Even though I have a degree in welding engineering, I've always said I'm a better grinder than a weldor, Kyle. Even though you say your welds are rough, I bet they're still prettier than mine.

When I winched the 1500 pound lathe up the drop gate and into the box trailer yesterday, Helogabals, I put a jack under the rear end of the trailer. Everything worked except I had to keep straightening out the lathe because the caster of the lift dolly wheels was somehow decreased by the slope, especially before both ends were up on the ramp. I was especially pleased with how easy the new winch with its rope instead of wire worked, and the new longer reach eliminated re-rigging it in the middle of a lift.

had a nice visit with my brother and came home to utter frustration.
went to change the propane bottle on greenhouse heater and it refused to light the burner even after pilot was on.
as soon as I lifted the pilot button would cut off all the gas. I must have tried for fifteen minutes and gave up.
of course forecast for tonight is 19 degrees.
So....
twenty minutes later all the flowers taken out of greenhouse and piled on living room floor.
will deal with it tomorrow.

Tired. Son has first track meet tomorrow for 8th graders. Coach wants him to run in the max number of events he can run, which is 3 running events and 2 field events. He does well at running, but his field events....not so much.

Son and I played a little basketball after church today.

Coffee is done brewing. 28° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 55° with mostly sunny skies. Got a whole day of conserve energy in yesterday. No aches or pain from doing things the day before. Back to getting things done today. Need to clean up lawn along road. Lots of gravel got plowed off road on to my grass. This will get me some tractor seat time.

Currently 30 going to a cloudy 49. Great weather for February! Weekend was nice! Sister loved her "Yabbit"
Need to take the great nephew to school today. Will leave here about 6 am. and should be back sometime around 7:30ish to head down into the shop. To muddy out in the yard to get much cleanup going and still way to early for round here. I envy anyone starting flowers and seeds. We don't even start thinking about that stuff till April. Last frost for us is in late May.
Both of us are much better in the flu/cold dept. just small residual cough.
That's it for now.

Going to be mild to warm BEF winter was a big disappointment to us snow lovers and next year looks like more of the same. Around mid March you may get something more like winter

Finished up my part on moving my MIL yesterday. Took all afternoon, after trying out a new Mexican restaurant over there. Good. Made it to the dump with my load before the 7pm closing time. Truck is empty and happy. My wife still has some small things to look through but I'm free to catch up on roasting, hiking and firewood. Probably let the stove go out today.

39 outside this AM, heading to mid 60's. Rain moving in later tomorrow and this week. Darn.

Yesterday was a catchup day for all the things on my to-do list. Dump runs. Plural. Milk House trim work, inside and out. Milk House water proofing, yippie, Rearrange some construction supplies, yippie. General cleaning....yup! And....ventured into the woods for more firewood. Even managed to split and stack about 50 pieces for the wood stove, which by the way, got used last night.

Today will be real job day, and coordinate with the tile guy, whom the SO insists on using. Me, I have reservations about this guy, he does awesome work, but the communications between the three of us seemed to not link up. I'll step back now and let her finish off her project. LOL.

Good morning! 55˚F southerly breeze heading to 90˚with cloudy skies.

This weekend was a tax preparation weekend just getting all the stuff ready for the estate and Mom's last return to take to the accountant.

Heater is off and AC was running last night to cool the house down after a warm Sunday. We had been opening the windows at night but last night it was warmer outside than inside (75˚) It should be cooling off enough by mid week to turn the heater back on.

The drip irrigation at the garden was looking good, not too much water for the potatoes. I had to fix a leak, just a drippy filter which stoped after I put a wrench to it.
