He warns those who have them to not leave them constantly plugged in once fully charged.
I wonder if anyone stands there and watches the charger. Seems the charger should know when a battery is charged. Most all the chargers I have signal when the battery is fully charged. You would think if the charger is smart enough to know that, then it should be smart enough to turn off. I think I'd be talking to my attorney about why a charger can start a fire.

Any way....
We're three days away from setting an all-time record for the number of days over 100 degrees. We'll most likely match that on Saturday. It's currently a balmy 73 degrees with all my windows covered in due. Thank God for air conditioning.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least most screw up too badly).

66F going to upper 80s, mostly Sunny, mchance of stray afternoon T-storms.

Went to periodontist for first follow up, mostly good report except for a 2mm tear over one of the teeth that will hopefully close up before next follow up mid-September. At least another week of smoothies and soft food. Yay…

before heading to perio appt, I repainted the top of an old metal toolbox I got at a theirt. Repainted the tray too. 8x7x16, heavy steel, new today it would be a $75 dollar box or more. Not anKennedy (no nameplate) but close in design and execution .

Last Night’s druggie house activity turned out to not be LE but EMS, someone went out on a bus.

Today is waiting on technician to come look at leak in the hot tub. Of course it is not on the side with the access panel…

While waiting on the tech, I will be applying linseed oil to all the tool handles - it is that time of year!

I also have to call up the Whirlpool help line and BMC at the, - when I was in Lowe’s, I had to call them to find out which type of anode I needed (plug or nipple) and was told it was plug.

it ain’t…

so I have to exchange and it is just another delay for a scheduled “quick” project. Yay…

maybe get the dogs up to the lot later, pick some tomatoes and cayenne peppers and fresh basil (the three things that are doing best in the garden).

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe productive blessed day!

65 outside this AM. It might get to 80 today. 81% humidity. Maybe some rain later, maybe.

Roofer stopped by, seemed enthusiastic. No issues with what we wanted done. Waiting on estimate and if OK, scheduling. Let's hope that works out. Looks like I will be tearing down the chimney after all. Need the space
inside anyway.

Not much on the agenda today. Maybe take the weed whacker for a walk.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe. Those with health issues, here are positive thoughts your way.

Good Morning
It’s 66 with a high of 70 under partly to mostly cloudy skies today. 40% POP.

Yesterday was a beautiful day weather wise, a busy day for me.
The morning trip to the Vineyard went according to plan, I was home for lunch about 12:30.
Called Drew on the way home for lunch to tell him to come over later in the afternoon so I could get some generator wiring done first. The wiring worked out surprisingly well considering I had to pull additional wires through existing conduits. I was just wrapping that up when Drew arrived, kept himself amused inflating his tires and removing the tail lights while I finished my connections and tested them. The generator works as it should, and the shop transfers properly as well. Didn’t get to the house transfer switch yet.

At any rate, Drew has his new tail lights installed, he learned about solder sleeves and hopefully figured out why his tire was loosing air.

After he left, I went back to the generator project, studied the drawings for the Onan switch and came up with a plan that will be executed today.
It was refreshing to see that the inside of the switch matched the drawings, and all terminal blocks and wires were clearly labeled.

So after my bowl of Special K this morning I will start making up the relay harness that I need to add to make it all work. Once that is all done and installed, I really need to go around and police up the tools and supplies that I have scattered around while jumping from task to task. I’ve made a half hearted effort after completing each phase, but the bench is a disaster, as is most of the other horizontal surfaces in the shop.
It is a recurring situation that never seems to end. But I really need to gather up all the tools and put them where they belong, so I don’t walk around in circles looking for things.

Hopefully the rain holds off long enough to get at least the open areas mowed with the Progressive mower. Then I might put my feet up early, but that usually doesn’t happen.

PJ, nice chain hoist! that sure looks handy and easy to use
don't forget your jackstands.

will be interesting to see if tpms system on rv shows full air pressure this morning on the suspect tire.
Pretty sure it will, think the valve extension was inadvertently loosened a few days earlier.
I tightened it all pretty well yesterday.

The lithium polymer batteries we use in RC planes are charged in a fireproof bag and not left alone wile charging. We have fireproof bags in the airplanes for lithium battery fires in portable electronic devices, as a lithium battery fire is pretty tenacious.
Lithium batteries have incredible power density, but are not without their issues. There are also various chemistries used, some are more stable than others. So fires, while rare, do happen, and there are usually warnings and disclaimers on the devices and batteries.

I wait for the trim mower battery to cool a little then put it on charge
sitting on concrete floor. You have to take it out of mower to charge, and when done,
I put battery back on top of mower, not inside.

has anyone heard of an EGO battery fire? I haven't.
I have a lesser brand name but you know the mower maker doesn't build the battery.
It's who they buy from.

I've never worried about my Makita batteries.
I do try to remember to turn the charger totally off when done, so it doesn't sit on idle.
all my chargers plug into a heavy duty surge strip and I turn it all on and off from there.

in the earlier days of firefighting the first toxic metal we dealt with was magnesium.
Those VW's had it in their blocks I think and when their crappy fabric fuel lines let loose,
it ignited the magnesium. We learned to carry bags of sand to smother the fire while also cooling it below
ignition point. And boy did that smoke smell horrible, before we put scba on for car fires.

Do they still have the school bus demolition derby there? I haven’t been there in years, but that was memorable.
😂😂
Good Morning Guys,
Lou, thanks for the update on Washington County !

50’s to start going to 73 or so ! Yesterdays big project was washing and waxing my 2017 F150 ! My right arm is a bit sore today, to much wax on wax off circular motions ! 😂 It’s supposed to be a once a year wax, which is a lot of baloney IMO ! But it does a nice job! It’s in an orange bottle, I think it’s NuWax or something like that !

I checked my camera, and it looks like I got my DW material delivered !

All have a blessed and safe day ! 🙏
