Bill, does your E trike have any suspension?
that is only issue with mine, pretty stiff
sure beats walking...

I wanted one for my rv but they have a big footprint to manage
the bigger seat helps. Mine had promo where all those extras were thrown in free so
don't hesitate to ask

The only suspension in this one is the air in the tires. I have already asked about perks. The only other ones I have looked at and am interested in wont arrive until October.
I think amazon is advertising 'foldable' e-trikes. I didn't look at them because of the roads I would have to travel on and I think their weak areas are where they fold.

Good Morning,
Ct, 67 to start going to 90 or so ! A bit less humidity, with more rain coming in later this week ! I just mowed the grass this past Friday but looking ahead for the week it looks like a lot more rain, so I’m thinking I will mow again today or tomorrow!

Scott, too bad the weather didn't cooperate with the concert. At least you were inside. Reschedule again?
Ted, no chance of a rescheduled concert because most of the bands are booked for the entire summer ! We have 2 concerts left and they are both good bands, so if the weather cooperates we can make some money there !

I do feel that this thread should remain under Rural Living, a perfect example is Frits discussing his repair on his mower or David’s issues with his tractor and mower ! A lot of the stuff that we do is because we can do it ourselves and also sharing with others ! JMO !

In any event I’m happy to be a member of this community!

Hope all have a blessed start to there week! 🙏

This brochure lists the drive chain as #80 high tensile, maybe gets you a little closer, good luck.

That should be all you need to know, verified by measuring the old chain for width and pitch. A power transmission or bearing and drive supplier should have it in stock along with master and half links if they are required. Almost certainly cheaper than an OEM replacement, and likely better.

GM is a place for
nice people to get along. Perhaps a kind of tractor Cheers bar.
Exactly.
But that is how it evolved.
There was a time when Friendly Politics was a kind of Tractor Cheers bar, but it descended into a cesspool of politics, and started bleeding over to the rest of TBN. Thankfully it was eliminated.
I'm a relative newcomer here compared to many, yet I've seen several thread topics banned and discussion shut down because opponents denied them and probably still do.
Couldn't talk about climate change for a while.
Couldn't talk about Covid 19 for a while.
For a while Front Porch was a "relatively" loose forum.

Now, when I asked :
Is there a list of where it is permissible to inject politics into a thread?
Because it seems some posters put politics into almost every thread.
the response from Muhammad:
It's allowed in one thread and one thread only: https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/threads/you-might-love-this-idea-you-might-hate-it.476927/

All other instances will get deleted.
Which to me is great if enforced in a fair manner.

But, as of last check, the thread listed had not been mentioned in Forum Guidelines until I asked.

Until the recent forum brouhaha over "likes," I had no idea my post about Big Boy Locomotive generated 20 likes. Or such things are even ranked or scored like that. I went looking-- did find that part of the forum-- thank you to all.

It was a nice reminder of how lucky I was to see an icon of American engineering and determination. I'd drive a very long ways to see it again. And probably will!

Heading to CA today where it will be 90 degrees. Not bad. Will stay a week, as friends have children belong to FFA who raise animals and compete at a local County fair. Should be interesting, as always.

Everyone have a great day !!!

Good Morning
72° and sunny, high of 90 and no rain for today. We did get over an inch of rain in the last three days, enough to change the landscape back to a green tint from the brown it had become.

Been very hot and humid for working in the old folks home, still plugging away.

There is a million small tasks that need to be done before the foam gets sprayed this week. I’m running HDMI cables and speaker cables, remote temperature sensor cables for thermostats, dryer vent, fabricated the door for the attic access, ran a wire for a land line phone, doorbell camera, the list is long.

Here are some pictures of the heat pump install and ductwork. Went to a lot of trouble to avoid duct board and flex. Used mastic instead of tape to seal joints.

It would be tough to find a contractor to do things the way I wanted them done. I suspect that Frits has the same problem.

I’ll see what I can get done before it gets too hot, then we need to make a Costco run.

Hi all, 75 going to 94 and sunny-
Got back into town last night.

Bad weather and the pilot told us we were going to Dulles instead of Newark if a window did not open for landing in 15 minutes.
Got our opening, and landed at Newark! first time in a while I was happy to go to North Jersey :)

Lots to catch up on, you've all been amazingly busy.
Will detail trip over the coming days.

I did pass by many of the TBN California peoples towns on the trip, too bad we had no time to veer from the schedule of college tours, sight seeing, visiting relatives.
And of course many, many hours of driving.

Be well,

Welcome back Ken
enjoy today's weather
going downhill later this week

good meeting with landscapers, they are going to build the new garden shed foundation
on top of the old one, the one that never was...
Shed company quoted 1500 for landscaping, these guys will do it for 1000.
And appreciate the work a lot more.

nice blue sky day but heating up

this storm is supposed to stall off the Carolinas and flood the East Coast
ten to twenty inches of rain far inland, and up to 30 inches in some coastal spots.
here we go again

I live on top of a hill. Times like this that's a nice feeling.
though I believe Lake Drew will be back in fine form by the end of this week.
Frits will find out if his neighbor's improvements have accomplished anything

84F and Sunny @ 11:30, heading up to around 88F for the day's high. DP 70F, HU 62F, "feels like" temp currently 88F ...

Woman headed outside a little bit ago and came right back in complaining it was hot. Then headed right back out ...

Got front lawn all mowed yesterday, then mowed the compost/woodlot. Surprisingly, it was all dry enough to mow ... even with all the rain we've recently had.

Refueled right tank on the Cub.

After that I went and got the Kubota, repositioned the soil screen, and went back to screening more compost for several hours. Had to start a new pile in a new spot for screened material in order to leave room for maneuvering.

Came inside, had dinner, and cooled off for a bit after that.

Went back out after a while and started mowing the lawn on the east side. Got that mostly done, knocked off when it was almost dark.

Then headed up to the shop.

Located a piece of steel sheet that had a suitable thickness for that softener bracket that was NLA (original = 0.091", new = 0.100)

Cleaned up the hard water deposits on the original bracket with the needle scaler and then used the old bracket to mark out the shape on the new piece and started cutting it out with the jigsaw. Got that about 1/2 done before I gave up and called it day (arms were tired and getting shaky ... :rolleyes

Headed back down to the house and ran the garage door down to close things.

Ooops ! ... Mrs. Redbird in garage, so had to open it back up and shut off the light for a while.

At some point, somewhere I got into a bunch of dust and debris while mowing and the wind caught it just right pushing it up around my head and into my face. Got some of that crud into my right eye ... which ended up getting progressively more irritated throughout the day.

Ended up flushing it out with The Woman's ReStasis and taking a couple of Benadryl. This morning there was a bunch of crud that had worked its way out of the eye. At any rate, seems to be no further irritation ... so it's all good ... (y)

Not sure what all on agenda for today.

Getting bird feeders refilled is high on the list though.

Hope everyone is having a decent Monday ... (y)

Almost 14" of rain in a week, is a lot of rain especially for a low lying area.
Wow, our ANNUAL rainfall is only about 10".... but we haven't gotten that much in a year for the last 10 years. Only 7.5" last year!

Good morning! Low of 58°, heading up to 91°, 30% chance of a t-storm. No storms yesterday, tried to form, but just no oomph.....

Up to 88° at 11:00, so no outside stuff getting done. Nothing that pressing....

Started with the "deep clean" this morning.....
jumped right in and forgot to post...

Almost done with one room, just a couple things to clean/polish left. Just couldn't stand any longer, needed to give the knee a break. Almost.... almost.

I am glad that GM is staying under Rural Living.
I sent a reply to Mohammad with one reason it should stay here.... the Front Porch forum has to be requested to join, after so many post counts, otherwise new members would never even see it! A lot of older members don't even know about GM!

Gonna be a lot of flooding up the E coast. Crazy amounts of rain! Hope everyone heeds the warnings. I'm sure somebody will attempt to drive somewhere they shouldn't......

David, all positive thoughts and prayers heading to Sophie for her surgery!

Paul, unit looks good! Duck work looks great.

Welcome home Ken. Hopefully a productive trip!

Drew, saving $500 on the landscaping is great! Pays to shop around.

Time to go finish up with the cleaning.....
