Good morning!!!!

I’ve been under the bridge in a boat also
one of the big questions is why the whole bridge went down instead of just one part.
they have big stone pilings at the bottom of those bridge supports, but clearly not enough.
the opening for deep draft vessels is in the middle of the river.
seriously bad seamanship or a steering failure or?

on the Bay side of the bridge there's a big concrete piling that guides ships into middle of bridge.
On the outgoing side, it's all open
this ship didn't get lined up properly, maybe an outgoing tide, maybe maybe
they will surely investigate this thoroughly plus ship had AIS and it is tracked constantly.
They can recreate the ship's path accurately.

30 and clear going to 58.

Prayers for you and family, Buppies.

Prayers for folks affected by the Francis Key Bridge collapse.

BEF, rough luck on that tire. I'm surprised they would invoke tire rotation to avoid warranty for a nail. I'd appeal.

Had my annual visit with ophthalmologist yesterday. Everything good. She is the cheeriest person I know...so it's like an annual cheering up visit as well. Of course, eyes dilated messed up much of the rest of the day, but my wife drove, and afterwards we walked around town and had a nice lunch at a local favorite.

First off, prayers for Baltimore.

I was up there, yesterday. Oh my.....gulp. With my wife.....oh my.

29 outside, heading to 60 today.

More inside work today. Recovering paperwork and fending off the vultures associated with the paperwork.

Found a nice water damaged pic of Dad in Vietnam accepting an award for his work with the "Special Operations Group". That's the special forces units attached to the Army. Still trying to find the other stuff he was part of....

Hope all have a great day. Be safe.

Thinking of Baltimore and the rest of the country.

42F with fairly heavy rain @ 06:45, heading up to around 52F for the day's high. Accumulation 0.78" so far and it's predicted to continue throughout the day.

That's a good thing ... as precipitation has been around 1.30" below normal for the year, due to the lack of snow over winter.

Up early this morning so I fixed the day's coffee, Woman is likely to find it a bit on the strong side ... ;)

Worked out in the garage throughout Sunday night, finally knocked off around 08:30 Monday morning. Got quite a bit done, getting stuff sorted out and put away ... much of it from last year's gardening. Just in time to pull it out again in another month or two ... lol ...

Ran down to Mickey D's after that and picked a couple of Sausage McMuffins and some hash browns on a BOGO deal they were running. Ate all of it and was stuffed ... then hit the rack at about 10:30 for a little nap.

Set my alarm for 13:30, ended up sleeping for another hour and then got up and went over to the barn and got the Cub out and started mowing the front with the deck set down to 2.5". Got that about 75% done except for the lower center section where it was really too wet to mow.

That should keep most of it from getting excessively long if it stays wet over the next week or so.

Woman went out to the grocery store while I was doing that, commented that it looked nice when She got back ... (y)

She didn't go overboard on the groceries but did find a nice prime rib roast for Easter.

After I helped Her unload the car I hooked the dump cart and went over to the east side and the rear started collecting sticks. Didn't get to the west side which is where real mess before it started getting dark.

Parked the Cub back over in the barn and came inside and had some more Lamb Vindaloo which The Woman picked up at the Indian place down in Canton on Sunday. Glad I ordered it "mild" ... whee-ooo ...

Fell asleep on the couch after that until midnight and then got up and went to bed. Slept until 04:30 when I woke up, ended up going back to sleep until 05:30.

Got notice of the new rate on the contract for the government aggregation program for electric through May 2025 ... it's up about 1¢ to 5.77¢/kWh. Probably not too bad considering ...

Also got the new rate on the auto policies ... works on to about $55/month for the two vehicles which might be up a little but not much.

High temp yesterday was 68.4F and soil temp is currently 44F, with a 24-hour average temp of 48.3F so I'm not expecting a lot of growth.

Was an absolutely beautiful day for listening to tunes and mowing.

Garbage did not get taken up to the road however ... :(

Probably about time to start thinking about starting some seeds for the garden though. Will need to bring in the old aquarium stand to set the trays up on.

House plants are about due to be watered again and the Woman's Amaryllis needs to be repotted if I can locate some appropriately-sized pots.

Other than probably spend more time out in the garage working things cleaned up.

Really need to drag the across my face before it's out of control.

Hope everyone is having a decent Tuesday ... (y)

Good morning, the low is 36F, high 48°F. Wind ESE 20 gusting to 27 mph. Showers.
The warmish rain will cut away the snow and help pull the frost out of the ground. I think winters' back is broken.

The boat hitting the bridge is scary stuff! Here is hoping there were no fatalities.

rs, can you stand a spoon up in your coffee?

Have a safe day all

Good Morning
It’s 35° with a high just under 50 forecast under partly cloudy skies.

Been a busy past few days, helping a friend deal with his wife’s recent stroke and getting some things done around here.

Got things rearranged in the shop getting ready for mowing season, the Lazer that was buried in the back is now first out the door. Tractor is in its normal position where it’s effortless to park the loader, as I generally remove it for normal tractor work.

Got the speakers finished, just waiting for grills to arrive.

Carb from neighbors pressure washer ready for the ultrasonic cleaner, it was a victim of bad gas.

We have had a partridge wandering around the last couple of days, I’m curious about where it came from. I doubt it will survive long, it’s way too tame to avoid predators, this is an iPhone picture.

Took Zoe to the vet yesterday, while we were in the waiting room, she saw a dog that she wanted to meet, and pulled me so hard that my feet and the rug that I was standing on went out from under me. I landed on the quarry tile floor on my back. Wife was impressed that I neither hit my head, or let go of the leash. Of course, Zoe turned around and licked my head and cleaned my ears while I was down. Fortunately, no bruises or soreness today.

Today starts with breakfast with the professor, then we’ll see what comes up.

32F going to a sunny 55F in Beautiful Northern Nevada.

There was a hint of snowfall overnight-- but we did not get any.

I am now officially a law-breaking scofflaw. I was recently running a burn pile. Nearby there was debris from house repairs I have done. Including painted wood. Painted wood is on the list of prohibited items you are not supposed to burn.

I threw the painted wood on the fire and burned it up. Not a huge amount, and it did save me a trip to the dump which would spew hydrocarbons out the tailpipe of my dump truck. So maybe I was really "green friendly" instead? :D

I stayed out of the smoke in case inhaling the fumes would be bad. So I am now officially a "rebel" breaking the rules. Since it seems everything in CA is prohibited this might become a habit.

Why is burning painted wood prohibited-- what is it about doing that which causes harm?

Morning all, 35 going to 50 and cloudy.
Worked on the driveway and stacking some cut up trees.

This bridge strike is horrible. But imagine if during rush hour :-( I hope they can save those that fell. This I am sure will change how the replacement bridge is built I hope...

Today need to rearrange tractor garage to pull out mower. Need to do a few oil changess, no time for a while.

It's been a lot of paperwork this week. Still haven't heard from accountant. Need to shop for a new one....

Be well,

Have not heard from LS :-(

Buppies, hope you get some rest today. Maybe a good day to go out and wander around.

Good Morning!!!! 44F @ 5:00AM. Sunny. High 63F. Winds NW at 15 to 25 mph. Higher wind gusts possible.
Gosh, was it windy here yesterday! Had to pick up a sheet of pegboard and another sheet of Masonite, and getting them from the store and into the van was like wrestling snakes.

Couldn't have done a better job destroying that bridge if they were trying to.

You're not burning anything most of us have burned and will burn again, PH. Almost every tree or bush I've burned is loaded with poison oak, and you can bet I stay out of that smoke.

The termite attack a few years ago damaged the shelving and top on my workbench, so that's on today's menu to fix. Also need to get the workbench into place and bolted to the wall for extra support using some 7" lag bolts. And finally get pegboard up so I can unpack a few more boxes of tools.

Property taxes are due in a couple weeks, so got that taken care of yesterday. OUCH!

Put a vacation hold on FedEx deliveries for the last trip north, which I cancelled last Thursday. FedEx has yet to provide a delivery date for two held shipments, so I'll have to call 'em today. They may be the fastest ship in the shipping business, but they're not very agile. Kinda like that freighter in Baltimore.
