no longer do I need to get out of bed at 3am in the pouring rain to turn on my house generator for the sole purpose
of making sure my basement sump pump keeps working. Now battery backed.
Pretty scuzzy in there, no surprise since the output of the washing machine gets dumped into the sump. That then is pumped out into the
line of trees, under some big pines, in between the properties, the part always wet from road water. So it gets hidden.
Must break sixteen plumbing codes.
could be worse. If the kitchen sink drain went there too, that would not be good at all.
looks like a big Wayne pump down there. It must have a million hours on it.
Next time I'm downstairs I'll check to see if it has pumped out, and if so, will soak the whole
existing pump in Clorox cleaner. I guess the detergent in the washing machine has controlled the crud.
should be just rain water and hvac condensate, which also gets dumped in there, constant drip.
actually can just reach down there and pull on the float to pump it out as far down as possible.
