Popg, did you install the built in vacuum system?
I
I did not. It’s not too late though, I could mount it upstairs, and come down into an interior 2x6 wall. I think that I could get by with only 2 inlets.
We have one in the house, and the it for granted. Even have an inlet in the garage.

Good Morning!!!! Afternoon, actually. 70F @ 5:00PM. A mix of clouds and sun. High 71F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph.

Looking at the heat pump installation, Paul, would there have been any difference in hanging it from the rafters to help isolate it from the ceiling joists noise wise? Otherwise, very impressive progress, especially since you're recently recovered from CV19.

Well, the camping trip went off the rails only a few miles from the start. We started from a friend's house, in fog, but came out above it at the first crossing of the Coast Range. Temperatures rose a lot, but nothing crazy. We had to cross US101 with no light or on/off ramps, a little stressful, but traffic was light. A few minutes later my buddy pulls of the road and just sits there, fumbling with their jacket. By the time I had my helmet and gloves off they were struggling to get out of their jacket, gloves, and helmet, too. Turns out they were badly over heating, and felt faint and were seeing black dots. Not good. I eventually got them sitting in the shade, moved the bikes down there, and got a text off to their daughter for a rescue pickup. A local rancher stopped and offered to help shuttle the motorcycle to their place for safe keeping. I think he really wanted to ride that little BMW. He borrowed my helmet, and I drove his Prius. Took us about 20 minutes over badly patched roads. I came back later with the van and drop gate trailer to recover the bike, being really glad I'd ferried the trailer down last month. Hung a bottle of good Bourbon on his gate as thanks, got a thank you back that evening.

Never figured out what ailed my friend, but I stuck around for the night and most of Sunday to keep an eye on 'em. We did some shopping Sunday, and things appeared back to normal. Reminded me a lot of the time I almost blacked out on a Los Angeles freeway while splitting traffic. I think it was low blood sugar in my case; a candy bar and an energy drink fixed me up in a half hour or so. Gittin' old ain't for the faint of heart.

Today started with good intentions, and ended up trying to firm up new insurance for the new house. State Farm doubled the premium and halved the coverage limits. Clearly they don't want my business. Some outfit called Bamboo, and a few others, had terrible claims experience ratings. Amica was priced about what I've been paying, but since I won't give them both vans, the car, the F250, and a dozen motorcycles, they won't bundle car and homeowner's insurance. They also wanted a receipt for the roof replacement that was part of the solar panel installation on this new-to-me house, but since the previous owners did the work I don't have a receipt. I got in touch with a local independent agent that found what looks like good coverage at a competitive rate, and they're working up auto insurance quotes. Won't be a bundle, but should save me something.

Once things quiet down tomorrow morning I'll get the trailer parked and unhitched. Not sure what else I'll get done; maybe start looking for doctors and dentists in my new neighborhood.

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend, and those in harm's way find safety.

The scorpion found the over flowing pool spa the best place to cool off.
Can't figure how he crossed the moat, maybe he dove from the oak tree.
How do you know it is a 'he'?

Good Afternoon Don,

Curious how you deal with scorpions ?
I’m thinking blunt force trauma ! 😉😂
Miami Herald comes to mind. That is how my Grandmother dealt with one in the '50s in Miami, Fla., in the living room on a Sunday morning. Paper went on the scorpion and then she stepped on it.

Junior pedaled his butt to town today, by the time he got the stuff he went for it was raining pretty hard. He took my Max ticket in and I won $20.oo plus a free play. I figured I only had the freebee. So I am up $5.oo plus a free ticket (another $5.oo) and he chipped in the extra buck for the encore, which is $1 million prize by itself. A million bux is all I need to pay off all my bills and retire.
Property tax bill for the last 6 months of 2024 came today and I paid it. $650.77 total for all of 2024 is $1249.36 . 1456 sq. ft. house on 5 acres with my own wells and septic. I looked into solar when I first bought this place and it was too expensive for me, so we are still on the electric grid with an 8,000 watt genny for backup.

Good (Tuesday) morning. Overnight Low of 6.4C and it's presently 11.7C, overcast & it's going to be a blustery day. The wind chill is knocking at least 5C off.

I've already been into town for 'fasting blood' + urine sample. I pounded back the water prior to going in (0830 opening) so that Sister could get enough blood and it worked. In & out by 0850.

Seeing as I was 'in town', I stopped by the PO in case the First Aid kits had arrived and they had! I just had to wait 'til 0900 for the office to actually open to collect.

So I've had breakfast & a mug of coffee = feeling human again. Nothing much else happening.

That's about it, take care all.

I thought about it, actually have the hangers and unistrut, but the ECM blower in this air handler runs so smooth and quiet, that it was really unnecessary.

Coffee is cooling in cup. 66° with light rain this morning. Heading to 70° with some thunderstorms. Yesterday was a conserve energy day. After PT today will be very much the same.

Morning all!
70 and raining with a high of 72. Nice!
Spent the day at the apartment house putting things back and replacing window shades and a ceiling fan. When it came time to replace the old rusted bathroom light I found this! No box, no anchor for the wire, no support behind!
IMG_8990.jpg

Another 5 minute project turned into many hours work. Lol. As we say to each other. "welcome to the apartment"
Heading to my sisters today to work on her mower and fix a few things while there. She has outside projects needing done when weather permits. I'm surprised her little Kioti hasn't sold yet! There were 5 other people trying to buy it when she got it at the dealer.
Off to Tuesday breakfast with the neighbor first.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!
