Next Saturday will be the coolest temp all week 81.
Overnights in the 60s. Good sleeping weather.

August 1 I have a quack appointment in town, but until then I have absolutely nothing to be bothered doing. IF I get ambitious, then there is something I 'could' do, but don't hold yer breath.

My grass seed is supposed to show up today, but I need the fertilizer first. Always the way.

Some those must be from the same klan up here,lately when lawn care guy who mows fills his gas cans than go inside to pay etc. person persons pulls up beside trailer on back side takes gas cans sometimes trimmers,hope that dumb @ss get some country justice.

Vt, 58 to start going to 83 ! Another hazy morning with humidity, but we are packing up and heading south today ! Looks like the real heat will be returning this week !

Frits, thanks for that info and video ! I don’t burn wood at the Ct house so I’m really not sure how often the unit needs an extensive cleaning ! I will clean the unit the next break in the weather.

It has been a nice stretch of weather up here for our guests and of course us ! Blue skies always trump rain !

Need to do a few things before we go, sweep up my wood shop and also make a dump run ! I did manage to sneak in an oil change on my Toro Z Turn and got a bunch of weed eating done !

I can run this real time on my Ipad while I drive
I sure don't want to get out of the yellow very much

so if I was headed for Amarillo right now I'd expect to be pushed by wind on the right side, always fun when a semi is going by, as he's pushing
you the other way. Turbulence for sure.

Had a decent nights sleep last night, took Sudafed to help with congestion. Other than that, I don’t feel too bad. Nothing planned for today, of course I’m stuck here on the leper colony, but I’ll find some easy tasks to check off the list in the old folks home.

82 water is wonderful, no shock value coming in, can stay in for a while.
though on a really hot day any temp water feels good

got my tomatoes back from ken's home, yes Ken your house looks fine, and then came
home and washed my car. Got that done just before the sun hit it so should be good for a few days.\

off to Hatfield for lunch and pool. If I can't offload "Ken's" tomatoes on them, I'll head up and drop them off at Popgadget's later today.

The Park Fire has burned more that 353,000 as of seven o'clock last night. All the active burning is scattered around the edges making hundreds of miles of perimeter to fight and control. Yesterday was the worst day for smoke so far, which up until then had been absent. Airquality is in the 50s right now, mainly due to the low wind speeds and easterly and southeasterly direction.

They haven't published this morning's aircraft request yet, but the had a dozen tanker planes in the air yesterday, including two Very Large Air Tankers.

A couple of neighbors came down yesterday and picked up the rest of the Kubota shipping pallets I'd collected. The stack was about nine feet high, ten feet long, and five feet wide. Les said his forklift could get it off in one trip; my tractor took three because of the uneven ground where they were stacked.

I got 'em to look at the fire truck while they were here. Mike muscled open the hood and found a blown fuse, which helps to explain why we couldn't hear the fuel pump running. It was a real old glass fuse, so I'll swing by the FLAPS while I'm in town and get a box of replacements. And also some spray grease for the hood release and hinges. Mike said I should replace the rotor, cap, and points, but I really don't want to open that Pandora's box. But he's willing to help if it turns to that.

I also got a pallet of firewood loaded into the van without banging into anything. Just one because I want to see how much work it'll be unloading on the other end with just a wheelbarrow.

Toward the end of yesterday the leak at the water tank got bad enough I had to close the valve on the tank and turn off the jet pump. So at this point the house is without water pressure. I'll turn everything back on for long enough to make breakfast, but shut it back down again when I head off to town and the plumbing department at HD. Neighbor will lend me the wrenches to open the big unions, and I'm gonna try to simplify the plumber's nightmare of what's on there now. My record for hardware store visits in a day for a plumbing job is seven, and I hope I don't get anywhere close to that on this one.

84F and sunny @ 11:30, DP 57F, HU 38%, "feels like" temp 85F. Calling for a high of 90F and humidity will be building throughout the day.

Got hopper feeder refilled first thing yesterday, also seed scattered for the ground feeders.

Back and front lawns mowed, still need to catch the sides.

Another 3 gallons of glyphosate applied to various areas.

Spotted another groundhog out on the east side lawn heading over to the barn just after noon. Couldn't get a shot off before it disappeared.

Then spotted one by the bird feeders when I came in from mowing late yesterday afternoon. It had disappeared by the time I got out there with the shotgun.

Came back inside and noticed it had apparently moved to the backyard so I headed for the bedroom and got the screen removed and the window open without spooking it and managed to get off a shot.

Apparently winged it as it was having a hard time making it back to one of the burrow entrances. Possibly mortal, will know for sure if it starts stinking.

Chances of scattered thunderstorms starting tomorrow every day running through Saturday.

We are currently short 2.75" of rainfall so a little rain would be great.

Fortunately that is not as bad as the surrounding areas where they are down almost double that.

Agenda for today:

Water two rows of tomato plants with the soaker hoses.

Get Water Buffalo refilled.

Removed the one cage that has a top on it from the zucchini plant.

Mix up more glyphosate, finish refilling the one empty sprayer.

Try and find some tasks in the shade to do.

69°F and .04 inches rain.

Have to add copper strips to my hydroponic legs to deter slugs. They carry rat lung disease here, not a good thing. Two copper strips each leg will keep them from the plant area. Most concerning are leafy types like lettuce.

Really enjoyed my calamari and scallops yesterday. Sophie doesn’t like either.

Invited to a friends for a pot roast dinner tonight. Two sweet ladies, Mom (90s) and daughter we see a few times a year. One of those strange things, they lived in same NJ town as Sophie and Kelly was in Sophie’s brothers class. The other guest tonight will be our friend in common that made the connection about 10 years ago.

Removed the window AC now that the mini split is back to 100 percent

Will get continue some tasks in the barn and more tree work

Wife made pork chops yesterday with a lot of seasoning and spices

The deer are visiting and some of wife's newly planted flowers are taking hits
