Poured first cup of coffee. 66° with mostly clear skies this morning. Heading to 80° with scattered thunderstorms. Did some more cleanup in barns. Moved leftover wood and other material to loft of gambrel roof barn. The bright sun sure did make me hot. Stayed inside rest of the day. Thunderstorm moved thru about 8 last evening. Left .34" of rain. Today is last of the 80° days for next 10 days. Dentist appointment in morning. Will see how feel after that. To decide what will happen rest of the day.
Getting crowded at bath time.

Good morning! It has not cooled off much during the night 81˚ at 4 A.M heading to 104˚ to 106˚. Another week of 100s and the that is it, right Buppies?

Knee keeps going through cycles of good and bad the pre surgical appointment with the Doctor's assistant yesterday brought back memories of the first surgery 2 years ago. They do have it down and are very good.

Kyle how did the game go?

good morning all
72 going up to hot hot hot today

slept well last night, off to PT this morning
then off to MIL in nursing home this afternoon with laptop, will show
her pics of my trip to Michigan. We were going to go for a drive but just too hot out for
a 94 year old

looks like a lot of cloudy wet weather coming in this weekend, with a nice lowering of temps.
just too unpleasant being outside in afternoon. At least mornings are ok

I'm surprised they let kids play in that heat

that's a good idea Ron

69 jumping up to 98. Still won't be a record, they say.

Lou, that's a nice stone you chose. Looking good.

PJ, glad the legs are better. When my son was here, he said he has a scar from where a European hornet stung him on the trail last month.

Buppies, sounds like you had an adventurous route home.

Did a dump run yesterday...lots of extra from all the company we had...then stopped at the park and hiked to the river. All the side streams are dry, and the river is down. Lots of Autumn leaves on the trail. Then took my wife to a Mexican restaurant we had never visited...very good food. It's in a building that used to be a French Bistro...so quite the mash-up of architecture and decor.

....

Mike Z, as I understand it the Mr Cool mini split has pre charged lines, so I’m guessing if you cut off the excess line there is a way to recharge the system, is that correct?....
Yes, you are correct. Out of my pay league. Welding and recharging.

67 outside this AM. Heading to upper 90's. 91% humidity. Nice fog bank over the front pastures.

Area under extreme draught conditions now. My friends sent pictures of the river not 40 minutes south of us, they can walk across it to the other bank. Not good. Our creek in the back is bone dry too. One sad little pool of water remains. All are hoping for rain tomorrow for a few days. Needless to say, burn ban in effect.

Roofer finished up last night. Perfect splice and matchup of the old school standing seam. Even added a few wrinkles in the seams to match up. LOL. Just needs paint. Wife sad about loss of character on the chimney removal. She is ecstatic at the space recovery on the inside of the building. Plumber is next. Goal is to be done, done, done by January. This has turned out to be a two year six month long project. Hey, I only work part time. LOL.

Dump runs today, lots of construction material to get rid of.

Hope all have a good day. Be safe. Those ailing, heal faster.

Return was simple, did it online, printed the barcode, went to Walmart and there wasn’t even a line at Customer Service! Credit will be processed in 7-10 days (but debits are ALWAYS instantaneous…).

Good morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

68F going to mid-80s, sunny day.

our second electric gate has been acting up, a couple incidents of it opening 2-3 feet after closing. We have plastic privacy slats on the gate, and the Possibility of them flexing and tripping the optical sensors on the posts is a likely reason, so yesterday I got two metal light switch covers out of the parts pile and relocated the sensors a bit further away from the gate. Let’s see how that goes…

today will be morning house-puttering as we have an1PM as point, ent to drop Subaru off again for the Full rotor/pad replacement on the brakes.

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

73F and sunny but the air smells stale. Over the last week I keep smelling smoke. Not much yard work or tractor play going on. Dry and HOT. I have been happy to stay in the last couple of days. I'm home alone this week. My wife and her sister went to the beach. Sounds like they are having a good time except when the biting flys chase them off the beach. Daughter #1 and her husband were going to join them but he tested positive and they didn't want to take a chance with the old ladies. I should be working on the shop and the basement since I'm home and it is nice and cool down there. I haven't got much done yet. I did get some work done on the boat trailers. Same old story trailer lights never work. Where did I put the deoxit?

I hope you are all getting by.

Chris

Thomas boo getting active?
I've notice change in Boo pattern since last Saturday...he hanging out near stream with big water pool that's very well shaded travels late to early morning, believe the hot weather has something to do with it.

" I think the news media has gone off the deep end and this winter might show how far."
Sure hope we have mild winter.

69F heavy fog low 90's for high...another day of 3 H's. :(

Outside early do some garden work etc. before mercury starts to bubble, time for E muffin. :)

Plans for today...quick walk about but mostly settle into cool spot until evening.

Enjoy your day all.

I have a sneaky suspicion it will be like the summer pattern.

It will be extreme and sudden. Like such a nice mild winters day to where is my door to the house.

Morning all, 71 going to 95 and cloudy.
Spent hours drilling through cinder block for the mini split set run.
Still not done, the 90mm/3.5" hole is taking forever with hole saw and chisel.

The heat yesterday wore me out while drilling the outside stucco/cinder block inward.

Sons birthday dinner tonight, he is turning 16 and wants to get his learners permit as fast as possible....

Be well,

I ended up at Home Depot for that part of the project. Looking for a drill bit that would get through concrete, steel mesh, 100 year old oak boards.

After the concrete, whatever I bought was trashed..... it was supposed to handle all that material. It did not.

Good luck to you. I think I have averaged about an hour per hole or outlet in the Milk House.

Will be interesting to see what the plumbers bring for the concrete. Diamond edge something I imagine. LOL.
