good morning all

I think we have all had some bad feather days...;)

cloudy and cooler today, more showers this afternoon.

Frits, good job on the pulley, glad you got the old one out.

no plans for today other than chilling out

Dennis, hope the sermon goes well this morning.

you guys with big compressors at work,
what would have caused this explosion big enough
to hurt 20 people?
air tank is a pressure vessel so I guess anything can go boom.
looks like a shrapnel event

will be interesting when truth comes out, just what they were doing when this blew up

if the upper limit switch fails and the pump keeps pumping, don't most tanks have a pressure relief?
looks like quite a lot of damage when it "relieved" itself here

stock market sure tanked yesterday
Intel dropped 26 percent of its share value
Amazon went down almost 9 percent

conjecture is market already priced in a Fed rate drop and when it didn't come
the market reacted. I bet we see a rate drop pretty soon. And hopefully a market bounce back up today.

I want to buy a new truck end of this year and I sure don't want to pay 7 percent interest.
even if I put half down, still results in huge amount of interest paid, cost per mile jumps.
That plus 75k pickups common and sensible folks say, do I really want a thousand dollar car payment?

maybe when I was earning six figures, I would have considered that. Remember no kids so no college funds to fill.
But I never did. Even if you can afford it, at some point you just say that is too much.
To me spending more than 60 grand was like buying fancy jewelry, was sort of adornment.

of course if it was a third car, or the fun car, common sense and value of money discussions sort of
go out the window. Scootr really doesn't care what gas mileage his Cobra gets...
Truly a car rated in smiles per mile. Like Scott's Ford. Always an adventure.

Good morning,
72° now highs in the mid 80’s cloudy, scattered showers and boomers today. West wind around 5 mph, dew points in low 70’s.

Yesterday took the trimmer for very short walk, down one side of the driveway and up the other, that was enough. Trip to the dump was interesting, backed up to recycle containers and unloaded, pulled up to the trash compactor and looked for the 3 bags of trash I could have sworn were in the truck. Said to myself am I really getting this bad? Yup still sitting in the trash can, not telling the Mrs I did that lol.

Plans for today, put trash bags IN truck and go to dump. Water garden, pick tomatoes and cukes. Stay in ac and ponder my cognitive functions or lack of!🙄

Enjoy your day everyone
Stay safe and healthy

I’m in that club ! And then there is also the lost tool syndrome!!😉

Good morning! 75˚F heading to the upper 90s, a few clouds, E wind. Rains missed us yesterday and looking to the 10 day forecast looks dismal with 0% chance of rain and temps in the high 90s to 102˚, oh well this is August in central Texas.

I transplanted the 3rd Date tree and the soil had to be inched out with a pry bar. Next I need to find a place for my 2 Fig trees that I brought from the old house, but that will be tomorrow because the cool morning will be given to Church today.

I will have to start back up on my Duolingo German, just got word that my 5th cousins from Germany will be coming to visit in May. If you remember this is the couple that we threw a wedding for on the farm where we found a Lee County Justice of the Peace that spoke German and the outdoor wedding ended the drought when s downpour started in the middle of the wedding and no one minded using the colorful sun parasols as rain umbrellas.

good morning, 73 going to 86 today and more rain yesterday. Looks to be a nice day

Will do clean up of the mower parts to get ready to put it back together

Yesterday almost got hurt when the spindle hub came off with a big bang. Fortunately only the glasses got scraped.

8' high chain link with another 2' buried so he can't dig underneath. ;)

Put a boot on the inside and plug it anyway.
I was going to post the same link to plug/patches that Lou posted. I've used them for near edge punctures for years. I also use plugs for convenience and keep them on hand. If you buy the really sticky type, I've not even had to use the glue/goop to seal ATV and Tractor tires that are lower pressures.

Stopped and picked up my 2 monthly Meds at the local pharmacy, that only charges me $1.75. I was getting the same at CVS for over $30 for 3 months worth. so I get yet another email from United telling me I should change to CVS because I could save money......... This is fraud attempt, they know what i'm paying.
I know a pharmacist who owns his own small town pharmacy. He says that United insurance are total crooks, not paying or not paying the agreed amounts. I try to avoid United, and will do so when I have to pick my medicare plan this year. I hope I have options.

I get great service at our Walmart's pharmacy. They are open 7 days a week.

Frits, sorry about your mower deck woes.

Lou, sorry about your truck troubles. Is the new battery helping? Normally glass mat batteries last 5 years or more.

Went to Canyon Lake for the last couple of days. Lake is way low, like 20-25 feet. Only 1 boat ramp is open. They need rain upstream. They got a bit over a week ago, but it only raised it about 1-2 feet. They let a trickle of water out for the river tubers downstream.

PopG, glad you're better. Enjoy watching the progress. The manifold heater closet looks complicated. Some people like to run a 1/4 drip line in their exterior walls, to apply insecticide inside the walls. Leave a stub out to attach a pump up sprayer. On my previous brick house which had breather weep holes along the bottom edge of the bricks, I put used scotchbrite pads in the cracks.

Hope Sophie's procedure goes well.

We are back to brutally hot/humid days. Fields are still green from rains, but will turn brown in August if we don't get enough.

A buddy is cutting many acres of hay right now, hopefully to be picked up in a few days.

Got given a small Craftsman push mower that needs a carb cleaning (hopefully). Will be useful for edge mowing around the house.

Prayers for our team, our country, ****** and Ukraine.

Yep, I keep both on hand for quick tire repairs and to be able to longer term ones when needed. Also I have had plugs not stay in higher pressure tires such as trailer tires at 60-70 PSI.
I also keep a couple of large tire boots on hand for larger repairs on off road tires.
Lou, sorry about your truck troubles. Is the new battery helping? Normally glass mat batteries last 5 years or more.
This was likely the original battery in this pickup so a 2019 to now is around 5 years. It seems to me that these new vehicles don't give the warnings of a battery getting weak like we used to.

Good luck! Low of 57°, going up to 90°. The cooler temps never happened. Neither did the rain that was predicted..... only an 1/8" yesterday. I guess that's better than nothing. No chances today, back to 20-30% chances of T-storms the rest of the week.

So, today's agenda will include running the drip irrigation. Fields are green now, almost ready to cut again, but unless we get more rain, I'll just let them "hang on" to what moisture they have.

When we went up to Colorado last week, they were haying everywhere from about a half hour north of here, all the way over the Colorado border. Apparently, there was a lot of rain that never reached here.

Another conserve energy day. Need to save the energy for our "deep clean" this week. Take one room at a time, clean top to bottom including waxing the hardwood. No more than one room at a time. This way, we don't wear ourselves out.

BIL home safe. He goes for chemo and radiation Monday and Tuesday, back to school teaching on Wednesday. Got to be tough to adhere to that schedule.

Fritz, glad you didn't get hurt. Could have been a lot worse!

Scott, too bad the weather didn't cooperate with the concert. At least you were inside. Reschedule again?

Kyle, the reservoirs up here are super low too! When we drove past 2 up north, they were about 50% of normal. Even the good snowpack last year couldn't get them filled. They had to move the floating docks out further.

Everyone enjoy their day!

frustrated by Eufy account setup. Keep stopping at that email address is invalid
I certainly don't think so. I wonder if it wants my icloud address which I never use.

had to take advantage of cooler temp so I washed half the rv. That got me needed exercise.
Checked oil in gen, decided I had overfilled it and sucked a small amount out.
1.6 quarts oil capacity, pretty sketchy for a 3600 rpm splash engine with no oil filter.
I rarely use it but sure will want it when I need it, like most gens.

I still wonder how the prior owner used this rv, how he put 168 hours on the gen.
I've put on three. I really think he went down the road with it running, which considering rv
fridge also runs on propane, is a head scratcher. Prior owners were older than me, so unlikely they
did much boondocking. All I care is that they took very good care of this thing, and they did.

doing laundry and plan on having a quiet afternoon.

69°F and .66 inches of misty rain.

Nice lunch with BiL yesterday. New restaurant for us about an hour away in Puna.

Made a stop at HD for some items for my project. Came home with a small ish bag and $200 receipt.

This weather is gonna hurt my grass mowing. Just enough moisture and sun I can see it getting thicker and taller while being too wet to mow. Oh well.

Forecast for today, more of the same.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day.

The little bit of rain we have been getting has made the grass greener and growing again, so will probably mow this week.
Got .1" rain yesterday, friends of ours that live a little south of us said they got about 3" since friday. The big storm last night went south, down their way.
storms are starting to pop up in areas.

Sermon went well.
Good lunch, I got a couple slices of pizza and ate my son's salad that came with his meal.
Gas prices have gone down some.
