Good evening all. 76ºF for the start, partly cloudy sky, moderate breeze. Light wind, moderate gusts, mostly clear sky, and high temp was 102ºF, HI 104ºF. Made coffee to start day, bike ride, cool off/lunch, mow front yard, nap, shower then dinner.
Ron Good to hear water line fixed, and grass mowed. Hope good check up today.
Drew hope house cleaning went well. Glad RV fridge worked well. Sorry about phone tag.
Billy Glad you got hike in with Della. Glad you ate good.
Thomas sorry about return of 3 "H" .

Good morning, the low temp is 68 and going to a high of 86°F. Wind calm. 30% chance of showers later. Heat warning still in effect.

My ride for todays shopping trip wont be here until noon. I don't care, I am not driving. The cats wont be happy, they go out at about 6 A.M. and come back in about 1 P.M. and head to the basement where it is nice and cool.

I bought a ticket on tonights' Lotto Max draw. The grand prize is up to 95 million dollars + 25 1million dollar separate draws + encore which is worth another million. So I got 6 lines they are 3 for $5.oo + $1.oo per encore line. So I got the encore at $5.oo so a total of $15.oo. I find it odd that when the mob was running the numbers games they were illegal, now that the goobermint is running them, they are legal.

Other than the month end shopping trip I am doing nothing until I get home. Then I will probably do nothing anyway.

Poured first cup of coffee. 67° with rain this morning. Heading to 80° with thunderstorms. Woke up to a very noisy thunderstorm. .98" of rain form current storm. Nurse says I am doing good. BP was a little high. But that is because she was wearing a white coat. Grocery shopping went well. But a little more crowded than when I go at 8am. Took neighbor to PT for her broken leg in afternoon. Got to visit my neighbor who is fighting Stage 5 Liver Cancer. Very upbeat person while fighting this battle. Helped other neighbor replace outdrive water pump impeller. Didn't take long for me to fall asleep when I got home.
PT this morning then no plans for rest of the day.

73 climbing to 97. Yesterday's high forecast was 96, but it hit 100.1.

The grass is so dry and shriveled up that I'm finding lost screws, etc in the dirt where hidden before.

Buppies, I don't envy you out there in that heat laying asphalt.

Roasted coffee yesterday morning and did inside chores rest of day, except a couple of half mile walks for Della. Plan to take her for a hike to the river for a swim this morning.

While waiting for neighbor to get out of PT. I decided to walk the small dam/waterfalls. Went up and down the stairs 3 times. It was nice and cool next to fall. But noisy. Took Drew by this park last year during his visit. Henry Ford had this Dam built to operate a Hydro Generator. Used its power to run a carburetor manufacturing plant. That was to left of dam. All that’s t left of plant is a parking lot. Hydro Generator building is still there.

Watered the garden early, probably need it again later today. Other than staying cool that’s about all for today.

Morning all!
High 90's and humid today with afternoon showers in the forecast for the next 3 days!
Managed to finish up all the lawn mowing yesterday. Need to string trim next but will wait for cooler weather.
We are heading out to breakfast in a bit to celebrate my father in laws 87th birthday!
Filed some paperwork yesterday to hopefully get a rebate from the power company now that the furnace and water heater are much more efficient.
Wife was able to renew her license online so one more project off the list!
Did spend some time in the shop.
Natural edge walnut cup and a 10 x 4 apple wood bowl. Both need a second coat of oil and then a finish.

need to check oil in rv gen again. Thought it was low, added a little, now it looks like too much.
Oil dipstick tiny, almost useless, one of those deals where you stick your finger in a ways and if it hits oil, well I guess
you are ok.

might ride over to Doylestown later and water my friend's flowers while she is out of town.

it's that very hot time of year, we all need to be careful.
Keep drinking that water Buppies, maybe a cooler with some ice cold sports drinks?

Vt, 66 to start going to 86 or so with thick humidity! Another rough day to do anything too physical other than being by a pool or a lake !

We have to head back to Ct today, I have a FD concert on Saturday, so hoping the weather holds for that event.

Did manage to cut the grass yesterday along with weed whacking but I was soaked by the time I finished that !

Looks like Florida is in the path of some kind of storm, so I’m guessing that will continue to push heavy amounts of humidity up to the north east !

68F going to a smoky 98F here today. Smoke is tolerable-- for everyone's sake I hope they get that fire out. We will be in it all next week at our CA property.

Rigby had his first puppy training. He is ahead of the class since we have been working with him. But surprisingly he is afraid of other dogs. This is a surprise-- we didn't see that coming. He did encounter an aggressive dog at the vet and I think that imprinted. We will see how he does next week at week 2.

Got 3 back to back spam calls. Third one just kept talking over me.... I lost it. Yelled at her to "shut the $@#^ up!" .... that stopped her for a couple of seconds for me to tell her to "take me off your list" and hang up.

I have been inundated with scam calls all week.

Couple of quick things regarding spam calls:

1. I set my iPhone to ring only if the caller is in my Contacts list. That makes a huge difference since unknown numbers no longer ring. 98% of spammers do not leave messages.

2. If you really want to get nasty, here is a trick. Get a whistle-- a loud one like sporting events. Answer the spam call, act interested but slowly start talking more and more softly getting down to almost a whisper. On the other end, the $#@^#W^ spammer is dialing up the volume on their headset. Then blow the whistle and hang up.

Probably shouldn't write that but ... oh well. Maybe they need hazard pay!

Didn't I read that hundreds of people got stuck out in the mud at Burning Man last year because of freak storms, PH? Hopefully you weren't one of them. There are some hilarious videos out there of people pranking telemarketers. One of them by the gal that supposedly voices Alexa, where she plays a demented old woman.

Spent yesterday morning catching up on accumulated mail, and a few emails. Then moved the van over to the RV parking area so I could unload firewood into the back yard. I was going to prepare the ground with termaticide first, but saw that the existing wood pile had been built on wooden pallets, so just piled what I had right on top. Will probably treat the pallets with termaticide at some time in the future, maybe even today. Regardless, seven wheelbarrow loads later and the wood was moved and back under a tarp. Not bad, and more like exercise than torture, so I'll plan on bringing down one or two more pallets on any future trips.

With the 1st anniversary of this home purchase coming up next week I'm being inundated with offers to renew the home warranty. They're hitting all the bases: email, snail mail, and yesterday the telephone started ringing. It'll be a cold day in H3ll before I waste any more money on that warranty. The one claim I tried to submit was denied because they said it was a preexisting condition. How could that be when it passed muster with the home inspector?

A couple years ago the motorcycle club had a camp out atop Cerro Noroeste, an 8250' mountain not far from the Grape Vine on I5. It was October and we all froze our butts off the first night so badly no one stayed for another night. Well they've moved the camp out up to this weekend, and I'll give it another try. Should be in the low 50s overnight this time of year, perfect sleeping bag weather. Google says it's only a couple hours away now, so I should be able to get to my destination both days before noon and the heat of the day. When the temperatures get much over 90F on a motorcycle, you really can't go fast enough to stay comfortable.

Long day out of town one two more days 1.5 hour drive one way twice a day 200 tons between 1:45 and 3:30 today. 96 outside lots of water one diet DP just now. Ate at Isabella’s for dinner great food.
