So I’m wondering if any of you guys have tried to sell anything on FB Marketplace ?
Earlier today I listed two toddler push cars. I’ve been texted twice by different people that asked if the items were still available. I said they were and then they asked for my cell number which I thought was Ok to give that out ! Then they say they want to text me a 6 number code. I didn’t see a problem with that , but when they texted me the code 22000, on my phone a message comes up that says this is your Apple ID, do not give this code to anyone ! So if I had texted the number back they would have my Apple ID , along with some other info that I’m pretty sure I don’t want to give out !! Then just a few minutes ago the same thing happens again !
And all I'm trying to do is sell some inexpensive children toys that the kids have outgrown !
I think it might be easier to just put an add in the paper, with a phone number !! Any thoughts on all of this madness ??

Have not heard of that, not sure how that gives them your Apple ID, but I would ignore anyone trying to txt me a code. I’d also use a google phone number that rings to your phone, and not give an actual phone number.

So they are trying to steal and reset your googleID, which gives them access to your account. If you have credit card tied to it, you would be screwed.
How it works.
You can use your phone number to change your google ID. They are using your phone number, then they need the code it sends you so that’s why they want it.

Reading some more the number 22000 is used by google to send verification codes. Not sure exact how that transfers to apple, but definitely a scam to get access to your account.

It's just plain crazy, Drew. A while back they stopped allowing people to register Diesel trucks over a certain age. Earlier this year they outlawed sales of new devices that use small gas engines, like string trimmers and blowers. Trying to force everyone to go with electric/battery power.

Even crazier, last summer they issued alerts asking people not to charge their electric cars in the afternoon and evening because the grid wouldn't support it. Yet they still want to limit sales of gas engined vehicles.

For the brand new RAM van I just bought, I had to have it smog tested here in Kalifornia, even though it meets emissions regs in all 50 states. Sez so right on the sticker.

The inmates are clearly in charge of the asylum.

102˚ outside and the drops are evaporating in about 2 seconds. This is the pic with the most rain showing. Humidity still 32%. keeping our fingers crossed for some more.
edit: 10 minutes later humidity down to 31% and temp has gone up to 103˚.
The drops must have missed the Tempest rain gauge which goes by drops not accumulation, it is still showing no rain.

Yay again! WE GOT NONE. I could smell it, and we got some really high gusts....but not a perceptible drop.

72 outside this AM. May touch 80. 91% humidity. Maybe some rain later. Hopefully.

Busy weekend. But I did manage to get up on the roof of the Milk House and remove part of the chimney to below the roof line. Unfortunately it was exhausting. Legs all bent out of normal directions, hip, knees. Dang. Need to take up some serious stretching going forward. Just exhausting.

Today and this week I will attempt to remove the chimney bricks in the attic. Hopefully it remains below 90 so I can work up there.

Don't give out anything. Only communicate on FB marketplace. If they ask for anything, be suspect. Cash in hand works.

I have messages from 22000. It’s the number google uses to send you 2 factor authentication. They need the code sent from that number to access your google account. They are trying to access your account.

Just found out that on FB, when they switched and became Meta, they opened the security on my account so anyone can see it. I had it set to only friends could see my posts. I wondered because I posted about a stolen tractor in Ohio, and I started getting spammers replying. Had to button it up again. Makes me want to cuss.

No rain in forecast and rising temps through the work week. Putter to start day, Bike ride, then trip to town for groceries and lunch. Mowing the parts that needed mowing then gave the trimmer a walk, done in an hour. Did get a nap in, then finished tax prep for 2022, mail it all off tomorrow.

The few things I have put on FB marketplace I listed the location where it would be available and the hours it would be available until sold. I said that if the ad is up the item is available and I will not be responding to texts or messages asking if it's available. Cash on the Spot! People who wanted those items called and left a message that they were on the way with cash. When they came and paid I immediately took the item off Marketplace. I did not have anyone show up after the initial ones who called and said they were on the way.

It seemed to work ok when I did that. One time a guy called and asked if I would deliver an item. It happened to be on the way to a place I needed to go so I said I would deliver it and he should be outside with the cash in hand when I got there in 10 minutes or so. When I drove up he came up to the truck and looked in the bed and "OK, I'll take it". He just stood there like I was going to unload it for him. I asked for the money. He smiled like he had been caught and gave it to me so I unlocked the tailgate and he reached in and put it on the ground. Thank You and Have A Nice Day says I.

Coffee has been poured. 50° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 77° with afternoon thunder storms. Yesterday was a day of redo's. Sent Sassy out for her morning yard tour. She came back with green legs from grass clippings. Cleaned her up and made plans to cleanup of clipping in afternoon. Friend came up with a suggestion to redo jump seat on Mule arm rest. Spent way to many hours making brackets for arm rest and pole rack. Then cleanup of grass clipping Slept very good last night.
Going to be conserve energy day.

Fine with me, I'm off with motorhome at 8am to car radio place to get the rv radio/back up camera fixed.
I'm hoping if it's not raining, maybe they could put some better speakers in the front doors.

when I had my electronics business here in mid 80's, I did not do car stereo, did not want to get involved in installs.
So I sent business down to these folks. I wonder if any of the old timers remember.

If I didn't need an install, I would buy from Crutchfield. I have found them to be outstanding, the LL Bean of electronics.
And often the same price, with free shipping. And today we pay state sales tax no matter where we buy things.
