As do I it acts like a giant squeegee but it's still a pain in the butt, and then on my driveway you have to go over it repeatedly because even the 1300 pound back blade doesn't get it real clean when we get several inches of wet slop. A 14-16 degree slope (23-25%) is not a good location to get iced up.
I forgot, you get that lake effect snot. Most of mine is a lot drier.

I must confess I enjoy clearing SNOW, not the wet sloppy crap we’ve been getting the past number of years. Maybe my memory has faded more than I think but we only used to get a couple of wet heavy snows a season and the rest were “normal” storms. Or it could be because I grew up in the 60’s and my memories aren’t really um… what was I saying. LOL 🙃

Upstate NY is beautiful though, and the ice storms , while legendary, Don't take away from that.
We here in Mid Eastern PA don't usually get quite so Icy, but we don't have the big mountains either.

My wifes Mom's family is from Buffalo, we do avoid that area though :)

Guess I can officially join the tinnitus club. VA gave me a 10% disability rating. And denied my other issues. So now I will get a generous $171 / month tax free. Oh wait, my military pension is also reduced $171/ month. But at least I save taxes on $2000 a year.

say that three times fast and it will make sense
better yet, for tinnitus, YELL IT LOUDLY

had to flee a bunch of screaming children at aquarium today, hurt my ear and head so bad I literally had to quickly move out of the room.
My sister wears her mask, smart considering the crowds of kids in there, but I wasn't wearing my headphones. I was overwhelmed by the noise, tried to explain to sister whatever she was hearing, jack it up about ten times.

walked to the top of the hot humid rain forest exhibit, best part were the butterflies flittering around, lots of them, very cool and all sizes

that was a lot of walking for me so taking a rest until later when sister comes get me for a dinner out, where I have no idea

I wouldn't mind going to Chinatown or Japantown?
my sister's driving scares the heck out of me but she seems quite proud of her traffic awareness. Ok, but you are jerky and my neck is getting whipped around. Her husband is far worse. I think he was Fangio in another life, whipping that Volvo around those curves. But he drives well, this is just the difference between driver and passenger, to a passenger g force is always worse than what it feels like to driver, due to hands on steering wheel. And I'm sure we've all sat as a passenger and when the driver has to slam on their brakes we do the same to the non existent pedal in front.

probably I just make a lousy passenger...

Actually would be an awesome road for a nice sports car, dozens of hairpin curves in a row. No wonder my sister needs tires, and happily her husband has chosen wisely to have me join him Friday morning at the tire shop to get new shoes for Mom. Very wisely.
I already have a list of choices for him, Pirelli all season at the top. Then Bridgestone like he has now.

Good Afternoon,
Frits prayers to your wife, hoping for a quick recovery for her !🙏

Dennis nice looking fire pit !

Snow season can be crazy up in Vermont, probably not all that much different than Lou Ny’ s weather ! Although I have quite a bit of elevation over Lou ! I agree, the last few years we have had a lot of that wet heavy stuff . I’ve only there about 23 years and I can see the changes from when we first bought the place ! It used to be colder with more dry snow. Like Lou stated trying to move wet snow on an unfrozen DW is not much fun !

Got the pool pretty well closed up, still need to cover the filter and heater area with a tarp. Also need to repair a few spots of plaster on the steps and in the hot tub ! Pretty stiff right now, hopefully a couple of Advil will fix that ! 🙏

Hope all have a good evening! 🙏

Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 1.5C and it's presently 15.0C, fairly clear with, again, gusty wind. There was 2.8mm in the gauge @ 0900.

Successful run 'into town' yesterday... although I forgot to add English muffins to the list. Oh well, looks like cinnamon toast instead. :)

What with the wind I'll need to wait before I tackle the downed tree. It did calm down & cleared last night so I was able to get the full magnificence of the 'Super Harvest Moon'. Apparently I missed out on the Southern Lights.

Sort of an 'organisational' day today.

That's about it, take care all.
