still fairly calm here, but storm is coming inland in NC and will get Eastern VA and MD on way up

Since wind is ENE turning to NE, and I am facing the ocean with front of rv, wind will be mostly in front of me. Maybe a little in the lee of the dunes, but I doubt much.

I've seen a bunch of folks leave. Looks like about 2/3 full here with lots of open transient spots.

Cleared out my Summer Garden and the compost dumpster was full. Not a problem just throw the plants in the tractor loader and smash everything down.
The dumpster is behind the steering wheel in the pic. Went ahead and mashed down the other two dumpsters.
Load in pic is half of what I pulled.

I just got the dreaded call...I go back to work tomorrow at noon. Bobtail up to the bay (1 hour) and pin my wagons and circle check (1 hour) load yet another hour and ride part way there to a town called Britt, ON.
On the west side of Sturgeon Falls, ON there is a Mennonite restaurant that puts up a reasonably priced meal and they have lots of truck parking.
This will be my last post until after my summer work is finished.

Evening to all;
Kind of an interesting day for me. My contractor for the house remodels has been absent the last few days, been getting hit or miss if he's going to show up. But they showed today and we worked on the trim details and prepping the window frames for trimming, finally got the details decided and started cutting. All the trim and siding is going to be James Hardi cement board as was the soffit and fascia. Them carpenter bee's will have to find another structure to destroy. Damn there goes my little shop.

Pricing out drip edges and trim it was hard to find and expensive so I went and bought a used Tapco 10 ft trim brake, spent the morning working with some small pieces of plain flashing I had to get used to it, then spent the afternoon cutting the roll of white trim down to 8" strips then hemming them and breaking them for much of the trim. Guess I'll start on the gray trim pieces tomorrow. Sure not a professional, but me and you tube can sure turn out some simple trim pieces. Not to bad for an old man with a new tool.

Everyone stay safe and healthy if possible.

Have not seen any around here. But if it was it would be gone after not being hit by the first shot. Sounded like full magazine was cycled through the gun
They do travel in packs…

Similar hit, (but I noticed it) about 1990.
Was driving a '78 olds station wagon, was stopped for a left turn, waiting on traffic. All of a sudden BLAM, a small foreign car (Toyota?) had plowed into my rear. It had been propelled by a large American car (Buick) ramming into it.
Crumpled the Toyota in front and rear.
When the LEO was investigating with all cars in their resting position the toyota was about 4 feet behind my SW. The LEO could see the crumpled Toyota front and rear end but couldn't find a dent in my Olds bumper. We finally found where the dirt had been rubbed off the bumper.
I miss my Steel Pig…

I hit a cow in an 1978 Impala and it leaned over when the bumper hit and creased the front sheet metal. It got up and left. Replaced the sheet metal. It was where you could actually unscrew it and bolt in a new piece. Remember those days?
LEO dispatcher keeps asking about make and model color of the car I hit. A cow black with horns. Yes but make and model?
It had to be a coupe because the doors on the sedan are too small for a cow to get into the vehicle…

Very sorry taking so long to reply. You have an over-producing parathyroid gland, making excess Parathyroid Hormone (PTH). Excess PTH will drive up your calcium. Once 12 or above, it can make bones brittle by trying to suck too much calcium out of them. Spontaneous fractures can occur (hip often). You are vulnerable to getting kidney stones. That tiny little gland on its way to causing a great deal of mischief for you. Pretty easy procedure to remove it. I will refer you to ENT to discuss surgery.

Your a very nice man sir, but my goodness you are getting a litany of medical problems. The horizon of health consequences is migrating closer. Please be sure to see nephrology. I am very happy to keep managing your diabetes, but maybe getting endocrinology involved in your care a good idea? They also manage hyperparathyroidism. I'd still be your PCP, but with the potential incoming storm, maybe recruit the experts?

I'm placing ENT referral. Let me know your thoughts on endocrinology. I would like to see you again in 6 to 8 weeks from now.

Thank you,

Erik Womeldorf

This is what I'm dealing with. Not a good day
Rum will help.

it will all still suck, but you won’t care (for a while).

Good Mor—-er… um. . .
Anywho…

Pre-Anniversary Warm Up Celebration Day, sortakinda hectic this morning what with Mom staying over etc.

Mrs and I drove into Georgia and went bowling. About an40 mile drive, because shortly after we moved here from No the local bowling alley&skating rink closed…

Mrs. Kicked my butt, but then again neither of us has bowled in about 12 years, and she was in a league for a number of years and I hadn’t bowled for another 20 years before that last time.

I am sure we will both feel it In The morning 😂🤣😂

picked up two hive top feeders as summer draws to a close — gotta so everything to keep the bees going through the winter. This week I will see if we can get any honey out of the stronger hive. Walmart is going to think I am running a still when I start buying all those 25- and 50-pound bags of sugar to make syrup to feed the bees…

tomorrow is a trip up to Tennessee to go to Buc-ees, wander around the tourist traps of Sevierville and Pigeon Forge, Mrs. Will get to use her Marshall’s gift card she got for Christmas, and the the Dolly Parton Pirates Dinner Show. Followed by a trip over the Smoky Mountains in the dark to get back home.

i hope everyone had a good day and that tomorrow will be even better and more blessed.

Good (Friday) morning. Overnight Low of 2C and it's presently 15.6C, mostly clear and calm. There was 0.3mm in the rain gauge @ 0900.

Great meeting last evening (good 'pub' meal too). Home by 2130.

More 'pick up sticks' planned for the day.

That's about it, take care all.

Good early evening! Low today was 48°, finally hit the high of 81°. The forecasted 'heavy rain' for last night went waaayyy south.... then across to the DFW area. Not a drop here......

Buppies, take the dr's advice.... get the specialists involved. Don't want to wait until the last minute..... then they'll all argue who has to do what first.....
Our prayers are with you.

Fritz, I thought that Costco had Kona coffee cheaper.....
Nope -- they want $59 a pound. I don't think ANY coffee is worth that much! ....unless it comes with its own baristas.

Drew, hope the storm goes past quickly. At least you don't have to worry about trees falling.....

Dennis, enjoy the RV weekend. Maybe next season won't be as crazy for us and we'll get out more.....

Thomas, you have had 2 warnings from the Mrs. ....You better heed her warnings.... Who knows what the 3rd will bring..... Are you a gambling man?

Good progress on the addition. Got the small section basically framed. Will finish squaring and sheathing the roof deck tomorrow. Then the next section to start with layout. Hopefully under roof by Sunday. The son and Gs have been doing all the heavy work. They are both learning.....
