Morning all, was 23F for the dog walk this morning, going up to 43 and the sun is back.
Son off to play for 2 bands today, we won't see him for a while.
He showed off his new, complete bed to his GF yesterday while here, and then they went downstairs to watch TV. Closet etc. working out and he was hanging up more clothes yesterday.

For gigles I tried using the drawer backs from the old box that said full/double on the now verified and measured full/double front drawer and it did not fit there either.
So it looks like the old set had one full/double, one unmarked possibly Queen size and one box marked full/double with possible king size drawer backs.
Verifying it wasn't me and after all this I was measuring each piece before assemb. and all the new parts are all the right size.
One 2x4 cut up to mount the headboard to the wall studs and all is done.

Now have to get IKEA to pick up old bed so I don't have to drive it out there and dump it off in front of the store entrance!

Today will try to get dog out to socialize until we have to pick up son at club where he is playing.

I use phone link on Win11/Android to transfer my photos, only connect via wire to upload to network storage. Wireless charging works well for both my iPhone and Android.

Hoop looks great Kyle, and has some style.

Drew - did you close the valve and only open it 1/4 turn to make sure the valve didn't lock out? All this extra safety stuff can certainly be bothersome.

Be well,

I actually started measuring every piece first after the last fiasco;

But this time the boxes all had matching parts, now I can move on in life :)

Popgadget told me to check the connections on the thermocouple since safety valve would not release gas.
I checked all the brass fittings in there, nicely built, all tight as can be. Squeezed the little electrical contacts but it was sparking just fine.
turned it over, hooked it up, and it ignited within seconds. ok all's well that ends well
came in to get lunch then will haul all the plants back out again this afternoon.

nice sunny blue sky day, just wish it was warmer, 38 going up to 42

Ken, congrats on the bed. good way to persevere

62°A f and 1 inch rain.

Successfully spent lots of money at Costco yesterday.
Very nice lunch with the retired military group with a presentation with by a member who was a key player in The Wall That Heals visit.

Looked at a Woods rotary cutter but too much a project for me, especially for the money. Did enjoy talking with the guy.

Scag gets picked up today for professional attention.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 8:15AM. A mix of clouds and sun. High 68F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

OK, you guys made me look it up. Picked up a Stihl MS261 on ebay in 2016 for $376, the one with carb. It doesn't have a primer bulb, and since I run it dry after each use, requires more pulling than I'd like to get it started. The much smaller Stihl MS 192 T C-E was my go to saw, as it does have a priming bulb and starts with only a couple pulls. Most of my trees are small enough that it handles them easily. Plus, I do almost all my cutting now with a Makita electric, so after this place sells, the Stihl will be for sale also.

Congrats on finishing the bed, Ken. Very frustrating to work with people either incompetent or that just don't care. And +1 on the iPhone wireless charging; very convenient.

Yesterday started with spraying 30 gallons of pre-emergent/glyphosate mix to kill the abundant weeds, much of it with a wand. I should follow up with broadcasting Preen over the areas I didn't hit yesterday.

Switched to more packing, first in the kitchen then moving out to the garage. When I moved the table saw I found a pile of sawdust, and under that a dead bunny rabbit. That's the second one I've found in the garage. I think they sneak in and then can't get out and get trapped for a week or two while I'm down at the other house. Guess those two won't make that mistake again.

Made the mistake of trying to stand up while I'd been kneeling under a cabinet and banged my head pretty good. That was enough packing and cleaning for the day, and I recovered by sipping a little Bourbon while listening to music on the back porch. Temps were in the high 60s, and the sunshine felt good.

More packing and loading the van today, and see if I can get it up the hill. If all goes well and an Amazon delivery comes today, I'll probably hit the road tomorrow and head south for another week.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!

Went to worship, wasn’t too mentally checked in. Still feeling poor. Picked up lunch from the Italian place.
This sickness has thrown me for a loop.
I also heard my dad isn’t doing too well, getting very forgetful recently.

Think My Stihl is 029 farm boss. I’ve had it over 30 yrs, probably hasn’t cut over a dozen trees. Still has original bar and chain. But when you need it, you need it. I used my pole saw more, easier to start. Now that I have the battery saw, it gets used.
Have an old homelite hanging around somewhere.
Now my dad would wear out chainsaws, he cut so much.

That’s why I use AvGas. Can keep it full, it can sit for years, and start on the first oil or two.
I also use the Makita for most smaller tasks, so the Stihl doesn’t get used as often as the 026 did.

Good Afternoon Dennis,
Yep,I have the Farm Boss also and I have a smaller Stijl 025, I think ! Kind of wish I had a small limb saw also, but I don’t !

Actually using the Farm Boss today on an ash that came down in the last storm !
That thing will really cut when the chain is sharp ! But kind of heavy for small work !

Get well soon !

Good evening already !

44F here, same as RIGA Latvia! Although it might warm up much more here, as we have sunny skies and they have rain.
😁
Lovely day today
In Riga today still around 6 C / 44 F, but I have made "rancho run". There was colder, but still above freezing.
At morning empty wagon was running over ice, nice and smooth, just loaded start to fall trough, but nothing critical

but sun was doing job fast
This is road to forest. Normally that creek is barely seem at bottom of 2 meters deep ditch. Now water is almost running over road. And we have there under road like 2 ft pipe for that flow

It seems that today our logging season is over.

All high-value logs are at roadside, so great success. There is still something in the forest, but I will not cry for those logs

One example is this 2 ft+ aspen. Yeah, big but sawmills are not buying that big.
I am not happy to split for firewood it either.
In case will have some freezing nights, BIL will take that timber out. But if not - dont care.

iCloud, Dropbox or email.
Personally I use icloud. With TBN works drag and drop, if pic is not resized. TBN somehow compress it and it works just fine

For archive I am paying for flicker

Checked out the Stihl chain saws at the center. Next time I need something bigger will get the Stihl 261. It comes with manual carb or auto adjust, same price

Despite cold weather flowers are starting to come out

Nice
I have just heard first migrant birds, a bit too early for flowers here

My 0,02 $ for saw. Recently I was choosing between Husqy 545 and Stihl 261 C. Both comes with that "autotune" carb.
Stick with Swedes, mainly because they have better service here.
Today was first day for new saw. Really love that thing.
I am not pushing nothing, just recommending - check them too.

~~~~~~~~
At the end today I have made 4 wagons of aspens for sawmill and like 2 are ready to be collected for pulp. That's a lot. But just fine for last day. Really exhausted, but happy.
Guess I will take a shot (or two) with nice french drink (not lemonade) 😁
That's about it, have a nice evening !
Good (Monday) morning. Overnight Low of 13.8C and it's presently 17.3C, clear with a breeze.
I'm up fairly early (for a retiree) as there's a 1000 job that needs doing on the Church grounds; a 'bunch' of us are going to manually shift a caravan (used as temporary accommodation for those in 'need') to a new location.
Penelope the Pussybeast AND 'Mighty Huntress' presented me with a half-dead mouse this morning. Good girl! Get them mousies!!!
That's about it, take care all.
