Good morning!!!!

/ Good morning!!!! #195,121
70 outside this AM, heading to upper 80's with rain expected later.

Been on travel with real job work the past month or so. Helping boss go after new business. Got some interesting things going on for him. Company doing extraordinarily well.

On the home front, a little behind in keeping up with stuff.

Refrigerator died a few days ago, got 20 years out of it, tried to find a matching colour, size and style.....LOL. Most everything is stainless. Found one, but delivery is expected...next month.

Milk House moving along. Tile work all done in bathroom. My first real attempt at tile, I think I will pass from now on.

Unfortunate, plumber died. Young guy, nice person, good business skills. Wife and sons trying to keep it together and going. May he RIP. Needless to say, set/setting us back a while.
Just need fixture hookups, water heater install and a few pipe relocated and we should be done.

Grass...is grass. Cut it when I can. Wife has been doing pastures so they are good. The ZTR is just too rough on her back so a little behind on that.

Daughter, middle, buying house! Helped her with that, good feeling. She also gets first choice on my Dads stuff. Settlement next week, now wife and I can downsize. LOL.

Still cleaning out Dads place. Almost done. No word from Arlington on schedule for service. They did warn they were 12 to 18 months out. Respect.

Estate stuff just clicking along, each click lines the lawyers pockets. Looks like the gold digger will get away with the fraud. No word from States Attorney on pressing criminal charges. Pretty cut and dry too in my opinion.

FILs, ugh.....no comment. Wife is dealing with that. Have to tread lightly there as in-laws are still living and just not making smart decisions.

Been a hard time, mentally drained. Emotions go from low to high these days. Too much going on. Such is life, comes at you hard and fast.

Hope all are well, have a good day and weekend.

good to hear from you Riptides.
I hope you have a big party when milkhouse is done
a real labor of love

Frits, that didn't sound like fun for your daughter. Worry that folks will just run into you not paying attention.

brings back a fun memory, well not so fun that day. In the early 70's I was working in Alexandria VA and the boss's son
had to sell his Porsche to go to college. White 1964 SC bathtub Porsche, equipped with cables that went from the pedals back to the engine
and trans. One of those cables snapped on me in the middle of the DC Beltway, leaving me with no clutch and no go, stranded in left lane in heavy traffic,
jammed up against concrete median. With me sitting up on median trying not to get run over.
After repairs that car, which I bought for 3500 and sold for 4500 was on its way to a new happy owner and I bought a new car
with an automatic. It's a six figure Porsche today, I saw a couple at the car show and it brought back memories.
Really a big VW back then with those terrible swing axles that would let loose on you.

I hope some folks promptly stopped to help her.

Good Morning!!!! 67F @ 6:15AM. Sunny. High 89F. Winds S at 15 to 25 mph.
No Red Flag Warning, yet, but wouldn't be surprised if new fires sprang up anyway. They did reopen the place where the Park Fire started, and containment of that fire has reached 50%. Still fighting it on the north end in the steep canyons of Mill Creek.

Read where someone rolled an old Kubota tractor near here yesterday and didn't live to tell the tale. No ROPS on that tractor. Could'a saved his life...

Saw the new ads this morning, too. Pointed them out to AdBlockPlus, and they're gone now.

Got all three posts on one side of the gate set in concrete yesterday. Didn't have any string, but had plenty of trimmer line, so used that. Almost too stiff to get a knot in it, and wouldn't do it that way if I had a choice, but made do anyway. I'll give the concrete a few days to set then get the pipe rails in place. In the mean time I'll start work on the wooden rails for the other side.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

Pretty productive day.
Thanks for all the build pictures. Really enjoy them. Also the pix of the glass cockpit in the Citation.

We are at our CA ranch now. From the safety of the patio, Rigby practiced his "protective bark" looking at a large buck with a doe yesterday evening. Then repeated it this morning as 5 turkeys were nearby.

I am always amazed how well developed the senses of dogs or wild animals are. I let Rigby out "first thing" this morning just as it was getting light. He will usually run out onto the lawn, but at first light he was very wary, stayed on the porch, head scanning to and fro, nose up and sniffing. I know he is smelling and detecting all the creatures that were around overnight. I can't tell or detect anything other than it is nice and cool out. But interesting to see that he can.

Everyone have a great day !!!

Morning all, 75 going to 82 and surrounded by light rain.
Have people coming over for a pool party, hopefully sun will come out for a bit.
Pool heater is on for the first time on months.

My Uncle has a Packard convertible in storage, never been in that one, but I was in many of the Bentleys and Rolls he had in the UK. He thinks he still has a Bentley lying around in London somewhere, we think he sold it years ago, mysteries of forgetfulness.

Well, back to food and area prep. Might run a bit late to allow for the rain to leave.

Be well,

Beautiful farm country in this area ! Love that !
Have a good day !🙏

Good morning! Low of 58°, going up to 92°, sunny.
Rinse and repeat for the next 7 days.....

Last evening, we were watching PBS and suddenly heard this weird deep metal sounding BUUNNGG!
..... got up and looked out the windows, doors, no movement, nothing apparently out of place.....but, it was dark....
This morning, found this:
IMG_1406.jpegIMG_1407.jpeg
Very strange. All the screws except for one are still in the metal tabs. And for it to fall leaning up against the legs.... this was the rehabbed bench a couple years ago... I guess the screws I used were too short.....
Will attempt repair today. Needs more stain anyway....

RIP, good to hear from you! Sad to read about the plumber. Updated pics of milkhouse?

RNG, try to stay cool. Hopefully everything lines up. Never tried to use trimmer string in such a manner.... hey... it works....

Drew, those Rpods are nice. Prices have sure gone up. The tankless heaters are a nice feature. Probably will upgrade ours eventually. The son has one in his. Sure beats a 6 gal HW......

Paul, nice progress on the addition. Coming together very well.

Trimmer heads won't get here until Monday. The seller took their good 'ol time shipping them out (2 day delay), otherwise would have them.

Daughter is supposed to be coming down today to swap her Jeep for the GS pickup. Not sure if they will make it.
Seemed to maintain temp yesterday, went slowly up to operating temp at idle, maintained temp while driving a few miles. Then, back at idle, no issue. As soon as it was turned off ---- overflow tank boiling and overflowed!
I am thinking blown head gasket.... your collective thoughts?

Need to troubleshoot / fix the back gate today. It stopped latching and will only swing closed 90% of the way on it's own (spring closure). Maybe spring is tired....

Time is a wastin' .... better get my motivation in line....

Everyone have a great day!

Good morning! 86˚F heading to 100˚ we will hit the 100-102 mark the next 5 days no rain in sight. Have not had rain in 3 weeks. The garage temp now stays in the mid 90s even in the early morning. Still hanging pictures. On one wood carving we mounted a mirror behind it, turned out nice. Also moving some grab bars from left side to right in anticipation of need after surgery. Got my pre surgery shoulder CT scan yesterday- took all of 5 minutes.

70°F and .85 inches rain. Saturday already.

Have to stop at neighbor’s this morning, she picked me up some local seeds from her Master Gardener group for my hydroponics.

Sun is tweaking thru giving me hope it dries enough to get some mowing done. Will be ugly through. A mower with bagger needed.

Dinner with friends later. Sophie made a lasagna. Had my mouth watering. They will be returning home to LA next week. Loose plans to return beginning of the year. They become 1st time grandparents in October, so immediate future is quite unknown other than it will change drastically. They are excited.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

81F and partly cloudy @ 12:30, heading up to around 84F for the day's high. DP 68F, HU 65%, "feels like" temp = 87F.

Woman says it's hot out.

Good chance of thunderstorms developing this afternoon (90%) ... we can use it ... (y)

Scattered more cracked corn and peanuts for the ground feeders yesterday.

Then went over and checked live trap in barn and dropped off a couple of sanders.

Had a customer so loaded up live trap and took it to the back for swimming lesson.

After that I was going to mow and just happened to look the hydraulic fluid reservoir on the Cub ... appeared to be empty ... 🤬

So I ran down to the mower shop in Massilion and picked up a quart of Amsoil 20w50 full synthetic with zinc ($$$) which is what they apparently use for fluid changes on those HydroGear transmissions.

Really didn't take much to top it off and bring it up to the "Cold" mark. Guessing they may not run it much to work the air out of the lines when they did the fluid and filter change.

Will keep an eye on it though to make sure we don't have a leak.

After that little irritation was handled, I took the coon up to the field and deposited him for the buzzards, dropped off the live at the shop for repairs, and ran down to the trashcan at the road and got rid of 6 empty mulch bags.

Then started mowing the front and got that all done.

Cleaned up the last of the gyro meat and the spinach/cheese pie from the Greek place for dinner.

Since pallet forks were on the Kubota I took it around to the west side and fished out the 16' long (?) PT boards which the Woman wants to use to shore up the flower bed.

Dumped those over by the frog pond to knocked the leaves off them. Still need to check them for nails that may need pulled.

After that I went back to screening more compost. Quit around dark.

Probably a couple more days of pecking away on that and I'll have it all screened.

Need to dole out another week's worth of meds.

Probably work on getting more compost screened before the rain gets here.

Otherwise see what else comes up.

Woman headed out for Goodwill with the neighbor lady, says buzzards are at work up in the field.

Hope everyone is having a decent Saturday ... (y)

BEFORE you start it up check the oil, if it is milky then for sure a head gasket
After you warm it up and the thermostat opens take the rad cap off and see if there is any bubbling in the rad. If none of the above then it is most likely a stuck thermostat. They have been known to only open a little bit when they go bad.

Don, make sure you keep that heat down there please. Don't need any more that what we have.

Scott, absolutely adorable!
And .... the puppy pics keep coming! Yea!

One project done: bench all stained and repaired.IMG_1408.jpeg

On to the next.......

That's what is somewhat confusing.... the oil is definitely not milky -- first thing I had the GS check.
No way to take off the radiator cap when up to temp. When it was cold the second time, it took about a half gallon to top off.

Another friend of hers stopped by and swapped out the t-stat last night. I don't think he took it up to temp afterwards though..... we will soon see.....

I put myself on standby.... tow strap already in the truck....

Another odd thing with the Jeep....
My GS was facetiming me yesterday after the test drive, he was showing me the overflow bottle boiling over. Then he and I both heard a loud 'HISS' from the driver's side of the engine (where exhaust manifold is). Only lasted a few seconds, he checked all around the area, no fluid or obvious leaking.... never heard anything like it before. I thought it was very odd....

Radiator Cap not venting?
