Good morning 73 going to 95 today
HOT

When in town yesterday it showed 100 F on the car instrument but back down to 92 when up at elevation back home.

Picked up Cody all brushed out for the undercoat looking skinny now

The mowers used a good portion of the day mowing tree plantings running two John Deer ZTs. Did not leave much in the way of clippings must have some kind of mulching setup

A big branch finally came down that I could not reach and was hanging

Wife's wasp sting is mostly healed but the cavity in the log wall is where they hide and wasp spray does not work on them. they just laugh
Ordered some dust and puffer tool that is supposed to work

68° when I got up, 77° now. We ran over to feed our friends fish in their koi pond. He is in hospital getting stem cell transplant for cancer.
Not much planned today, except stay inside.
My hammer drill has no problem putting a 3” hole thru concrete.

Good Morning
77 already, heading past 90. Not very September like for us in PA.
Still no rain, getting dry out there, but I am getting a reprieve from mowing.

Yesterday made some progress cleaning up, spent some time at the township land use office talking with the twp manager and zoning officer about adding an in-law suite to either the house or shop. Looks like either is doable. We are working on possibly having youngest son and his wife take over our house, which is much more space than we need as empty nesters. The other consideration is facing the reality that I won’t always be able to do what I can now, and will eventually need help. Much better to plan for a transition now, than when it’s a necessity.
And keeping the facility in the family is important to me, as his brother has a piece of the farm and old farmhouse now.

Today I’m going to prep some brisket and pork shoulders that I’m going to feed the VFD at their meeting tomorrow evening. I’ll get the smoker loaded up tonight.
Need to do a Home Depot run, not sure what else I’ll get into. But I’ll figure something out.

What kind of hole saw do you use? I have 2 hammer drills, and neither is moving quickly with carbide.

Thomas lots of variables for this winter negative NAO will be here one of three needed. El Niño depends on what it does if eastern bases cold wet ie snow if not mild to cold wet icy type stuff. It’s all just a waiting game now

Almost finished making the dolly for my 100 gallon fuel tank when the welder ran out if wire... not a spare reel around. Ugh. Waiting on Amazon today. I need to go install a Ring doorbell at an older friends house later.

Don the heat will start to break for you come back for a short stay then broken by 3rd week of September. If you wish to watch it form look to Pacific Ocean and weather makers coming in California. Sodamo may hold some key here. Canada looks to remain warm.

Another metrologist predicts Lee to not hit US coast lines

Good morning! Low of 55°, heading to 90°. Sunny, no possibility of rain until next Tuesday. We are in the extreme drought category, but the "exceptional" category is knocking on the door....
At least the humidity is super low --- 10-15%

Got another load of materials yesterday, then stacked and sorted. Too hot to do much else.

Need to make a trip into town this morning, then to a local appointment just before noon. Might get to doing more dismantling and prep work. Depends on the heat level.

Buppies, what does our area look like for the weather breaking? How about winter outlook?

Dennis, haven't heard too much about the new property....are plans still moving forward?

Everyone have a great day!

I have a separate thread on it. But haven't done much but mow once a month. It needs mowed again, but after this week of heat.
I did some work on cabin plans. Think I'm on my 3rd iteration. I need to get a driveway in, and then a well dug. That will dictate further work.

I will have to check LS I do not focus on the west too much just give me some time. Generally I look at Mississippi East and Texas due to so many people on here. This summer has been really dry for a lot of us

If memory serves me correctly concrete gets harder for 50 years or is it 100 then begins to deteriorate. Broke down looked it up 100 years building roads sidewalks 50. They will deteriorate sooner if exposed to harsh elements ie salt for ice melting

67°F and 0 rain

Got my outside the fence mowing complete, then the day took a turn.

Sophie’s BX was experiencing a loss of power. Indications are this is a well known issue, bad fuel filter, especially the one in rear underneath. Boy, what a B****h, especially with the mid mount mower hardware. Kubota could easily fix this at no cost just by changing length of the fuel line by an inch. Having more nimble fingers might help. By the time I got the old one out, my day was done. Today I will pick up some 5/16 fuel line and relocate. Found a couple good You tube solutions

Into town this morning. Sophie has ophthalmologist appointment and we’ll do errands.

About half way getting salt into pool, progress

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
