. I'll be getting plenty of seat time working 15 hours on the weekends.

Here is a Drone pic of the maze, you can see the tractor/trailer on the farms road, The tractor looks white with it's layer of dust, I need to take my EGO blower and make it orange again.

Just did a walk about and fed the birds and was surprised to find skim ice from the rain on the tarp, and frost on the ground. 37F now.

Scotty, I took my waste oil to our county trash collection center yesterday. They have a huge tank... I believe it gets sold...they allow several fluids to be poured in...transmission fluid included. Limit is 5 gallons per day.

Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 5:15AM. Foggy this morning, then partly cloudy this afternoon. High 69F. Winds WNW at 10 to 20 mph.

aMAZEing, Don. Do they have to send workers in at the end of the day to help people find their way out?

Didn't even feel the flu shot at Costco yesterday, and injection site is just a little tender this morning. Odd coming out of Costco with nothing but paperwork from the pharmacy. Next week I'll update the alligator one.

Had the sprinkler system shut down for a couple weeks last month while I was working on the electrical on the back porch, saving about fifty bux worth of water. It's been on again for the past two weeks, and after cutting the grass yesterday, the lawn is looking like a lawn again.

The POs left a pretty large patio table and chair set, but I broke one of the tiles trying to clean it. I have replacements, but they need to be trimmed to fit. I should do that this morning so I can put it up for sale over the weekend. Patio is pretty full of junk and badly needs a lawn sale.

Good morning, the low is 35 and going to a high of 50°F. Wind NNW 13 mph. 30% chance of rain. Raining now. Going down to 30 tonight.
My outside water has been shut off for the past month, so no worries there.

Today is an energy conservation day. Next dry day we will take the BH off and put the BB on.

No rain in the forecast for the next 6 days. Other than the BH/BB swap the only other thing to do is the oil and that is only a phone call, that is already paid for.

Drew, I have zero intentions of getting the Class 'A' license back. A Class 'G' will do me fine. That will allow me to drive a truck or combination truck and trailer up to 10,000 lbs gross.

Ron, sometimes the back roads are faster than the freeway. I used to run the back roads here when I lived in Oshawa and worked in Maple, ON. About 50 miles as the crow flies. Would take me about 1 hour on gravel. If I went on the 400 series highways (400 to 401) it would have taken me 2-3 hours depending on traffic jams.
Google maps says it is an 8 hour drive. Google maps is full of bovine scatterings. I never use them to get anywhere.

good morning, colder this morning low was mid thirties

Fired up the new stove and like it so far. Non catalytic so not as finicky perhaps as some.
Found a wheeled firewood carrier and ordered it, will see if that works good to save on the shoulder.

Did not accomplish much much yesterday but did check on the van oil leak by moving it to a dry spot on the pavement and did not see any drips.

Also did tighten up the 12 ft posts on the corn crib by hammering in the ends to wedge them up a little higher and pushing on the beam above. Raising beams to level seems to be my new profession

No search parties at the end of the day they close after dark. Sometimes the people get frustrated and walk out where they see the road.
