75° now. Took awhile to get thru the morning posts. Nice cool breeze this morning coming from the north. No more smoke, are the fires out?
I did get another 🪣 of 🥔 dug earlier, and most of the weeds pulled on what’s not dug. Lot smaller potatoes this year than last, I guess due to the dry weather. Might dig a few more, might not. Some plants still a little green so might wait. Earliest I’ve ever dug 🥔 ‘s.
Missed a couple things from Costco yesterday, but not going to make a special trip. They were low on all cereal , out of mini wheats which are now around $10 a box. We are adjusting what we buy. I stopped eating the almond butter biscuits because of the price.

73F and "Fair" @ 11:15, heading up to a high of around 77F for the day. Beautiful, pleasant weather.

Yesterday went much better.

Ran down to Menards during the heat of the afternoon and picked up 2 one gallon Chapin sprayers, also another spool cartridge of 0.65" line for the B&D battery-operated string trimmer.

Woman trimmed down a bunch of weeds out back by the frog pond.

Got east side and area over the leach field all mowed.

By the time that was done, it was around 18:00 and the temps had were really cooling off as the cold front rolled in. It was still warmish and humid though ... but very pleasant.

Woman was going to head out for a Lotto ticket and to pick up that Chicken Alfredo She likes from Dominos for Her dinner. Offered to make me some BLT's ... (y) ... so we picked about a dozen tomatoes that were ripe. Suggested She should pick up some more gas for the Cub as I'd start mowing the rest of lawn again soon.

Gassed up Cub when She got back.

Got the last 5 day lilies planted.

Drained the Water Buffalo doing that, didn't have enough to water the last 2 ... will need to hit those today. Woman has already drawn about 6 gallons.

Hauled WB around back and dropped so it could be refilled today.

Gathered up trash and recyclables and hauled those up to the cans at the road right after it got dark.

Agenda for today:

Refill feeders.

Assemble sprayers and mix up another 4 gallons of glyphosate and get the sprayers filled up.

Finish spraying along driveway while I still have shade, then spray along the road. Other spraying to do as well ... assuming wind cooperates (forecast to be 5 - 10 mph out of the NE)

Refill Water Buffalo.

Put forks on Kubota and move that pallet of mulch out to where I can get to it, maybe start mulching the area where the day lilies got planted.

Can probably put off rest of mowing until tomorrow as weather should be good at least until late in the day.

Hope everyone is having a decent day ... (y)

Proof of Bidenomics?

For those that don't follow world and international news much, it may come as a complete and total surprise that rising inflation is currently actually a global phenomena ...

If I had to guess, I'd venture that such things come as a consequence of one or more regional or world-wide events which have broad impacts.

But I'm just spitballing ... ;)

70°F and 1.42 inches rain

Major plan for the day is major replacement of my water filter system and install new water pump. Hopefully got all the appropriate fittings yesterday. Pics when done.

Probably will unload the 26 bags of pool salt I got yesterday for Sophie’s pool conversion. Not quite ready for them, but when HD here has inventory best not to hesitate.

Good Happy Hour

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

A long time ago, before The Internet, I was a member of the New York Paleontological Society and had access to the Museum Library, and did awesome papers for school… I am sure my mom saved those papers, somewhere…

The Cretaceous period is an archetypal example of a greenhouse climate. Atmospheric pCO2 levels reached as high as about 2,000 ppmv, average temperatures were roughly 5°C–10°C higher than today, and sea levels were 50–100 meters higher [O’Brien et al., 2017; Tierney et al., 2020].
