I looked up those cockatoos. Beautiful. Are they shy like our black crows?
Shy in that you can't approach them. They're mostly close to my the house though, in the blackwood trees that I have around the property. 2-6 at a time.

What if you put out some peanuts for them? or is there a specific nut they are supposed to eat?

After a 'Googling' it looks like they only eat native seeds and pine-cones (plus those nasty grubs inside tree limbs). Those beaks are bloody powerful & can shred a tree-limb down to the core to get at those grubs.

It seems that I have a number of native trees that attract them, though.

good morning, 44 going to 59 today nice day no rain

Our local rescue mission in town is doing good work helping people. They got a donation of 90,000 diapers yesterday. Would like to volunteer if I could be away from helping wife for longer period. I have a lot of respect for people going to help out
I have worked in the rescue mission soup kitchen before, making and serving food, but been awhile.

RNGs post made me check for amazon deliveries. The lying USPS claims they tried to deliver one at 7pm. Mailbox is empty. I’m sitting where I can see driveway, no vehicles been in. Did not get email from mailbox that it has been opened at all today, although someone opened it at 10:30 last night. Good thing I got yesterday deliveries out before then.
So USPS lied telling Amazon they tried to deliver.

those wiper blades are six month old Bosch wipers, I bet I could use a certain cleanser on them to clean off the road oil or whatever is making them chatter.
But having a non squeaking wiper is so wonderful really don't mind the price

did something I've never done before
decorated the rv for Christmas, happily up on blocks and now sporting
its new wheel storage covers.
little by little, getting there

geez that was a gunky mess in the hot water heater.
the worst is where the old anode was really eaten up
I tried to clean it, finally resorted to carefully swiping a round file through that mess, not even to get to the bottom,
but enough to clean it out a little. New anode put back in, ready for the Spring.
second pic is before, not like after is much of an improvement.
I really wanted a bottle brush and a gallon sprayer of water
now looking at this pic, next trip out will clean off that rust ring and wipe some oil on it
I hate rust
Tire covers, good idea just ordered some, since new tires on camper.

51° bit warm inside next to pellet stove.
Foggy this morning, good breakfast with the gang.
Went to neighbors annual party this afternoon evening. Nice time.
He was in ND hunting a few weeks ago. His truck broke down on way back, they couldn’t get it fixed fast. Couldn’t find one way rental so he bought a new truck to get home. Then after his old truck got fixed, he couldn’t find someone to ship it back, so he flew out and drove it back. I said you should of called, I’m up for a road trip.

good job Don, bet you are glad that is over, quite a lot of junque

just kicking back, did plenty today, expect rains to start later tonight and go into
tomorrow, another foggy morning

Scott, I'm not a chocolate chip person. Would not QC those...
homemade oatmeal raisin cranberry cookies with very little sugar added
a plate of those would not last long

actually have pigged out on the bakery stuff I brought home this morning from school, all home made,
all pretty standard stuff
no baklava...
though I did get some baklava ordered, two small boxes of assorted sweets, for xmas house visit presents
plus a big box of something sweet for MIL, two others for friends, lot of expensive sugar
tis the season

They have sliced dried cranberries that are excellent.
They work very well in soft chewy oatmeal cookies and I usually have a big handful when I have a bowl of oatmeal.

Good morning !

-5°C = 23°F
Forecast says it will go down. But will have less snow falling

Yesterday was rather busy day. Shop run at morning then playing with tractor. Switched snow blade to bucket, took out most of the snow from backyard to the end of driveway.
Little kids already occupied that pile. Nice slope where to hurt their lover back 😁

Now I have Supercharger run, time to read TBN. Y'all are productive 😁

Monday midday have meeting at Italy - key supplier is organizing annual gathering. Was mess with tickets, decided to fly this evening and to make most of Monday set extra meeting with another supplier earlier morning. Good that their HQ is only 1 h apart

Will see how flights will go. I am flying with Lufthansa, via Frankfurt. Snowstorm has hit south Germany so badly that Munich airport is fully closed

Will check in again from Italy

Have a nice Sunday !

Coffee is brewing. 36° with misty rain this morning. Heading to 41° with off and on rain. Got last of house cleaning done yesterday. Then remembered that I had not changed oil in car. Less than 2000 miles since last oil change. No plans for today.

Drew, get covers for wiper blades. Along with windshield cover. It protected wiper blades from sun.

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Good Morning All.

good morning all
a relatively warm 47 out, light rain all night, continuing through most of today
only plans for today are indoors organization, office first.
once I get enough done, might go work on rv toilet

I have a full cover ready for the rv, but will need a number of hands to help me, some ladders and maybe a rope.
want to get that done while rv is still clean. Need a dry day for that, hopefully next weekend.

dentist went after one sore tooth, said I needed a crown (yet another...) at some point.
Day later whole area sore, now infected, now taking penicillin. I seem to get infected really easily.
can't bite down on one side
one way to lose some weight...;)
this too shall pass

lot of talk about changing weather patterns, says we will be warm for next two weeks (?) and then very cold
I wouldn't mind a little snow for Christmas.
reminds me to start the snowblower

hope you all have a nice day

55 and still raining, but not quite as hard as 4am when it woke both my wife and me. Should touch 67 and stop raining later.

Kyle, interesting article. Sharyl has always been a good reporter.

Helo, nice snow...looks like kids are enjoying it.

My oldest son took some men and their young sons and daughters down to the farm deer hunting yesterday...they harvested 5 does and 3 bucks, including two big ones...might get them mounted. Happy smiles on those kids' faces with their deer. I was hoping they might get a couple coyotes.

My middle son helped me split and stack firewood. Splitter started in less than 10 pulls...pretty good for it after sleeping all summer and running not too new gas. Watched Project Farms' "Does fuel stabilizer prevent ethanol damage" youtube yesterday...so ugly what ethanol does.

Drinking a coffee they brought me from a craft roaster...I give them so much, and never buy any from stores, so they like to treat me. (shhhh...just doesn't taste as good as mine...but don't tell them).

53 outside this AM, heading to lower 60's. Nice and warm outside.

Rain most of the night, lots of it. Probably biggest rain event this year.

Hope all have a great day today and a good start to the week.

Back when we lived in Jersey, I went directly there several times, it is really easy to get to off the GSP, and if you really buy things in bulk it can save significantly on shipping charges.

I saw on the news here a report that some overly self-important people who were supposed to fly to Dubai for a conference on why it would never snow again (unless everyone except them gave up all their modern conveniences and most necessities) could not get their private jets unfrozen from the tarmac…

Good morning, the low temperature is 15 and the high to 27°F. Wind NE 12 mph. Snow.
They say the snow will start this afternoon and go throughout the night. They are talking about another 4". P.I.T.A. snow.

I just remembered that I forgot to pam my back blade.

Wagtail, where are you??
Search for runaway kangaroo in Ontario continues

Poor roo

Have a safe day all

On YouTube, chickanic has several videos on both ethanol gas and canned “ethanol-free” gas and premixed fuels.
