Good evening all. 78ºF for the start, partly cloudy skies, breezy. Moderate wind, brisk gusts, sky cleared off, and high temp was 95ºF, HI 105ºF. Made coffee to start day, grief share, bike ride, trip to town for lunch, gas, meds, and groceries. No nap, and ended up doing Subway for dinner. Got mail hold set up for next week. Tried to get online access to Costco card but had problems with website, and chat session disappeared twice. Did get to see Cardinals beat Rangers .

70° now highs in the low 80’s and cloudy with showers/boomers today. Winds S 5-10 mph. Dew points low/mid 70’s.

Quiet day again yesterday, spent a lot of time on YouTube, too darn hot and humid to do much outside.

Not much planned for today, pick up some dog food, finish paying bills, pick some more tomatoes. Maybe a trip to the dump if ambition allows.

Coffee is cooling. 64° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 89° with a few clouds. Yesterday was a wet day with mostly drizzle most of the day. Went to PT . It was good but tough on my foot. Did a conserve energy day. Have to finish garden pond water line repair today. No other plans after that.

Good morning, the low is 68 and going to a high of 82°F. Wind SW 3 mph. 30% chance of showers.

Almost an inch of rain was supposed to come last night, but there was none by 10 P.M., when I went to bed. I haven't looked outside today, yet.

I think the only thing I will do today is look at my raw earth and see if the rain washed the grass seed away.

good morning all
a warmer sticky morning going up to 90 today

had a third of one of those melons I brought home for dessert last night,
good, could have been a little riper but smelled "melony" strongly in the car and kitchen.
No way I can eat both melons so I think the other is going to Popgadget along with a couple tomatoes this morning.

I hope Ken is doing ok, his son is enjoying the college tour and his father gets his act together.

no rain here, keeps threatening and fizzling out. I have to water potted plants every day in this heat.
am about to take down the outdoor flower pots for the year, that stretch of almost 100 heat here for days did them in.

the first big load of tomatoes looks done. Now the vining tomatoes, already seven feet tall, start and tomatoes continue, but
never as big. I probably ought to cut my tomato plants back to six next year.
have six unattractive runty tomatoes sitting on my counter, ready to be chopped up into something.
I always give the nice stuff away. Those heritage tomatoes are 5.99 a pound at local supermarket.
I gave a 1.5 pound yellow beauty away yesterday that had red streaks going through it.
Ten bucks for a tomato. Kind of hard to wrap my head around that.

good thing to grow your own if you can.

geez, latest news is they are finding high levels of metal in dark chocolate, which was supposed to be so good for you.
I bet the Hershey board is meeting today. Wonder how that will play out.
and 7 million pounds of Boars Head coldcuts are being recalled, particularly the liverwurst.

so makes sense to take one and fly off.
No, they fling them around, like they are looking for something they aren't finding, and then flinging seed
out to their buddies.

too much seed on the ground now. Time to cut back on the feeders and let them clean up their own mess.
I need to take leaf blower and blast it all out

I also need to take my mint spray and spray underneath my barbecue grill.
neighbor's cat comes over and hides under there, then springs out at ground feeders.
found feathers yesterday,
like deer spray, apparently cats don't like peppermint, anything with strong smell

I know where that cat is coming from
maybe I should retaliate by constantly throwing catnip over the fence and
keeping the cat stoned...

Let Rigby out at 4:15am and smelled smoke. Then I remembered the wind was supposed to shift and blow the smoke from the Park fire toward us in Nevada. It did.

Can you believe some idiot purposely caused the fire? It's raging out of control. One person responsible for incredible destruction.

It's a smoky 60F here, going to a smoky 95F. Everyone have a great day!!!

Ct, 71 to start going to 82, with on and off rain ! I see that northern Vermont was hit very hard with heavy rain and flooding! Looks like it will be a drive in the rain today.

Work not too bad yesterday, got out at 2:30 in the afternoon and came home for a nice dip in the pool with a couple of the grands ! It was hot and sticky though !

74 and already a steam bath out there.

Been cleaning up after the bear "attack" last night. Bent heavy duty shepherd hooks, 3 feeders broken beyond quick repair, 3 others damaged and back into service quickly. I gotta give it to Wild Birds Unlimited feeders...expensive, but very good quality. I've got some game cards to check. Ron, good clean up crew.

Plow, sounds like Rigby's really growing up...going to school. What type of training will she receive there? I've been training with the same commands as you, but use Whoa instead of Stay...leftover from my days training quail dogs...also working on Come...Della had it perfect, then started slipping when she discovered wildlife distractions.

She still responds well using her kibble as treats, but I've added tiny pieces of carrot and apple as super treats. Today, she has what I believe is her last puppy vet visit for a while.

Great list of concerts...they bring back great memories. My first one was seeing the Animals...House of the Rising Sun was so popular. Best concert was Itzhak Perlman (love concert violin), most fun was either John Prine with Poco, or Peter Frampton several years ago, or George Strait. Have seen the Wailers maybe a dozen times, always a blast. Still want to see Del McCoury.

Built a pallet frame for firewood yesterday, and already have filled it up. Need to build another.

When I was still back in Illinois, I had to switch to sunflower "hearts". The birds would open the up the seed and the grass all around the feeder was being killed by the leftover sunflower husks. I took my wet/dry vac and vacuumed it all up from the lawn. I bet it looked weird to the neighbors. (not that I cared)
