57 outside this AM, may get to 70 today. 93% humidity.

Weathers kind of yucky, indoor activity only.

Mortality talks and births in the same few posts. Life and time go on.

Waiting on one more plumbing estimate, these last guys are smart. Both work together, one does trenching one does indoor piping. And they both talk details. What, where, when, why.... probably will go with them just because of the breakdowns of work to be done. If we can get it in writing.

I will be nice to be able to pound on metal with a proper anvil instead of the disc brake rotors or train rail piece (a 3/4” slice - useful for getting into hollow objects but only if they are flat), or the 3” think piece do 3” billet steel that was Grandpa’s Nail Straightener… or Great-Grandpa’s Columbia’s vise (very bad form, I know, but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do…).

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

57.7F going to upper 70s, cloudy day forecasted. Good day for moving firewood around etc.

amoung other scores from the thrifts yesterday, Mrs got a very nice fleece-lined sweater that comes almost to her knees, a couple other garments, I got an 8-gallon heavy-wall commercial aluminum stockpot (with most of the label still on it) for $20, a KitchenAid mixing bowl with the plastic chute, straight dough hook/bent dough hook/ plain paddle/enameled paddle/ whisk for $5, and two 1gallon jugs of hand sanitizer for $2 each.

Mrs is starting to learn things from operating the wood splitter: as we were driving around, we saw several pickups with firewood loaded in the beds for sale (it is that time of year). after about the third one, she said “how do you know you are really getting a full pickup load? The can stack the part by the tailgate nice and tight but spread it out deeper in, especially if they put all knotty and toasty pieces in there!”

today will be working on hot tub, among other home based tasks.

I recently learned, after decades of living with gas utilities and gas water heaters, that electric water heaters have a sacrificial anode that needs to be replaced regularly. Which explains the grey-white fleck that I have seen every time I drained down the tank for the season when we would snowbird to Fl every fall… so that will finally get done after owning this place for 9 years…

you learn something new every day!

58 going to 65 and more drizzle...about same as yesterday...making my grass grow like crazy.

Finally got enough rain to make the little side creek flow over the waterfall at the battlefield forest where I hiked yesterday.

Morning all, 52 going up to 66 and supposed to see sun later.
New medicine received, no work got done, tired.
Today prep for tomorrow tests.
Insurance is rejecting some of the "investigative" tests. Will fight them when I feel better.

This weekend back to sheetrocking.
The min-split is working great so far, can change temp drastically in a short period of time.
