Rules:

Pay $1 Entry Fee.
Bring a pumpkin, or buy one at Registration ($5).
Wait for you number to be called.
Three at a a time roll pumpkins down steep hill.
The furthest pumpkin of the day wins.

Basketballs cannot identify as pumpkins (I call bigotry!!!)

Turns out I have a pumpkin roll every fall, no entry fee, no waiting for number, 1 at a time. If it makes the woods it’s a success. 😂
Only mine might be a tad on the rotting side, depending on how long I wait to hold the festival.

Decent sleep in a hotel. Will probably hit Cracker Barrel for breakfast instead of the hotel free stuff, then cruise up the skyline drive and head home. Was going to make it a full weekend, but wife wanted to camp and we head out Monday for a few days, so will be a busy Sunday.
Mom would have turned 99 today. She almost made it to 92.
Tomorrow I start another trip around.
My sister came down skyline drive yesterday and is visiting her husband’s relatives in Roanoke today.

Our church supports a school in Africa, and my oldest son supports a young child there thru a program. They write back and forth to each other. Nice colorful clothing.

Finished trimming and fertilizing the strawberries planted in the ground yesterday
Good Morning Guys,
Another rainy saturday ! 51 to start going to 59 ! Frits does that temp sound familiar? Same as yours !

RS, beautiful job on cleaning all those parts up, they are like new! Also was wondering what you and your wife do with all your produce from your very large garden ? Im guessing a lot of canning or possibly a road side stand !

Even though we had heavy rain this morning, the yellow in the back yard of the Ct home is really brilliant, even without the sun being out !

All have a blessed day!! 🙏

wonderful pics Frits, please thank your daughter
some place I'll never get to. Can't drive there and too far to boat.
Too bad there isn't a big river going up and down South Africa so you could take a river cruise ship
in complete comfort, and safety, going the whole way.
A boat trip down the Nile looking at pyramids sounds like fun. But how about getting through the jungle?
could you ask your daughter to swing by the pyramids on her way home and get some good pics? ;)

I wonder what the first thing that comes to mind is when one of the locals there see your daughter's friends.
human nature is so wary of folks who are different
lot of history.

when RS is done with that appliance it will run better than new.

my water filters are terrible. Pressure drops too soon, getting more like three months out of them instead of six.
And they are before my copper pipes, not after.
Really need a small unit at kitchen for drinking water.
acidic coppery water. yuk.

Really the solution is to get rid of the copper pipes.
There isn't that much of it, tiny house with one bathroom, but copper is leaching like mad.
It constantly stains the appliances and I'm sick of using CLR and other specialty cleaners on it.
plus I wonder what is going into my body.

now that I have my new pex tool, look out, he's on the loose.
I'll get OJT on the rv and graduate to the house.
Maybe I"ll have Ken over to supervise. Apples are in so my powers of bribery have increased.

Good Morning Drew,
Don’t know about the exhaust pipe location for 50’s vehicles but this is how it looked in 1930 ! 😉

Happy Birthday Dennis !🎈🎂

the small air tank I bought is preset at 10 psi and says to
set it at 3 psi below the cut in point of the water pump.
That term is not described in the directions.
am I correct to assume the cut in pressure is 40 psi?

thinking I'm safe to pump the little bladder up to 30psi, that's plenty lower
??

"why did it post twice don't know"

It is a sign of the awakening consciousness of all the computers on the internet. They are starting to exercise their free will and do stuff. We may already be too dependent on them to stop it.

Morning all, 58 going to 62 and rain moved out, last night light rain.

Got some more decoration lights and wiring done.
Split 2 more loads of wood, hit my limit and to the chair for a rest watching old horror movies.

M7040 - I used to collect knives, still have about 200 of them stored away. Used to love going to shows and meeting some of the makers. Was one in Solvang California who actually let me watch some of his blade finishing technique, that was a great experience.
Love the Africa pictures, miss being there, well except for the crime, as I worked in South Africa.

BEF - hope the crack wasn't too bad, windshield with sensors etc a pain.
Happy Birthday !

Drew - do not increase the pressure in the tank without knowing exactly where is should be set. Blowing seals is not fun. Ask Paul or someone who would know.

I did a Nile cruise many years ago, spent a few weeks in Egypt after working in Japan and Singapore. Met the wife there for a tour. Miss traveling like that, especially when so much was paid by the company. I have been to over 40 countries, more than 20 for work.
Seeing M7040's daughters pictures brings back so many memories and it's great to see young people like her out seeing the world.

Off to take son for driving lessons.

Be well,

Had to replace gas cap on splitter, something tried to eat it?

Squirrels eat at my gas caps.

Bid on a few items. Not sure what I'll end up with.

68°F and no rain.

Will get that last AP either reset or replaced. I do have a spare. Then I can test coverage in various spots. Have a bit of cleanup at the Cottage from the antenna work. Our Canadian friends are scheduled to return on the 30th.

Received the SunJoe electric PW that was a bargain buy during Prime. Would like to get unboxed and checked out but with this drought quite reluctant to waste any water.

Anyone ever shred cardboard? Read some interesting stuff on using a heavy duty paper shredder. Seems like a better use as soil amendment or mulch than hauling off. Would be good for all that junk mail that needs to be opened before shredding for the current shredder which is more than 10 years old.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Drew, your cut in & cutout pressure is set at the regulator. ONLY pressure the tank up to what is listed on the label. I put a pressure gauge where the water comes out of the tank and before any lines run off it.
I may be mistaken but if I recall rightly 30 is the cut in setting and 40 is the cut out setting.

52F and mostly cloudy @ 15:00, calling for a high of 53F today with periods of rain. 0.26" since midnight, total yesterday was 0.83".

Ten Day continues to improve somewhat: now calling for 1 day with a 71F high (Tuesday)

But the downside is that there is a chance of frost/freeze Sunday night with a low of 32 predicted, high Sunday might not even break 50F. Low chances of rain for the next 4 days.

The goofus from Amazon drove across the yard yesterday to turn his vehicle around ... partially over the area where I just planted the grass seed ... 🤬

The Amazon lady today who dropped off the bore brush set managed to stay on the driveway. Woman said she was in a smaller vehicle.

Collected more softener parts from the basement and brought them up to the kitchen.

Got brine injector body disassembled and put the parts in vinegar to soak.

Worked on cleaning the brass body for the flow meter.

Discovered that the Amazon order yesterday had the end brushes in it, used one in a drill on the body for the flow meter. Worked good ... (y)

Compiled a BoM for softener parts needed and priced it out, came to $223.85 + $9.95 shipping.

This guy showed up late yesterday at the hosta bar for a snack, looking a little sad with only a half a rack though:

IMG_3008 copy.jpg

But appeared to be healthy otherwise ... although I didn't get a look at his other side.

Likely back to work on cleaning valve for the rest of the day.

Hope everyone is having a decent Saturday ... (y)

We have friends that have done Danube trip loved it
that is supposed to be lovely, and peaceful with lots to look at

I think I want a boat in Africa with a lot more freeboard.
Some critters with mighty big teeth are all around
when you are told you are on the Piranha River, you better keep
your hands in...

Having lived 6 years in Heidelberg I was unenthusiastic to go, having seen any number of castles etc. Of course that was before the river cruises and boy was I wrong. A very different perspective. AMA does a great job. Much more personal than the major ocean cruise.
